The Holy Grail ​

An omnipotent object which is the end goal of the holy grail war. It's origins are unknown. While it's certain it never recieved the blood of god, it matches the power of the one in the legend. It is capable of granting any wish it's holder desires. It is through the power of the holy grail that heroic spirits are summoned to the present to fight. ​

The Holy Grail War​

The great conflict between the seven masters and their servants taking place in Fuyuki city. It ends when only one servant and master remain standing. The first Holy Grail War taking place in this RP will be the sixth, and so on through the next ones.​

Servants​

Heroes of the past, summoned by the Holy Grail to a master to fight for it. Whether they actually existed in reality or purely in fiction is irrelevant. The power of the grail brings them into existence. They are all incredibly powerful, more than a match for most humans, including Magi. As they are spirits, they can leave their physical body and become invisible, although can still be easily detected by other servants and their own master. If their master is killed, they can exist in the world temporarily, though will be at a severe disadvantage unless they find a new master as their supply of mana will be mostly cut off. ​

Noble Phantasms​

The trump cards of the servants. They are weapons and abilities that they had during their previous life, and are generally very powerful. Each Noble Phantasm is different, sometimes being just a simple weapon, sometimes an ability, and sometimes both. Servants aren't neccesarily limited to one noble phantasm.​

Command Spells​

A mark on the back of the master's hand. This mark gives three times where a master can invoke absolute obedience from their servant. These can also be, and often are, used to increase the servant's capabilities or summon and dismiss them across long distances. For example: "Give everything you have in the next attack!" the servant can temporarily exceed what they would normally be able to do. Long term command spells such as "Obey my every command throughout the war" Generally don't work very well, if at all. With each spell they use, part of the markings vanishes. Once all three command spells are gone, the servant is no longer obligated to obey the master.​

Classes​

Among the servants summoned, there are seven possible classes they can fit into. ​

• Saber: Servants placed within this class are agile and powerful melee warriors. It is commonly assumed to be the best class overall, with high ratings in all categories. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Archer.

• Archer: Servants placed within this class are usually proficient with projectiles and can survive longer without a Master nearby, thanks to their special ability Independent Action; the strongest Archers can be difficult to control at times, in fact, due to their near-total independence from their "Masters". It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Saber.

• Lancer: Servants placed within this class are very agile and skilled with long-range melee weapons, such as spears, lances, etc. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Archer and Saber.

• Caster: Servants placed within this class are adept in magecraft and have a special ability akin to Reality Marble, called Territory Creation, which alters or creates space around them to enhance their sorcery.

• Rider: Servants placed within this class place emphasis upon speed and powerful Noble Phantasms, which often include their mounts. Their special skill is Riding, which allows them to fully utilize abilities of their mounts (which can range from simple horses to mechanical vehicles to divine or supernatural creatures.).
• Assassin: Servants placed within this class are very good with recon. The Assassins' special ability is Presence Concealment, which allows them to remain undetected. Offset by their stealth is their weak combat skills. Due to this, Assassins often target Masters instead of Servants.
• Berserker: Servants placed within this class are always heroes who have gone berserk in their lifetime. This trait allows them to use the special ability Mad Enhancement, which trades their consciousness (i.e. sanity) for a large power boost. Most Masters are incapable of controlling their Servant once Mad Enhancement has been activated, which eventually results in their death.

Rules​

No godmodding, of course.​

I'm not going to say that you cannot kill of another's character, as it's a war and people WILL die, although it might be a good idea to ask them if they're alright with it beforehand, though not required.​

Don't join if you will be extremely against your character dying. ​

Please try to be active. If possible, at least once every 36 hours. If you won't be able to post for any reason, notify me. A week of inactivity without notification will result in your characters being killed off.​

You are allowed one master and one servant per grail war(as we will do multiple.)​

The master must be an OC, and the Servant must be an actual character.​

Make the character fit their class. For example, you wouldn't see Hamtaro being a berserker​

The stats are simply a way to gauge how strong your servant is. They are ranked E-A, with pluses indicating they can exceed that at times. (up to three pluses) ​

The EX stat rank indicates that stat is incredibly powerful, surpassing the A rank by far. Most characters WILL NOT have a stat that powerful. While it's not totally forbidden, keep that in mind.​

The more powerful the ability, the more magic it drains from the master. Your characters do get tired.​

It's generally a good idea to refer to your servants by their class, rather than name. As it allows enemies to learn their identity, and therefore possibly their weaknesses. ​

Background: The Weiss family was around since the first holy grail war, but decided to stay out of it. This wasn't because they wanted to avoid it, but because they knew there would be others. They were biding their time. Each and every day, they would pour all their magical energy into a scepter. No member of the family was spared from this. Over time, the scepter came to hold an unimaginable amount of magical power. Their intent was to use the to ensure their victory in the holy grail war. The latest head of the Weiss family, Daniel Weiss, was incredibly strict. He treated his entire family like dirt. Especially his son Noire. It was family tradition that the members be seculduded. It was only recently that Noire snapped. He stole the scepter, and used it to slaughter his entire family. Intending to use the scepter's power to win the war and clense the world, as he believes all humans to be evil, as he has never experienced anything else. Innocence is a foreign concept to him.

Background:
She was once in an asylum that did secret experiments on their patients that was ordered by the government to create the “Ultimate Being” as a weapon of mass destruction for war. They performed the experiment on her and she survived but then she ended up escaping the asylum with her new found power. Now that she has figured out how to use these new powers she plans on finding the Holy Grail and becoming immortal.

One day, Simon's parents were killed in a horrible car accident, leaving him to fend for himself, as he had nobody else to turn to. As much as he hates to admit it, their deaths, as tragic as it was for him initially, was a bit of a relief as well, as the constant violence was finally ended. Since hearing of the Holy Grail, Simon has wished to acquire it's power to rid the entire world of violence, even if it means having to fight his way there.

*Ice-Make: Floor: Gray simply freezes the floor, which makes anyone in the area slip. Gray is also capable of freezing water with this spell, and slide on the resultant floor.
*Ice-Make: Bow: Gray creates a large bow out of ice, which can be used to shoot powerful ice arrows at his targets.
*Ice-Make: Arrows: Gray creates one or more arrows out of ice, which are subsequently shot at high speed to enemies through the use of the previously made ice bow
*Ice-Make: Super Freeze Arrow: Using Ice-Make Ice Geyser and standing on top of the resulting ice formation, Gray can rise up to a high point to shoot his arrow; after the shot, the speed of the arrow increases with gravity and air pressure, making this attack much deadlier than usual
*Ice-Make: Battle Axe: Gray creates an axe out of ice for melee combat and swings it around him.
*Ice-Make: Sword: Gray creates a sword out of ice for melee combat. The sword is very durable, being capable of cutting and parrying other weapons as if it were made of metal
*Ice-Make: Cold Excalibur: Gray creates a massive great-sword out of ice for melee combat. As with its smaller version, the weapon is very strong and sharp; in addition, its slashes seem capable of leaving behind large wakes of ice which can damage the opponents
*Ice-Make: Ice Bringer: Gray generates two swords of ice in his hands and rapidly moves them forward in an X motion to slash his opponent
*Ice-Make: Ice Geyser: Freezing the ground in front of him, Gray creates a tower of ice spikes that impales opponents, greatly damaging them
*Ice-Make: Ice Cannon: Having created a large, bazooka-like hand-held cannon, Gray fires a cannonball made of ice to deal massive damage to his opponent
* Ice-Make: Prison: Gray creates a large square cage out of ice to trap opponents.
*Ice-Make: Ice Dummy: Gray creates a copy of himself made out of ice. The copy is perfectly identical to him, being revealed as made of ice only after a close, careful inspection.
*Ice-Make: Stairs: Gray makes stairs out of ice, so that he can get to previously unreachable places. The stairs, despite the nature of the material composing them, don't seem to be slippy at all
*Ice-Make: Slide: Gray makes a slide out of ice, so that he can get to previously unreachable places
*Ice-Make: Rampart: Gray creates an extremely massive and high wall out of ice, which can stop his opponents in their tracks, but uses up a lot of Magic
*Ice-Make: Grappling Hook: Gray creates two four-pointed grappling hooks with chains connected with the Ice-Make auras around his hands, which can be used to hold grasp of higher surfaces or objects, allowing him to lift himself
*Ice-Make: Death Scythe: Gray first creates a large scythe made out of ice, and then jumps into the air. When he's high enough, he swings the scythe at his opponent
*Ice-Make: Gungnir: Gray releases a gigantic lance out of ice which traps the opponent in it.
*Ice-Make: Knuckle: Freezing the ground under his opponent, Gray creates a tower made of large ice fists which strikes his opponent
*Ice-Make: Saucer: Gray creates a large, spinning ice disk, capable of cutting through like a buzz-saw, which he launches at his target
*Ice-Make: Fishnet: Gray releases an icy wind from his hands, which takes on a fishnet-like shape, and allows him to freeze his opponent
*Ice-Make: Ice Wall: An alternative version of Ice-Make: Ice Geyser, which freezes the opponent instead of impaling them.
*Ice-Make: Coccoon: Gray surrounds his body with a cocoon of ice, which has spikes jutting outwards, to protect himself from enemy attacks
*Ice-Make: Kite: User creates a kite under the user which allows him/her to fly in the air
*Ice-Make Unlimited: One Sided Chaotic Dance: Gray creates a big number of Ice Swords, which he can command to attack one or more enemies.
*Ice-Make: Shotgun: Gray utilizes nearby water in conjunction with his Ice-Make Magic to solidify the water, which is then aimed at the target and released as sharp, thick spears of ice
*Enhanced Durability
*Expert Weapons Specialist: Gray has displayed considerably great ability in wielding the weapons produced by his Ice-Make spells. He is very skilled in swordsmanship with his constructed ice swords of various forms and sizes. He has also shown to be adept at marksmanship, using his ice bow to throw arrows at great distances with pinpoint accuracy

As the "dark" half of Ventus's Heart, Vanitas was at first much like him. However, due to the suffering he endured by the hands of Master Xehanort, and his desperate desire for salvation, he became proud, cunning, and cruel in order to achieve enough strength to forge the χ-Blade with Ventus, believing that to be the salvation he desires. As such, the lives of others, including that of even Master Xehanort, hold absolutely no value to him, and he shows zero remorse for his actions. As a pragmatist, he will strike without a moment's thought, warning, or hesitation, as seen when he ambushes Aqua in the Keyblade Graveyard and attempts to eliminate her.

Despite his loyalty to Master Xehanort, he has no qualms with disregarding his orders if he feels the need arises; for example, he attempts to eliminate Ventus after defeating him in their first battle despite full knowledge that Master Xehanort needed Ventus alive for his plans, all while openly acknowledging that he'd be going against Xehanort's plans by doing so.

He is also shown to be an uncaring, cold, and ruthless individual, having not the slightest sympathy for anyone but himself. Vanitas holds everything and everyone in contempt, and holds a great resentment against Ventus and the friends he has. The envy he feels against them is seen in his frequent criticizing of Ventus's friendships with Terra and Aqua, when he callously breaks Ventus's wooden Keyblade while cruelly antagonizing Aqua for playing with the Lost Boys, his constantly calling Ventus "idiot", and forcing Ventus to fight him by threatening to kill Terra and Aqua after Ventus refused to.

This extreme overconfidence in his abilities usually leads to his downfall as he underestimates his opponents when fighting.

The only time in the entire game when Vanitas expresses genuine concern and fear is when he has been defeated by Ventus for the final time. Background: Simon grew up in a violent home. His parents fought frequently, with most fights ending in violence. Because of this, Simon spent most of his time at home secluded in his bedroom, teaching himself to use computers as a way to distract himself. One day, Simon's parents were killed in a horrible car accident, leaving him to fend for himself, as he had nobody else to turn to. As much as he hates to admit it, their deaths, as tragic as it was for him initially, was a bit of a relief as well, as the constant violence was finally ended. Since hearing of the Holy Grail, Simon has wished to acquire it's power to rid the entire world of violence, even if it means having to fight his way there.

What are your Noble Phantasm(s)?: Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, Kirin
What do they do?: The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan allows the user to perform a number of techniques, most notably the Amaterasu, a black flame that never goes out, and Susano'o, a large deity-like being that surrounds the user that is capable of devastating attacks. Kirin is performed through thunder clouds, allowing the user to control lightning. While the preparation time on this move is not very quick, the attack itself goes from the sky to it's destination in 1/1000th of a second, making the strike virtually unavoidable.

What do they do?: Zafkiel has time-affecting properties that are focused through a bullet into a single target. Depending on the bullet used, of which there are several different ones, the affect can speed up, slow down, rewind, or even stop a targets time. This can also be applied to oneself, in which case the bullet will do no physical damage. Zafkiel's ultimate ability, however, is a form of temporal distortion that allows many versions of herself from different points in time to stand by her side. These versions of her can be killed easily, but injuries dealt to them will not affect any of the others.
Skills and abilities: She is an skilled marksman, and has physical strength that passes a normal human, but is weak for a Servant.
Why do you seek the holy grail?: She wishes to stop feeling pain and find goodness in the world. ...apparently.

Personality: Funny, slightly mad, and actually caring towards his friends (and people he wants to be more-than-friends with), but he is also in constant pain, which he has so far managed to hide. However, when someone close is threatened or when he is provoked, he can be quite… savage, he once sent 5 boys into hospital because they picked on his best friend. He is also quite sympathetic, and can even be empathetic is some cases. He is also known to have strong opinions on racists, and has also been a bit brutal towards people who discriminate others because they are different… probably because he himself is different. Then again, when you’re a Magus, I suppose you are quite different. He also hides his desire for vengeance.

Abilities and skills: He is quite skilled with a sword, and he is also skilled in Thaumaturgy, having learned one useful thing for all the servants, so he’d be at an advantage no matter what servant he summoned, this included learning how to not only activate, but also deactivate Mad Enhancement incase he summoned a Berserker-class servant. Aside from that, his strong point in Thaumaturgy is defensive Thaumaturgy, which he uses alongside his sword-fighting skills, but this in no way means he can take on a Servant. He also has a way of talking his way out of things… and into them.
Likes: cute girls, swords, reading, computer games, thaumaturgy, Greek mythology and music (recently he’s grown fond of Nevaeh’s singing)
Dislikes: racists, discrimination, education, death, people who say “kids play too many computer games”, CoD, cooking, talking about his parents.
Background: Born and raised as the only child of two Magus Parents, both of which were killed when he was 11 by a rogue magus. Since then he has studied Thaumaturgy in a way that his father would be proud of, and has also taken up his mother’s family’s sword-style (taught to him by his maternal uncle), hoping that one day he may take vengeance on the man who killed his parents. However, in recent months he saw the signs that the Holy Grail War was about to take place, and so he decided to participate himself, hoping to summon a Saber-class servant (particularly, Lightning Farron), he instead summoned a Berserker. His conclusion is that Lightning has already been summoned in the War. Recently he has also met Nevaeh, who he describes as “talented” and “beautiful”… of course, I should note this is not the first time he has used these comments.

Personality: When not under the affects of Mad Enhancement, he appears to be somewhat cocky or arrogant, and rarely stops to achieve his goal unless his master says so. Deep beneath this hard exterior, however, lies his never-ending strive to atone for his sins. Whilst under the affects of Mad Enhancement he becomes a heartless beast who looks down on humans as “Pathetic” and “Foolish” (the only exception being his master), and has no mercy for others (not excluding his master).

What do they do: Soul Edge is actually two different Noble Phantasms. When using the first Noble Phantasm, it changes shape (Soul Edge Cocoon) and Siegfried unleashes three powerful, deadly attacks against his opponent. When using his second Noble Phantasm, Soul Edge takes on another form (Soul Edge Omega) and Siegfried unleashes one powerful strike that sends out a shockwave of deadly red energy (or whatever) in a large arc. When not using either Noble Phantasm, Soul Edge takes on its “default” form (Soul Edge Male).

Personality: Cyrus has a generally a calm, manipulative demeanor. He is indifferent towards the suffering of others and is willing to kill all those who would stand in the way of the progress of his goals, including innocent bystanders and his own allies if need be. He also tends to disregard people around him as he views them as unimportant and if he hears their names he won't even try bothering to remember them. He fanatically believes that magi (like himself) are inherently superior to the average human being and that they are "weak" but holds nothing but contempt and bitterness for the Mage's Association believing it to contribute to the recessing of magecraft rather then its preservation.
Why do you seek the holy grail?: To revert mankind back to an age where magecraft was generally more powerful and still had importance in the world. He believes once he gets this new world magi will rule supreme by virtue of being the strongest.

Abilities and skills: He is a very skilled and powerful alchemist, he specializes in creating golems.
Likes: His parrot "Sarah", his work, classical music, getting things done with little fuss, and talking nice night time strolls.
Dislikes: People getting in his way, people with an over inflated sense of their importance, technology (like most magi he is terrible with it), cats (he hates those freaking cats), and the Mage’s Association (even though he is apart of it).
Background: Cyrus is a member of the Nidhoggr family, a very old family of magi dating back to the 12th century. Growing up he has been a member of the Clock Tower as long as he could remember but contempt for his fellow magi in the Association for their introverted nature and preferring concealing the nature of magecraft as he believes they were superior to anyone else. Of course he couldn't just leave as the Association provides its members with great amount of resources, stored knowledge, and other benefits which he just can't live without. He lived with this for his whole life in a stagnating organization that never did anything to promote magecraft and his hate for it made him only more bitter about the world around him. One day he was doing some research when he accidentally came across some information about something the "Holy Grail War," intrigued he read on about this "war". He learned that who ever won the Grail would be able to make a wish. Realizing what this meant he began looking around digging up as much information as he could and learned of the Sixth Holy Grail War was about to take place. Smiling to himself the old man knew what he had to do and began making plans to going to Japan.

Personality: Armstrong is extremely nationalistic, expressing the desire to "reclaim the American Dream" going as far to planning on instigating another American Revolution after Liquid Ocelot's Insurrection and the Patriots' actions weakened America. Despite his patriotism, Armstrong holds great resentment towards the "current" America; criticizing the war economy, the mass media, as well as the notion of "American pride". He is extremely cynical in regards to his views of people and especially his electorate, stating that people won't care about if a bad action happens or information control as long as there's money involved or if it's at least given a good spin, such as effective scapegoating. Armstrong also believes the notion that "might makes right." In this regard, he viewed those who were "strong" as the ones deserving of dictating the laws of society, and that the "weak" should be purged so as to create a perfect world. He is very arrogant when in a fight. He also doesn't write his own speeches.

What do they do?:

• When SOP and the Patriots fell following Liquid Ocelot's Insurrection, PMCs acted on the development of what had been previously suppressed cyborg technology. The result was an abundance of cyborgs in the armies of PMCs. Due to the advantage of cyborgs capable of making decisions like other humans, the small unmanned gears such as the Gekko units were generating less favor in regards to urban combat. In response, AT Corp did a 180-degree turn and returned to develop a larger UG capable of overpowering cyborgs and tearing a path through urban terrain using its sheer size. The result was a new Metal Gear codenamed "EXCELSUS", meaning "high" or "lofty," as well as being a species name of the Apatosaurus dinosaur. The vehicle was not armed with a nuclear weapon, instead being designed for the purpose of asymmetrical warfare in light of cyborg development. Although initially designed to be a UG, the final design required a pilot.
  
  EXCELSUS is hexapedal, with additional secondary devices equipped at the front, containing retractable blades, missile modules, and a head with two large plasma cannons. The entrance into the machine as well as the cockpit was an egg-shaped elevator platform. The cockpit itself utilized holograms and VR environments to allow the pilot to operate, as it was completely enclosed. Its controls amounted to some pedals as well as a small controller resembling a game controller. EXCELSUS is also capable of tunneling. In addition, it was designed to be able to bulldoze through urban environments.
• Nanomachines is the general term for machines ranging in size from one micrometer (one-thousandth of a millimeter) to one nanometer (one-millionth of a millimeter) using MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology. Armstrong has an excessive amount running through him to amplify his already physically fit body. Armstrong is capable of supercharging these nanomachines by absorbing the energy from electricity and machinery around him (such as say from EXCELSUS) to allow him to unleash his full power which boosts his physical parameters to insane levels. He he can also used the prana supplied to him by his Master to achieve this state, but this would require a massive amount of it
  
  When they are supercharged the nanomachines he uses harden upon experiencing physical trauma, giving him blackened skin to shield from various blows. The effects caused by these nanomachines made him virtually invulnerable to blunt force. The nanomachines act as self-repair units capable of healing otherwise fatal wounds and even reattach severed limbs, but they also augment his strength, flowing through his body and can even be altered simply by his own will. The nanomachines also temporarily fuse with the skin and muscles to harden the flesh to its absolute limit, which causes the side-effect of turning his affected body parts black with some red near the edges, and also makes his heart and blood vessels stand out to an extreme. It also vastly improved his strength to the extent that he even would give a fully augmented cyborg difficulty in fighting him, and can even cause walls of fire and lava to burst from the ground from him punching it, even when on a helipad (How you ask?).

Skills and abilities: He is in supreme physical condition, which is attributed to playing several sports in college, most notably football. As a former Navy SEAL he is also well adapted to combat both with firearms and when unarmed (he usually fights unarmed for obvious reasons).
