Okay, seriously, am I the only one upset that this thread's entire being has come from the judgement of a game without one playing it?

 

I'm mildly bothered, but I'm certainly not upset.

 

I get quite annoyed at people who judge games without playing them. It's a game. You play it. It's most likely in the definition.

That's like someone judging games COMPLETELY on reviews (IE: Lolipop Chainsaw... uggh.. it's a grindhouse game, it's going to get bad scores, they're supposed to be like that!!!)

 

Was it really necessary to mock those of us who are don't want to know about spoilers?

 

I sort of disagree there. If a game doesn't look fun or interesting and I can't play it for free before buying it, I'm not going to buy it and thus will judge it based on gameplay videos, trailers, and (rarely) reviews.

Necessary? Probably not. Worth it? Yep.

I didn't watch any trailers for MGS4. If someone told me Raiden was a ninja in it, I'd have been pissed. Heck, I left the theatre when trailers for Dark Knight Rises would come on.

Some people are just like that.

That's your call to not buy it, but it isn't an excuse to judge it and comment on it without saying "I haven't played it" and ending your judging on "am I right or wrong here?"
