    Thunder.

That was all that could be heard. The quaking thunder which shook the very foundations of the castle. In an instant, the building was ablaze. Sinbad jerked upward from his bed and grabbed his trident. The castle was under attack. Another crack of thunder was heard, and the room exploded. Knocked back from the intense force, he maneuvered around the now blazing flames in his room and exited through the door. He could hear screams of soldiers and the clanging of metal. Looking outside, there was a large scale battle going on. How had they managed to get so close without so much as waking him up?

It didn't matter now, he ran toward the goddess' chambers. So far, they didn't seem to be inside the castle, although at this rate there wouldn't be much of a castle left to infiltrate. Whatever was causing the explosions, it has some serious firepower behind it. Continuing deeper into the castle, he burst through the door...and found himself in the courtyard. ugh. That price really got in the way at times. Although it seemed being here was a good thing, as they broke through the gates. These were just regular foot soldiers. Nothing special about them, but they still had to be stopped. Stabbing his trident into the ground, a massive flood of water pushed through the gate and swept them off their feet. He ran outside into the battle. He may as well pretend this was where he meant to be.

He looked up to see the source of the thunder he heard. The sky itself was literally fighting against them. Massive bolts of lightning struck down at the castle, blowing off huge portions of the stone which formed it. There was no way this was natural. As if on cue, the thunder struck somewhere else. Four bolts of lightning struck the ground, although they did it no harm. They were delivering something. In the wake of the flash, four figures stood. They needed no introduction. Everyone knew who they were. Each of them was an Olympian Throne.

Athena, a beautiful blonde woman, clad in leather armor with a shield on her left arm and a spear held in the other. Ares, a man with an unnatural air of bloodlust. He had long brown hair and a short beard. A wide grin spread along his face at the battle. People were dying, and soon enough, he'd be the one causing it. Standing in the back was the most mysterious of the four. Cloaked head to toe in cloth, massive black wings spread behind him. A mask covered his face, allowing none to know his true appearance. Thanatos, The Agent of Death. And finally, directly in the front of the group stood the man who lead the assault. His white hair and long beard flowed in the wind, as did his robes. Zeus, The ruler of Olympus himself.

"Surrender the goddess to us!" He demanded. Sinbad looked up at him. The air about him seemed to crackle with power. As though he could kill a man by simply standing near him. From what he'd heard about him, that didn't seem unlikely. If he was here...then that meant they really meant business. Ares shouted down at the Union. "Although, if you don't of course, we can just take her! Come on, say no!" He taunted. He honestly hoped that they refused to just surrender her without a fight.

Of course, the ever noble union stood firm. They would defend the goddess to their last breath.

"That's what i was hoping for." Ares whispered under his breath. Zeus nodded his head. Ares leaped from the cliff, causing a crater in the ground as he landed. His veins began to glow with an unnatural orange hue, as though it were fire and rage that fueled his body, rather than blood. Some believed it was. A few soldiers ran at him, but he didn't even draw his blade. He simply readied himself, and grabbed them with his bare hands, crushing their skulls like they were made of glass. A savage laughter escaped his mouth as he charged a phalanx, crashing into it with force that broke their ranks instantly.

Thanatos soon joined the fight, and they stood even less of a chance against him than they did Ares. He spread his wings and flew down. Once he had his sights set onto you, you were already dead. You just didn't know it yet. With a sweep of his scythe, the soldiers that defended the castle were falling by the dozens. These two had turned the tide of the battle completely in the empire's favor on their own, and Athena and Zeus had yet to actually move. Only the most lionhearted of men could believe that there was still a chance at victory. Sinbad turned around, running back into the castle. He had to get the goddess out. This place was lost. They needed to retreat.

The union had stood at the ready, determined to repel the imperial invasion that was threatening them. With sword and shield in his hands, the young union soldier, Paolo, gulped down any of his worries as he quickly charged alongside his comrades. With their blades clashing against the Empire's, each soldier seemed to be even locked in combat now. The young union soldier had managed to push the blade away and managed to get in a good cut on the torso of the enemy he was facing. The enemy, however, was not backing down yet, and with eyes of fury had started to bring his blade back towards Paolo. The union soldier managed to parry the blade with a swift bash from his shield, and then followed up with one final stab, his sword shining with light while doing so, straight into the chest of his opponent. Letting out a sigh of relief, the soldier then looked around and saw that his other comrades were starting to fall swiftly and surely. All of those he had come in to combat with were now long since dead. With a group of four other Olympian soldiers now coming after him, Paolo, shaking from the nerves, was ready to continue fighting onward.

However, something had gotten in his way. Before he could get into a readied battle stance, a bolt from an imperial crossbow had struck directly in the knee. Collapsing almost immediately from the shattered bone, Paolo knew his days as a soldier were over. That was, if he was even able to get out of this situation alive. The soldiers were now encroaching upon his position, and he could do naught but start crawling away. He knew that the end was approaching, but yet he still could not give up the fight just yet. After all, he had to keep going so that he could make the sacrifice of all those who had helped him in his life actually mean something. Then, as if a miracle were to happen, their attentions were briefly diverted elsewhere.

Following their gaze, he saw a man toting around and awkward looking sword, with a cape flowing in the wind. Empire soldiers kept trying to kill him, however their efforts were futile against him. Cutting them down by the dozens, the man then turned to see both Paolo and the empire soldiers there. As continued walking forward, Paolo knew he was to be saved right here, and with it, the empire soldier tensed as he approached them. However, the man stopped, put his sword on the ground, and slashed forward in an upward arc. From that, a large wave of fire was released straight towards the empire soldiers, and due to being right near them, Paolo. Everyone in there was engulfed in flames, and in terrible agony from the fire, their screams blended in with the rest of the crowd as their life had ceased.

"Killing our allies won't make this go by any easier." A snake, perched on the shoulder of the man toting around the weapon, had hissed at him.

The man then gave an evasive side glance, away from the snake saying, "my hand slipped."

Ancel had continued walking across the battlefield, sword at the ready, as the empire soldiers just made it so easy for him. Generally they started to become more elusive as time went on, but probably because of the large crowd that was gathered around here, they kept coming at him. Wave after wave after wave. For example, the squadron right in front of him. Nothing more than just a four or five guys generic grunts sporting swords and shields, two having pikes, and just one guy in heavy armor toting around a giant ax. He casually walked towards them and said, a sly expression on his face as he said, "now don't make me all the way over to you guys. Because then you might just die from the suspense." Looking towards each other, the group charged at him, and hefting up his sword, formerly that he was just dragging along, he swung forward akin to doing something that a batter would do when going for a home run. While the one of them brought up his shield to parry it, the sheer weight of the blade managed to crumple the shield almost immediately and the man behind it had the blade wedged into his torso. Ancel proceeded to let go of the sword, as he lunged forward and punched one of the advancing pikemen in the gut. The next pikeman, right behind him, was surprised as a snake shot out of Ancel's cape, coiling itself around the the mans neck and strangulating him.

Ancel proceeded to roll backwards as the other swordsmen were advancing on him, going back to the first one and retrieving his blade. Hoisting it out of the body, Ancel quickly ran towards the group of people when came to a short stop and swung it from the up, causing another pillar of flame to rage out and engulf them. The snake had made it back to Ancel, after having killed the pike user, and the two were immediately swung at by a large axe. Simply raising his blade to take the blow, Ancel looked to his companion and said,
    "Medea, if you would."

The snake hissed in response as it slithered off of Ancel's body and onto the wrist of the ax wielder. His wrist giving way under the pressure, the ax wielder had loosened his grip tremendously, allowing Ancel to easily knock the ax out of the man's hand, and cave the man's skull in with a heavy swing. Medea, the snake, had slithered back on to Ancel's person as the two watched the Olympian Thrones descend from the sky. As Ancel saw this, a wide smile came over his face and his eyes lit up, only for Medea to hiss,
"no, we are not capable of fighting them. Now is the time to retreat Ancel."

Not really bothering to heed his companions advice, Ancel continued walking forward through the chaos, straight towards the thrones. Passing by a union soldier and empire soldier fighting, he swiftly grabbed and bashed both of their heads together with tremendous force as he said,
"come on, it'll be fun. Don't worry, there's no way some "godlike" entities can kill me."

    Medea sighed as she said,
"Ancel, if you do not retreat now, I will rob you of your oxygen and I will drag your unconscious body through this battle myself."

As another Imperial Soldier came running towards him, Ancel simply pushed both of his fingers through the man's visor, poking his eyes in the process. As the man let out a scream, Ancel simply silenced him with a swift chop to the neck as he pondered on the threat. Eventually letting out a sigh he said,
"fine, I don't want to go through that again. Buzzkill." Turning around to start running back to the goddess, he asked his serpentine comrade, "can we at least take the scenic route?"

    "But of course."

    ------

Having stayed back at the castle gate, Iota saw it fit to keep guard here so that there would be at least some form of defense here, lest the enemy break through. She had been paying attention to the fighting this entire time, and honestly, the more like a regular soldier a person looked like the more incompetent and inept they were at their job. It wasn't long before the enemy had finally managed to break into the courtyard, to which the woman had noticed a man with a trident taking on the invaders quite easily. As he rushed out, however, more Imperial Soldiers had taken the old one's place. Jumping into action almost immediately, Iota jumped down from the ramparts and halted the invaders progress. Drawing her blade and pointing it at the imperial invaders, she said, "you will go no further fools."

The squad of eight generic sword and shield soldiers seemed to laugh at the long swordswoman's declaration. One of them stepped forward and mocked her.
"Oh, and I suppose you think you can take us all on by yourself? That's a good laugh that is, you should comeback with us and become a right good jester for the Thro-" before he could finish his sentence, Iota had closed the distance between her and the man and silenced him. His mouth was held agape as sword was piercing through his mouth, coming out of the back of his head. Removing the blade from the enemy's mouth, the body collapsing to the ground in the process, the other soldiers seemed horrified as an intense glare was seen coming from Iota's one visible eye. While they seemed to hesitate, the white sword wielding woman did not, and ran forward once more, slashing through one more of the soldiers almost immediately. While the other six had gotten over their fear of Iota and blindly rushed at her, only for Iota to slash once at one of their throats, and five more streaks of some white mass to appear over the throats of the others. Within in an instant, all the soldiers had died.

Seeing that the Olympian Thrones had descended, she knew now was the time to retreat and guard the goddess as closely as possible, and as such, ran out of the courtyard back into the castle. As she was running through the extremely dull, gray, and repetitive halls in the castle, she noticed the man with the trident earlier running in an odd direction.
"You there!" She shouted over to him, "Where the hell do you think you are going? I don't know what business you have running towards the dungeons, but the goddess is the foremost priority we have, so go there." After yelling at him, she continued on her way towards the goddess's room.

The battle was heavy as troops were falling one by one. Whether it were from Thantos or Ares or any other Empire scum, the result was fatal. Olvia watched as she ran around the courtyard, her agility proving to be keen in this fight. Her knives were being thrown, avoiding the Union and piercing through the Empire troops. Things would have been okay if the commanders never showed. They could win this fight, but now that the four of them appeared, it was a fool's battle to remain.

"Eun, I know it would be smart to flee, but we need to help some of the troops get out of here. I'll keep living, I promise." The girl seemed like she was talking to herself, but in reality, there was the fox within her, resting in her soul and body. "I know you will live. Your allies will protect you. Just be careful." The fox spoke within Olvia's mental chamber.

Olivia through knives onto oncoming soldiers, allowing extra defense on the road to escape. She wouldn't attempt to fight the commanders though. Next she could see a man with white hair, he about to be attacked by one of them. She through the knife into the opposing shoulder forehead.
"Let's go! You can't just stand here and fi-"

Before she could finish her statement, lightning had struck the castle where she stood. If it were any closer, she would have been fried. Olivia fell onto the ground as she could see 3 enemies coming at her. She was unable to react in time. However, that same man with shining white hair jumped in and defended her.

"I apologize for continuing to fight. You were right to call out." His flesh was unscathed from the soldiers attacks. In fact, not only was he unhurt, their swords all snapped from hitting him. They all looked at him in shock and terror. He punched them all in the back of the heads to knock them out. "Let's go!" He held his hand to her as she took it and they both ran.

"I'll defend you, get back into the castle and find the goddess. We need to escape this battle before we all lose our necks!"
He commanded towards the girl. She only looked at him in aw, but soon she understood and leaped over to the castle, her white tails blowing across his face. "Good. Now for these guys... Man I wish Lion wasn't taking a cat nap right now. Could really use his," He punched a few soldiers as they all tried to attack him, forcing them unconscious, "help right now. Why must he be opposed to this war!"

He continued to aid people getting into the castle, however, he could see Ares coming that way, almost looking to shed his blood. That was a sign to get out of here. He might have the ultimate defense, but his armor wouldn't be able to withstand the power of a god. He ran into the castle, meeting up with Olivia.

"We need to find the goddess."

"I know. I have a strange feeling though. I cant sense her presence anywhere, her sent is covered by ash as well."

"Let's follow that gate keeper. I'm sure he knows something." He spoke running over to Iota in hopes to find a lead to the goddess and a strategy to leave this place.

Amidst the mass of people fighting was a man without a weapon. The man had heard everything going on outside and rushed to see what had happened, before being assaulted by some of the empire's soldiers. Being blind, the sounds ought to have terrified him, and to an extent they did, but his bravery far surpassed his fear, his determination his most powerful weapon. Unarmed, blind, and surrounded by multiple soldiers; five, to be exact. The odds were most certainly not even...for the soldiers opposing him.

The man's name was Akin. He had once had a surname, but he had abandoned that long ago when he had lost everything else. He had heard the voice of the man responsible for his loss. Ares, one of The Thrones of Olympus. Akin felt an urge to simply charge through the soldiers in his path, to rush for Ares and defeat him then and there, but the blind guardian was no fool, he knew that to oppose Ares would mean certain death. No, the smarter option was to take care of these soldiers that surrounded him, and retreat to make sure that the goddess was safe. Every soldier there could die, could fall in the service of their leader, but all was not truly lost until the goddess was taken from them. Should that happen, it wouldn't be just the castle they would lose.

Akin focused his senses now. He had to minimise his focus on the area around him, and focus more on the battle at hand. He was already missing one vital sense, he had to make excellent use of the others. As the first soldier attacked, Akin heard the sound of him stepping forward as well as the sound of the sword slicing through the air. To others, this may seem impossible, but to a man that had trained his hearing to be his greatest tool in battle, this was child's play. The sword never connected with Akin's skin. Spinning quickly, he surged forward with a kick to where he imagined the man's hand to be, making sure to duck down in case the blade was swung for his head, like so many soldiers did. It had been. The sword was dislodged from the soldier's grip, flying away from him and stabbing into the ground nearby. But the soldier would not get the chance to grab his blade. The guardian before him was already on top of him, bombarding him with a flurry of kicks and punches, before he lost consciousness and fell.

The other soldiers had closed the gap now. Akin heard the sounds of three of them moving towards him, and immediately he was prepared. As each of them attacked, he avoided them, using nothing but his sense of hearing to predict where the strikes were coming from. Again and again the soldiers tried to take down this one man, and repeatedly they failed. After a time, Akin retaliated with his own attacks. Several kicks and punches were thrown at them, taking out on of the soldiers. After narrowly avoiding another strike from the second, he turned to face him and lashed out with a punch. It felt as though it had connected with his face. So, he had an indication of height now. He grabbed the man's head and forced him downwards slightly, before raising his own knee and delivering a painful blow to the soldier's face, probably breaking his nose and knocking the man out. The third soldier had the sense to run. Akin could hear the frantic footsteps, the heavy breathing as panic set in. He would not escape, however. Using his special technique he had trained so hard to achieve, Akin fired a sonic wave at the man, hearing it hit him. Upon being hit, the soldier was hidden no longer from Akin, the guardian knowing exactly where he was. Dashing towards the soldier, he assaulted him with a flying kick, hitting him in the back and knocking him unconscious too.

As the fourth soldier from that battle went down, Akin had a startling realization. There had been five soldiers, and he hadn't heard the fifth move. Where were they? He got his answer moments later. He heard the sound of the man leaping into the air from behind him. This was a horrible situation to be in. He wasn't familiar enough with the outer area itself to remember whether or not there was a raised platform that the soldier had leaped from. Instinctively, Akin shot a quick kick backwards, but missed the soldier entirely. So yes, there had been a raised platform of sorts. The only option now was to roll out of the way and hope for the best, but was there enough time? He wasn't so sure. He was dead, he would join the other fallen soldiers here on the battlefield.

You will not fall today, Guardian

Akin heard the voice before he heard the collision. He knew that voice anywhere, and yet others would not have heard anything. He allowed himself a slight smile as he realized what was about to happen.

Engaged in an aerial battle, Gale had been fending off several enemies. The Griffin was a fierce combatant, never flinching and never stopping his assault against the ones that had dared to invade the castle. He had, however, been forced to escape his particular fight. He had kept an eye on Akin the entire time, always making sure his friend was safe, for he knew that the guardian was blind and could not see when an enemy was sneaking up on him; and Gale knew it was entirely his fault.

The second he had seen the soldier sneaking up on Akin and climbing a few steps up a staircase, Gale knew exactly what the soldier was trying to do. Abandoning his own fight, Gale shot like a bullet from a gun straight towards the soldier. The soldier jumped off of the staircase, blade raised and going straight towards Akin. He never hit the ground, however. Gale, flying at a frightening speed, caught the soldier mid jump and raised him into the air. The griffin had no sympathy for murderers, for the scum of the empire; they had lost that luxury the day they killed both his and Akin's family. They had severed any ties to the only people that Akin and Gale had cared about, so Gale saw no reason not to do the same to them. He released the soldier. The cries could be heard from a great distance away, the scream that the soldier let out as he plummeted towards the ground, hitting it with a sickening sound before he screamed no more, nor would he ever again.

Gale flew down next to Akin. He knew that while Akin had not seen what he'd done, he knew exactly what had happened. The two knew each other remarkably well, and while both of them were aware of their combat talents, they were also aware of how cold and ruthless they both were when it came to the empire. The griffin and the guardian knew all too well the pain and suffering that the empire caused, and this heavily influenced their actions. However, one other thing they knew was when a battle was lost. This battle cannot be won. We should retreat inside and protect the goddess at all costs.

Thank you was the response Akin gave, not sure what else to say. The griffin nodded, before the two took off towards the goddess' room.

The red-headed warrior, blood on her hands, flew through the sky, using means no one had ever seen before: A Giant Battle Spider. This made it easy for Blaze to attack from above, looking down at the tiny soldiers below her, having Crystal bounce off walls to get better angles. Blaze huffed, her face nearly as red as her hair, her eyes set on the task at hand.

"Why don't you slow down Earthen, this little battle might be too much for you." Crystal laughed, seeming to have a smirk.

"Hmpf, if you had let me sleep or eat a little more before we had to be dragged in here, I wouldn't be so tired." Her stomach roared. "And hungry."

    "Blaze you are always hungry."

She swung her sword, unfortunately not cleanly beheading one of the soldiers. Blaze groaned. "I hate it when that happens. It's so gross when I don't take their heads off right." She muttered to herself. Friends of that soldier didn't seem to be too happy with her. "Hey hey, why don't we all play nice." Blaze smiled, still standing on Crystal's back. "Why don't you get this one, if you're so prepared." Blaze crossed her arms.

"Gladly, Flamesilocks, just don't get too comfortable, you need to finish them off." Crystal then, spat out her spiders web, using it to tie the soldiers together.

"What do you call an under cover spider?" Blaze asked the soldiers, watching as they struggled to free themselves from Crystal's tight webs. Crystal groaned but said nothing. "A spy-der! Get it! I thought it was funny." Blaze pouted, swinging her sword at another imperial solider, sticking him in the stomach. She hacked on the other two Crystal had tied.

"If you're not going to take this seriously then it's time to retreat." Crystal said, using her web to tie Blaze's foot, letting her hang from under her as she jumped and hopped.

"You're just giving up!? You're no fun Crystal, what happened to 'Never Give Up'. That's our whole matto" Blaze crossed her arms, though she hung upside now. She seemed to be used to it at this point, a frightening thought indeed. She remembered the first time she had to ride Crystal, she was terrified. Riding Spiderback was something to get used to. But she trusted Crystal not to throw her around anymore like she had when they first met. "Hmpf, oh well, I wasn't then interested in fighting them off anyway, I don't mind leaving them there to bleed out if you don't."

"Good, now that that's settled, why don't you try to be quiet." Crystal led them back to the Goddesses Chambers.

On the outline of a peaceful elvish village, far from where the war over the goddess was waging there was a young man. Now this boy was no ordinary elf, no he was the son of the leader of the capital of all the elf villages. He was considered the best archer that had been seen in a few hundred years. He was good looking and well mannered... most of the time. He was building up to be a great leader one day. There was one problem however. Travis wanted nothing to do with politics. He didn't want to be a leader. He didn't even really like people that much. He slacked off and was hardly seen around town.

"Whoo hoo!" Travis yelled out as his long green hair whipped around behind him. The rush of the wind on his face was invigorating. He loved it. He was flying circles around the city on the back of his pact partner, Calor. Although Travis was keeping watch for people who might be up to something, he was also just enjoying himself. There was no greater feeling than flying.

As they circled by a lake Travis set his bow ans arrow down on Calors back as he watched the lake draw closer.
"Watch these for me, would ya Calor?" Travis requested as his feet left the back of the dragon and he dove down towards the lake far below where they were flying. The idea of jumping that far would deter most people, even knowing the lake was deep enough that they wouldn't hit the bottom. However Travis was different, he didn't know fear so as long as he had the sense enough to know what he was about to do wouldn't kill him he would do plenty of dangerous things just for the adrenaline rush of it.

The crystal blue lake drew close and Travis positioned himself for a proper dive. As his finger tips broke the surface he took one quick breath and he was gone from sight, deep under the surface of the water. It was nearly a minute before he broke the surface again laughing. Looking above him for his companion.

As the thunder exploded a young girl looked at the Leprechaun that walked beside her. "Stewert. What was that?" She asked as it cracked again and the entire castle shook. The girl was clearly frightened. "Ay lass that would be the thunders of Zeus. You best be careful and get on his good side. Perhaps we should go see if we can help him in any way, appease his anger." Stewert the Leprechaun suggested as he took a swig from the pint of beer that he carried around with him.

"No! I want to see the goddess. I bet she is beautiful." Rachelle, the young paraplegic girl demanded. This unlikely duo had entered the castle because the young girl wanted to see the goddess, and Stewert, being her pact partner had to go along because in making this pact he was forced to give up his free will. The price wouldn't have been so bad if things went as planned, however this emotionally scarred young girl was growing up to be a lot different than he hopd. He wasn't able to control her or make her bitter. He wasn't able to use her past to build anger and make her something worth fighting with. Instead she lost her use of her legs in the pact and was just a happy little girl, not to mention a little stubborn. However he had provided her something to make the girl worth while.

"Lets just hurry this up lass. I would rather not die today. Perhaps if we bring the goddess with us to see Zeus, he will find favour with us." Stewert encouraged. Though he wouldn't say it directly Stewert wanted more than anything to be part of the Empire. One day he would convince his young pact partner to join their side. After all due to the pact it was her call, but there was nothing saying that he couldn't influence her choices at all.

Celina, the goddess, sat in her room as the thunder shook the building and the screams from the battled echoed through the air. She wanted to go help but she was also aware of the dangers of helping and why she couldn't help. She was the goddess, the one chosen to bare the seal, if she died then the world would go into chaos. So instead she sat on her bed with a staff in hand looking out the window but not seeing. She was blind due to the pact she made with a fairy after becoming the goddess. Before that she was just a young elf girl in a city controlled by the union, trying her best to live a normal life despite her differences with her race. Here she was considered a young woman, but back home she would be considered just a child. Since elves lived for hundreds of years the idea of her being 23 was nothing more than a child. If her home town only knew what had become of her now...

The goddess, one would think it was a high honour, but Celina had learned the truth about it. She curled her legs to her chest slightly tighter as the pain in her body flared up slightly causing a bit of an annoyance. Currently it wasn't too bad, the pain was bearable, some days worse than others but still manageable. However she knew of the possibilities of it getting worse. On top of hat there was a war outside wanting her, she was in constant danger. This life was not what she hoped for when coming to the city, but she was blessed with this honour and would do her best to carry it out with pride.

Soon a little fairy found her way to beside Celina talking in her ear, reporting everything she could not see.
"Thank you Charity. That was helpful. I certainly do hope those you said are coming will get here soon. Oh at this pace it feels like the castle is going to collapse around me, and then what. If I die, I can't imagine what would come of the world." Celina spoke quietly to her companion but also just to herself as she looked on at the battle outside wit her blind eyes. She couldn't see but she knew what was going on out there by the sounds. All this fighting and death for her... it wasn't fair. It wasn't worth it.

"The Thrones!" Jorso exclaimed, drawing Sorrow's Edge in one fluid motion. You. You're the people responsible for what happened, for that attack, for me losing my face, my life, my Talia! That won't go unpunished! My revenge, it comes now! He strode forwards, blade held in both hands with no care for his life at present. The chance he had for revenge right now was good, far too good to pass up. He knew the Thrones seldom left their palace. This was his best chance for some good old fashioned meaningful revenge. Of course he tried to take it.
"My my, he is a handsome one that Zeus." A voice came from beside him. Underneath the mask, he scowled. Lelinde. She never changed. "Look at the biceps on him and that face... To die for. Were he not one of the Olympian Thrones obviously. That fact spoils someone perfectly good looking, for his age at least. Much the same cannot be said of you though, can it dear Jorso?" She gave a mocking laugh that infuriated him further.
"Quiet witch." He snapped. Her commentary had paused his charge for a moment. "That man and his friends caused the ruining of my life! They took my wife from me!" She laughed again. By the Gods I swear I am going to kill her one day that laugh is insufferable! He felt a soft hand on his shoulder as he tried to push forwards towards the Thrones from his position on the castle walls. He heard Lelinde tutting and giggling to herself again.
"No dear that was me that took your wife from you. And I saved her life. And yours. For a price of course." Again with that devilish giggle! Lelinde flicked his leg playfully with her demonic tail as she always did, leaning on him slightly with her mouth whispering into his ear. "Besides, I don't think your wife would have liked having me around, would she?"
"No. She would have hated you. Not to mention the assumptions her and the rest of the town would have made." Jorso conceded. She was right. Whenever they had this argument she always won. Really, it was either he died and his wife, children and the rest of the town with him or he took her deal. Just because she was right however, didn't mean he had to like it, or her. She'd never understand what it was like to lose the person you love as they called you a monster, because of the deal you made to save their lives. They would never appreciate what he did for them that day.
"What are you doing Jorso? I thought you were in the middle of a battle, and you're there just moping." She teased. Jorso growled and shoved her off him provoking yet another laugh out of her.
"Do you ever shut up Lelinde?" He demanded looking furiously at her. Not that she could see the rest of his expression, just his singular baleful red eye. She mocked pondering this for a moment before replying.
"No." She said sweetly, folding her arms. "Especially when mortals are so fun. You've made things ever so entertaining Jorso dear." He shook his head and tried to ignore her, aiming to clear his head with the blood of his foes. And preferably one of the Olympian Thrones if he had the good fortune to go with his attempt at killing one. He charged forwards towards the Gods, leaping deftly down a collapsed portion of the walls to ground level where he could fight the hordes of enemies to reach his foes. As he went he heard a dramatic sigh behind him and knew that his companion would catch up with him soon. It was one of his guilty pleasures, irritating her and forcing her go along with him whenever he did something slightly dangerous. She got ever so annoyed. It was worth it for all the taunting.

Jorso was merciless in his dealing of death. Slice after slice of his sword carved through flesh and armour alike, bathing him in red spurts as their hearts, the very source of their life, forced the precious lifeblood out of their own bodies. Despite his power, he knew he couldn't be out here too long, but he was so close to the Thrones he just had to try. He carved his way through their lines, hacking until he reached a slight clearance. Seeing his chance, he raced towards Zeus roaring his fury to the world. Before he knew it, he was blinded by a white light and felt like he was burning alive, his flesh searing as he was blasted backwards across the castle's courtyard and ultimately slammed against one of the walls. Groaning, he got to his knees and reached out for Sorrow's Edge. He felt a boot slam into his chest and looked into the steel faceplate of one of the enemy. Is this it? Was I truly vanquished so easily? I thought... I thought my power would let me do more than this! As the enemy raised his sword, a black tip spurted through his neck. He fell to the side, revealing Lelinde, who wiped the end of her tail off with something approaching disgust.

"Look at what you made me do Jorso." She complained, hands on her hips. Despite his near death experience, the look on her face was too good not to laugh at as he picked up his weapon and himself from the ground.
"Thank you, Lelinde. You saved me."
"Again." She reminded pointedly. He rolled his eyes, though only half the gesture could be seen.
"Yes. Again." He admitted. He sighed, looking out at the miserable scene before him. He could see the Olympian Thrones causing havoc still, not that there was anything he could do now. I still can't fight them. I honestly thought I had a chance but alone... I'm still powerless. I can't defeat them still.
"Jorso, you do realise we've got a Goddess to protect. Why am I the demon having to remind you, a mortal about your business with the Olympian Thrones?" She pointed out, interrupting his stare. He nodded bleakly. I'll get the Goddess away from here. If I can't defeat them in battle then I'll at least spite them by denying their prize.
"Yeah. Let's go." He said grimly, giving the death and destruction outside a final look before rushing inside towards the Goddess' chamber.

JIn'rael loved the forest. It was in his heart and soul, it was almost foremost on his mind. The peaceful glades, the tall trees and the falling leaves of Autumn. It was beautiful. And mercifully free of people. There was nobody to laugh at Jin'rael in the forest, and that suited him just fine. Beside him, walked Lan'do who had on his back all the stuff they had hunted and killed that they'd sell in the next town. Walked wasn't the right word. Trotted? Maybe trotted. Horses trotted didn't they? He kept walking anyway. It wasn't important. Just because he didn't know the words for some things, didn't mean that he was stupid! Some words and stuff just weren't important. Like sticking to those silly standards everyone else had. They weren't really important either. Why did people insist on sticking to them? It just gave everyone a reason to be disappointed with you. He got enough of that as it was.
"Hey, Lan buddy?" Jin asked. "What's your walking called?"
"I suppose you'd call it trotting. That what horses do, isn't it?" He heard the Shark's voice in his head. Turns out, he could do that. He had to talk somehow because sharks didn't really have vocal chords that worked with their kind of language. All Lan ever made were sort of threatening noises. It wasn't important though. It was always scary when a shark on four legs tries to eat you. There was nothing at all that changed that no siree!
    "Meh. I don't know. That's why I'm asking you."
"Let's call it trotting. That seems to work." Jin nodded in agreement. It just... sounded right. You know? The kind of feeling you get when you know what you're saying or doing is right and you just feel... Right about it? As they walked, they came to the shores of a large lake. It was a very beautiful lake, much like the rest of the forest. He remembered this one. There was a town, or was it a city? Whatever it was it was nearby. And there was a dragon flying above the lake. And there was a person falling off the dragon into the lake. Then he landed in the lake in a big splash and disappeared.
"Did you see that? He fell in the lake! Quick we need to go help him" Jin exclaimed.
"I think he jumped in. Did you see the pose he made as he fell in?" Jin didn't say anything, and the shark clearly took this as no. And also that he didn't know. Which he didn't. "I used to see people do that all the time. It's what they call diving."
"Oh! I know what that is!" Jin said. "It's like when you jump into the water and stuff I get it. So we're not helping him?"
    "No."
"Do you think the Dragon will?"
"Probably. He was riding it. I'd hope the Dragon would help."
"Yeah me too. Drowning sucks. And so does swimming. Especially if you're bad at swimming."
"I think drowning is bad no matter how good you are at swimming in all honesty."
"Yeah, you're right. You're a smart guy Lan." The Elf and the Landshark stood there by the lakeside, watching to see if the dragon actually went to help the man that fell- Dived into the water. Another question occured to him as he watched. Where was the next town? Lan didn't like having to carry everything all the time.

"Thief!" a bolt of purple Lightning arced from the point of the staff and fried the innocent (well kinda) thief who had unwisely attempted to pickpocket the hooded mage. Evan leaned over with malice in his eyes. The village borders were practically empty so nobody came to the thief's aid, and even if there were witnesses nobody wanted to mess with a man like Evan.
"So, what were you expecting to steal? I have barely any money left, and certainly nothing you could sell" as Evan spoke a floating purple eye with writhing tentacles materialised from the shadows
"It's true, we had so much money before he decided to spend it all" Hazzakan explained bitterly
"I bought fifty pairs of boots and threw them into the forest as an offering to the Prince of Fairies" Evan stated bluntly
    "Really?" Hazzakan sighed
"No, of course not... they weren't for the Prince of Fairies" a silent baleful glare from Hazzakan communicated utter distaste "He has enough shoes" during this conversation the thief tried to crawl away "Oh no you don't!" Evan lunged with a blade that appeared from thin air, but before he could a purple tentacle struck and snapped the man's neck "How dare you? I wanted to kill him!" Hazzakan had the man held up in a strong tendril and analysed the body
"You had your chance but decided to talk about shoes, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were a woman behind that mask" Evan opened his mouth for a retort but the skies shook with thunder. Both Evan and Hazzakan looked up, then westward.
"That's no ordinary thunder. It seems our Union friends are in a bit of a predicament"
"Zeus is attacking. Probably something to do with the goddess. Should we help?"
"We could... But we could also not" Evan examined the situation, Hazzakan rolled his eye
"I wish you were an elf, then we wouldn't have to involve ourselves in these stupid wars for the walrus"
"Seal, Hazzakan. Or was it Sea Lion? I can't remember"

The action was intense, Empire and Union soldiers battling fiercely and the gods cutting vast swathes of destruction through the ranks. Several brave soldiers and fighters attempted to fight the gods themselves but all were repelled with ease. While Evan was clearly mad, he wasn't mad enough to risk his life in the pursuit of glory or revenge.
"Seriously? You couldn't find any tea? How will we have our tea party now?" Evan complained to Hazzakan.
"Ahem, shouldn't you be fighting?" They were sat at the edge of the battle and Evan had laid his cape on the ground and summoned a table and cups, Hazzakan reached into the battle every now and then to kill and Empire soldier, although he never checked so it could be anyone "Or at least protect the Goddess"
"The guy who got catapulted against a wall has that sorted" Evan attempted to summon some tea but once again organic matter was somewhat of a problem. "I need some time to rest before the battle" Before he could rest a empire soldier came running towards him sword raised. Evan didn't move and stayed stationary until the soldier was but a meter away, at which point he simply stepped closer, something the soldier certainly wasn't expecting. They collided and the soldier lost his weapon as they fell to the floor "Ooh, shouldn't you at least buy me a drink first?" He joked. The soldier was surprised. He was even more surprised by the conjured blade that Evan held, with its blade embedded in the man's stomach.

"Okay, so I'm rested, let's fight!"
    "At last"

He didn't know who this lady was, but she was a godsend. Sinbad would have never found his way to the goddess' room. He followed her closely, careful not to get away from her as that would result in losing his way yet again. Together, they made their way to the goddess' chambers, evading the explosions of lightning that threatened to tear apart the very building. Looking out a window, he could see that Ares and Thanatos had all but driven the Union back into the castle singlehandedly. What's worse, The other two had begun to make their move. They burst through the doors of the goddess' chambers, and found several other pact makers there. "Glad we're all here. At the very least we could make a nice final stand if it came down to it, but i think we'd all much prefer the option of escape. Anybody got any ideas?" He asked. Obviously walking out the front door wasn't much of an option with the Thrones there. Even with all the pact makers they had, they couldn't win a fight against them. Not right now, at least.

"Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" The young Rachelle rushed her leprechaun companion. "I want to see the goddess and I want to see her now!" She continued to complain.
"Aye shut your pie hole lass we will get there, not ll of us have a set of wheels to move around on like you do. Some of us wee folk have stubby little legs." Stewert replied to the girl not feeling the same urgency as her even though the castle was literally falling down around him. If they died now, well at least he wouldn't have to deal with Rachelle anymore, and that was a blessing for certain. But if they did make it to the goddess' room perhaps they could convince her to leave with them and then he could lead her right into a trap. After all Rachelle wouldn't know the difference to stop him, she would just think that they were going out with the goddess. Yes that would work perfectly, and then he would lead her straight to Zeus and then get his reward and they would join the empire and everything would be perfect. Stewert started wringing his hands lost in his scheming.
"Stewert? Why are you doing that?" The girls question brought him out of his thought and back to the young girl in a wheel chair and the long hall they where going down. "It's nothing lass. Just something I do without realizing it." Stewert explained trying to cover his tracks and the evil grin that had also formed on his face during his time of scheming. "I think I see the goddess' room down there." He pointed part way down the hall.
"Yay!" Rachelle raced down the hall towards the room. Bursting in she stared at the goddess. "She's beautiful." Rachelle gawked.
It was a few moments until Stewert caught up.
"That is very well lass but now that you have seen her it is time to go, perhaps her Majes-" Stewret was cut off when a bunch more people entered the room as well. Great there went his idea.
Rachelle looked around at the people as they came in."Are you all knights? Did you come to protect the goddess? Oh this is like a fairy tale!" Rachelle was over the moon until another crack of lighting and the shaking of the castle brought her back to the real danger at hand. "I'm scared." She whimpered now out of her daydream and in reality she didn't know how to handle things any more.

Celina was still seated on her bed when she heard her door open. The goddess turned around quickly readying her staff as she did. Though the voice she heard was not a threatening one but one of a young girl. "You shouldn't be here child. It is not safe." The goddess explained as another Irish voice was heard. Charity started to whisper in her ear describing the situation to her of what stood in front of her since Celina now lived in complete and utter darkness. Celina nodded slowly, so a leprechaun and a young girl in a wheel chair where before her and a war was raging on outside the castle which would soon be brought inside by the sounds of it. Celina had to stop and think of her options.

As more people filled the room she stood from her bed and faced all of them, one voice coming up among the rest. He talked about finding an escape instead of making a final stand there. Celina simply nodded and did her best o make her way through the group of people towards a tapestry on the wall. She mumbled a few apologies as she blindly bumped into people trying to get to the other side of her room. Once at her location she pulled back the tapestry and started to feel along the wall until she found a brick that felt slightly different. Wrapping her fingers around the edge of it she pulled out a false cover that revealed a strange shaped key hole. She then pulled a necklace out from her top and inserted the small symbol into the key hole turning it until a click was heard and a secret door popped open slightly. She proceeded to open the door for them all. "Follow me. This will lead us out of here. No leaving anyone behind now, no matter their usefulness in this fight we must save everyone we can." She spoke gently as she spoke referring to the young girl who had entered her room first. It was likely everyone else here was part of the guard but there was no chance that she was, she was far too young for it, and without use of her legs no one would allow her in. That brought up the other question of how was she in the castle in the first place, but that could be explored later on. For now her goal was to get everyone out and to safety, and keep herself safe. She knew how important the last one was for the entire world.

Travis pulled himself out of the water and lay on the lake shore a he chuckled slightly to himself. That was good fun, but now it was over and he supposed he should get back to watching the town as soon as Calor came down to fetch him. This assuming Calor didn't get too annoyed at him for pulling the stunt that he just pulled. There was probably about a fifty fifty chance of this happening. Either way he could walk back into town if he had to, Calor would forgive him eventually, he had to, they were pact partners. Even more so however Travis thought of them as friends and typically friends forgave each other right?

As Travis waited he looked across the lake to see an elf and a Shark? Or was it a horse? It seemed to be both. Travis didn't recognize them, they weren't from his town nor were they anyone of importance. Because of his position he was forced to meet far more important people than he ever cared to. However that was life and the reason Travis enjoyed getting out of the town.
"You there." He called out to Jin'rael. "What business do you have here?" He asked. Travis didn't feel threatened or anything, he just wanted to know what everyone was up to, just in case. Even if there was a chance that someone would disturb the peace of his town he would prevent it. Because as soon as it was disturbed it was a lot more work to fix things again, and goodness knows he didn't want that.

"Jorso you never told me that the Goddess was so young." Lelinde commented. Jorso looked around at her with his arms folded. He shook his head.
"Do you ever shut up?" Jorso asked disapprovingly. She laughed, her voice musical. He hated to admit he actually liked the sound of her voice. It came with her species. Everybody thought Lelinde was beautiful and that her voice was so beautiful and everything. Little did they understand how obtuse and frustrating she could be. He looked around at everyone in the room. They were a varied assortment of people, but who caught his eye was the girl in the wheelchair and the tiny man wearing green that accompanied her. An odd partnership, to say the least.
"It appears our Goddess is blind too." The succubus observed. He sighed again, deciding not to actually acknowledge her at this point. His partner was right however. The Goddess did appear to be blind, the way she was trying to make her way across the room. Jorso moved out of the way, accidentally pushing against someone in the process. Not that it mattered of course- The Goddess took priority.

As the Goddess opened the secret door at the side of the room, he considered a problem. How were they all going to fit down the passage, particularly the crippled girl in the wheelchair. They were going to need to go in some sort of formation. The problem was, she wasn't exactly convenient wherever they put her. At the front she blocked their way through, at the back she could be attacked far more easily and in the middle she got in everyone's way. Great. At least the Goddess can walk even though she's blind. That's more than that girl can say. What's the best way of handling this? The middle. Divide the group mostly in front with a few at the back.

"Most of us should go through first." Jorso said. "Then the girl in the wheelchair and then the last couple of people to protect her back." Jorso followed immediately behind the Goddess.
"If trouble comes, stand behind me." He said. Lelinde "oohed".
"My my Jorso, you're being rather authoritative aren't you?" She teased. He sighed for the umpteenth time that day.

Jin looked at the soaked Travis with something approaching happiness. He didn't drown! Turns out, people could in fact swim. He wondered when the Dragon would come down to see how its friend was doing.
"Um, we're... We're... Um, Lan? What were we doing again?" Jin asked. He really had forgotten. It was hard to remember all of these things. There was too much to remember in life sometimes. The Shark made a groaning noise, as if it was thoroughly frustrated with Jin'rael.
"We're hunting Jin." Lan'do reminded him. "We're out on a hunting trip and coming to the nearest town to sell what we've caught."
"Oh, yeah right. That's right thanks Lan." Jin said. "So we're hunting. And we've got deers and other stuff. We've made them into meat and skins and stuff already, just need to sell it all off now. Look at Lan, it's all on his back." Jin pointed at the pack on the Shark's back. There were numerous bits of meat finely cut and various pelts and skins on a large leather backpack and tied to it. It looked rather heavy.
"I'm Jin'rael Kan'do, hunter and apparently the town, no wait, country idiot. So who're you? What do you do for a job?" He gave Travis a jovial wave.
"You're never going to make any friends like this. You're not talking like a normal elf at all." Lan sighed.

"But I just got into the fight!"
"Self preservation has never been one of your strong suits has it?" Hazzakan dragged Evan back with two strong tentacles "If we don't get into the castle we'll both die, and that's not particularly convenient"

"Good evening, or is it morning, I don't care, Good Day everyone!" Evan was one of the last to arrive in the Goddess's chamber
"The Goddess is fairly captivating... for a mortal" Hazzakan pointed out, Evan glanced at her
"Meh, never seen the attraction in women personally" the Goddess opened a secret hatch and people began to file through
"As for the rest of them... I have never seen a bigger freakshow in my life" Hazzakan muttered gazing around at the various people and creatures before them, one looked at Hazzakan with suspicion
"What are you looking at? I am a creature of chaos! Hazzakan! The Destroyer!"
"He made those titles up" Evan pointed out
"Shut up Evan! Go through the stupid passage!" the demon shoved him roughly and he bumped into a horrific looking man with a mask
"Oh, hello handsome" Evan wasn't one to notice such trivial things as looks "Evan Dark, summoner extraordinaire, master of darkness, lord of lightning" as he proffered his hand for a shake
"He made those titles up" Hazzakan interjected, the man ignored him "Mortal, we're lagging behind the rest of the group" Hazzakan pulled him away
"Very well, I'm sure we'll meet again whoever you are"

The fox-girl wasn't the only strange one among them now. A leprechaun, griffin, and even some other strange creatures appeared. They all had to be pact partners with one another. Olivia stood next to Eon as she watched the Goddess reveal a passage way. Her blindness was a hurdle but it appeared the girl had it down. She just needed to master a skill called echo location and her blindness would be a thing of the past. Thats what Eun was telling her anyway.

Once the passageway was open, the only issue ahead was the girl in a wheelchair. The obvious solution was to pick the girl up and someone fold the chair and take it with them.
"Look, I'll grab the girl in the wheelchair, someone else grab the wheelchair itself after its folded flat. We can get through this!" Olivia grabbed the girl and proceeded through the tunnel. Olivia's 9 long white tails brushed across those behind her for a short time before her large amount of agility let her run swiftly through and towards the exit in a quick fashion.

Being human was one thing, having the abilities of a demon fox made life so much more interesting. And now that this was the case, Olivia never felt alone. She always had a friend to talk to. But at the same time, she was really never alone even in situations where one would want it to be just two for romantic endeavors. Eun never bothered until after the fact, so it was okay. People usually were open to the idea of romance given her beauty.

The room was filled with those of many handicaps. Right now, Eon was just glad to be given a price that wasn't so bad compared to these. At the same time, in a war, his price was worst of all. Either way, with the goddess revealed and safe, the pathway shown by her. Eon simply waited for everyone else to leave. He would remain until the end. Once everyone had gone through the tunnel, Eon picked up the Goddess.

"I apologize for this m'lady, but we must make haste if we are to survive this battle. Taking you myself will be much quicker than you on your own." He rushed through the exit with the goddess in his arms. He never saw this coming in his future. He also couldn't seem to find Leon. The damn lion probably already escaped. He must have known that danger was coming and left. Some partner. It couldn't be helped. Eon continued with the group.

After having taken a rather roundabout and blood soaked path to get to this area, Ancel was the last of the people to enter into the room of the goddess, where they seemed to be talking about a few issues. As Mr. Three Pronged Stick began to speak up, Ancel just gave him a pat on the back and with a cocky grin on his face he said, "please, we don't have to run away from them. I'm sure, that we're pretty much all at least, somewhat really strong," bent down and pinched the cheek of the crippled girl talking in a way one talks to babies saying, "yes, even you are probably a little murder machine aren't you?" He stood back up and turned to face the trident wielding man saying, "so, why not just stay here and give a good show for our goddess. One that starts with two sides entering, and one non-Imperial one leaving."

When he spoke about this, Iota had stepped forward and gave him a glare with her singular visible eye.
"Do you understand just who the olympian thrones are, and just how horribly outclassed you are?"

With a shit eating grin on his face he looked at her saying
, "Yeah. They're people. People with pacts if you want to be really specific. And you know who else is? I am, and probably," he pointed at the others with some distinguishing feature or creature saying, "they are too. And if there's one thing I know that a person can do, it's be killed. And you know what's really awesome about pact makers? You can kill one and two things die at once."

Iota simply started to walk away from him as the goddess opened a secret passage to exit through, stating,
"if you wish to let your foolhardiness get you killed, then so be it. But try not to let others pointlessly die." With that, she walked off into the secret passage.

Ancel stood there, rolling his eyes.
"Buzzkill." Having processed what the goddess had said, he then looked over to his snake partner on his shoulder and said, "hey Medea. What does 'saving people' mean?"

The feather serpent let out a sigh as she said,
"it means to make sure someone isn't killed."

"Oh." Ancel thought on this for a few more moments until finally he said back, "and what's the point of that?"

"You really are a hopeless one, aren't you?"

Ancel simply shrugged as he then heard the masked swordsman speak up about the crippled girl. Rolling his eyes, as he was speaking, Ancel started to walk over to the girl to hoist her out of her wheel chair, but someone seemed to already have the same idea as him and beat him to the punch. So instead, he just picked up the wheel chair and started to walk along with everyone. As he passed the man he said
, "don't hurt your brain to much over this. Might ruin that pretty face of yours." He then looked at the tentacle monster that was just sort of floating around saying, "well, that's a new one." With that, he walked through the tunnel alongside everyone else.

Akin simply walked along with the others. He listened for the footsteps, waiting until enough people had passed that most had gone past him, and then he gestured for Gale to follow. The guardian saw no point in a blind man leading the group, and he didn't want to be right at the back, but he had heard what Eon had said, and if the goddess was to be carried at the back of the group, then he would be one of the people to help protect her. The man said nothing, keeping his wits about him and trying to be aware of the noises surrounding him. It would be hard to pick sounds of ambushers among the group that he was with, but if he'd managed to differentiate between allies and enemies outside, he was sure he could do it inside.

    Banner coming soon I swear

As Calor heard Travis' words, the great dragon let out a sigh, causing a puff of smoke to appear before them. He shouldn't be surprised by Travis' actions at this point, but somehow he always thought that the elf's common sense was one day going to kick in. He knew that Travis had no fear, but fearlessness did not mean that every instinct told him it was a brilliant idea to leap out of the sky into a lake; that was just his pact partner's personality. Flying down expertly so that he didn't drop the bow and arrows, he landed nearby his elf friend as he climbed out of the water, and upon seeing the others, Calor instinctively shifted his position so that he was between Travis and the newcomers. You are just a fledgeling at one hundred years, Travis. You are only a tenth of my age, and if you keep pulling acts like that you won't live to make it to that, Calor spoke to Travis, using the mental link forged between pact partners.

Turning his attention towards the newcomers once more, Calor decided to address them. "We protect these parts, keeping them safe from all who would wish them harm, welcoming people that come peacefully and eating those that do not. What town are you from? I've never seen you before, and I have been around here for many years" Calor asked, his tone a little protective but not overly aggressive.

"I don't know! Where did we come from Lan'?" Jin answered cheerfully. That is awesome. The Dragon, it can talk! A talking Dragon that's so, so cool. Like seriously I am talking to a Dragon right now there are no words to express how excited I-
"Jin please keep it down in there I can hear you. It's painful sometimes." Lan'do said none too gently. He felt a bit put out. Sorry Lan. "I didn't want to hurt your feelings you know that?" And we're from Manil." I know man, I know. Nothing gets between a man and his shark! He patted Lan's head before refocusing on the talking Dragon. It seemed like a pretty cool Dragon. He wasn't overly concerned about it trying to eat him. They were just here to hunt n' stuff, nothing illegal. Pretty sure them pooching or poaching or whatever it was laws weren't a thing. Some places had those and it sounded awful. How were they going to eat if they couldn't hunt because some guy wanted to keep all the tasty deer to themselves? Pooching laws were awful. So stupid. Anyway yes, the Dragon.
"Yeah please don't eat me that would suck. We're from Manil it's sort of that way." He pointed in the vague direction they had come from. He knew that much. He sort of knew vaguely where it was but the detail... That sorted itself out. And by that he meant Lan sorted it out. What will I ever do without you buddy?
"I wouldn't be surprised that you haven't seen me and Jin' around. I'm new in these parts comparatively and we tend to keep to ourselves. We hunt a lot as you can see. It's how we make our living. Our Jin'rael here didn't really fit in with people. If you heard of him it was probably because of something stupid he did while drunk. I don't let him drink as much now, but he tends to keep away from the rest of Elf society. He had a bit of a bad experience and as such, I don't know much about this place either and he knows about as much as I do. He just knows where home, the tavern, the shops and the hunting grounds are and the rest sort of goes over his head. I'm the smarter of the two of us if you hadn't figured it out already." Lan explained. Jin rubbed Lan's head as he explained that Jin wasn't the cleverest of the two. It was true and he was okay with that. After all, he didn't need to be smart. It didn't matter who was cleverer, just that so long as he had his Shark then the two of them would be just fine forever! Or however long they lived. Maybe forever? Sure felt like forever. Or maybe that was just the way it felt? Whatever.

As they walked down through the passage, they could hardly see through the darkness. The only thing lighting the passage was a torch Sinbad had lit at the beginning. The passage was long and curved, which would be a nightmare for Sinbad. He stuck as close to the others as he could, so as not to get lost in this tunnel. "So, the thrones found us, and attacked the castle, and here we are escaping from the fight. Although, as lovely as this tunnel is, we should probably think of what we need to do once we leave it." He said to them. There was a clear goal they had to achieve. Find somewhere to take the goddess, and keep her safe there. Well, there was one place that could be thought of as the most safe and tranquil place in the world.

"Unless someone's got a better idea, we should go to Inel'cinahe." Sinbad suggested. Inel'cinahe. The sovereign capital city of the ever-peaceful elven nation. In the elven language, it meant holy star. "They're a neutral ground in this war. The empire, so far, has more or less left them alone due to their refusal to oppose them. It won't last forever, but it's a temporary solution until we can think of something more permanent. King Jedediah has always been a benevolent ruler, if a bit eccentric from what i hear. I'm sure he'll take in a group of refugees."

    ~~Castle of the Goddess~~

Zeus had caught up with Thanatos and Ares, and together, the three of them decimated any opposition in their path. In a mere twenty minutes, they had made their way through the castle. No one could stop them. Higher into it they climbed, until finally they reached their destination. The chambers of the goddess. Entering the room, they found nothing.

"Gah, how did they manage to escape?!"

"It's difficult to say. Perhaps one of their ranks had a means of teleportation. There are more powerful magics than that in this world, after all."

"It matters not." Zeus said, interrupting the two. "The outcome of this assault is irrelevant. If what my brother suspected is true, then we've driven the goddess directly into our trap."

"Oh...? A trap set by Lord Hades..?"

"Hah. The stiff might be creepy, but he's a deceitful little *******. He knows how to make traps."

Zeus shot a glare in Ares' direction for his mannerisms, yet said nothing. It didn't matter after all. "I've sent Athena ahead. She and Hephaestus will be working together for this. Thanatos, you are to return to Hades for orders. Ares...I suggest you prepare yourself. After this battle to come, your lust for blood will be sated once and for all."

"You've got somethin' big planned. I don't want to know what it is. I like the surprise of who I'm gonna be killing." Ares said with a deep laugh.

As Celina was waiting for everyone to go through so she could make sure that the passage was sealed before they all fled. Nothing worse then trying to make an escape and making it blatantly obvious where they had gone. However it wasn't long before Eon picked her up claiming it would be quicker to carry her than for her to walk on her own. "I might be blind but I can still run. I have Charity here to be my eyes for me. She can fly along and direct me just fine as to not slow anyone else down with the extra weight." Celina spoke somewhat proudly. She didn't like to think of her blindness as a handicap and really rather disliked it when people acted like she couldn't do things on her own. She could, the blindness and pain were not that much of a disadvantage once she was used to them.

On their way down one of the men offered a solution to the fact that they needed to escape somewhere. They needed to seek refuge at Inel'cinahe, a town that she once new as home when she was very young. Celina wasn't against this idea, the elves were strong and well trained and also neutral so they often weren't payed attention to in times of conflict, but it would still be weird returning to her own kind.
"Something you should know before we get there. First being neutral means that if we ask them to fight they won't and they will not be afraid to ask us to leave if it seems a major conflict was about to arise. The other thing you need to know is this. By elvish standards I am no older than a child. We lives hundreds of years and see many things. I am merely twenty-three, still a child to them, and so may be treated as one. This is normal it will help us get refuge as long as you don't speak about their ways of treating me. I am the goddess but to them I am also just one of their own children." Celina explained to the group. With that knowledge out of the way they could head towards the town without a problem. Or that was the theory.

Rachelle slapped Ancel's hand away as he pinched her cheek. "I am not! I just wanted to see the goddess!" The young girl protested. She wasn't going to murder anyone. She didn't want to hurt anyone. She just came to see how pretty the goddess was but got caught up in this mess.
"What the lass is saying is that she can hurt people, you see her dolls explode so watch out if she throws one. However she doesn't want to hurt anyone unless necessary. But if that is a problem then we can stay behind and talk our way out of this mess and bother you no longer." Stewert suggested to Rachelles dismay. However before the young girl could say other wise she was picked up by a lady with fox tails and they started to run. "Bloody hell lass. Why'd ya got to go doing that?" Stewert mumbled to himself as he started running after them. "Someone bring her chair I can't be carrying 'er around after this is all over ya' know." He yelled back trying to catch up to them. Luckily someone did grab the chair.

"Your pretty." Rachelle commented as she reached up and touched Olivia's soft hair."Why do you have so many tails?" She then proceeded to ask, obviously not caring that someone was picking her up and carrying her around. It gave her arms a break. Being in a wheel chair all the time with a person too small to push you made it very tiring to get around. Rachelle heard the sounds of war outside once again and asked one last time hoping to finally get an answer. "What exactly is going on right now?"

Travis saw Calor come down to fetch him. Travis simply climbed on the dragons back to get his bow and quiver, placing them on his back before he heard Calor lecture him. "Calor I am over-" He was cut off with Calor already answering what he was about to say, countering it with his own age, treating him like a child of course. Travis shook his head. "Look I know you are just looking out for me but I knew it wouldn't kill me, so what was the harm?" He logic'd as he lounged on his companions back.

Travis tuned back to the man on the other side of the river chuckling as he and his companion seemed to be talking over what they were doing. The elf didn't seem to be the brightest of them all, it was kind of funny really.
"My name is Travis. Son of King Jedediah. As for my job I am supposed to be doing some princely meet and greet town duties I think, but I never show up. Instead of patrol the towns and surrounding areas with Calor, watching for threats. A much better use of my time I thing and lets face it far more fun. So gentlemen, how much for one of your hunted animals?" Travis spoke in a light jolly tone, seeming too proud of his title just surprised that this person didn't know it. He then looked down at his companion figuring he might be hungry too. "Know what make that all of what you have hunted. I will buy all of it right now and you will have no need to go into town. You can continue your job as country idiot." He slid off of Calors back and started to collect sticks while he waited for a price.

As they had continued down the passage, the one with the trident had spoken up and given them a plan. The inconspicuously named town of the elves as a point to retreat to? That did like the most favorable option in this situation, however, there still seemed to be a fair deal of problems with it. The goddess herself seemed to speak the concerns about neutrality with the elves, and how they would most likely be ousted from the village at a moments notice. The situation was much worse than that. If the elves had so much given them any sort of safe passage, and denied any of the Empire then it would essentially be grounds to assume that their stance of neutrality was broken and they would be ultimately destroyed. Granted, save for being nomads which would bring enough troubles in of itself, this was their best option. "There is still another pressing matter that must be dealt with. We need to find a way to deal with the Olympian Thrones one way or another."

"Well, that's simple," Ancel spoke up amongst them, "if we attack them, maybe with weapons if we're feeling ambitious, and hit them enough they'll just drop dead."

"Disregarding whatever comes out of that man's mouth," Ancel simply rolled his eyes at this, "we cannot keep this up forever. Eventually we'll be forced to face the Olympian Thrones if we are to win this war, and we need some kind of plan. As such, we should take care to study them when next they show themselves to us to find out any sort of weakness or vulnerability they might have."

The fox continued to run only to hear the little girl she was carrying calling her pretty and other questions about her. She was flattered actually. Hearing it from men was something she expected. They only said it for lust. But, if a little girl begins to tell you you are pretty, then it was enough to make Olivia blush. "Thank you little one." She said, trying to cover her face with a tail. It didn't work.

Regarding her tails and all, she'd be glad to tell her. Eun was also taking a liking to the girl. She was sweet.
"Well, I have these tails because of the pact I made. I am no longer a human because my partner made her and I as one. I am the first human-fox. I have to make the nine-tailed fox species continue on. I am proud of my tails. They are beautiful, just like you."

Even though they were in a battle and trying to run for their lives, she still could make the little girl happy. It was the least she could do.
"As for what is going on, the Empire is here for the goddess. They are bad people and we have to run from them. We're going to hide at the elf capital." Then a thought occurred to her, how would the elves take to a woman who has a demon fox inside her.

"That might be, ma'lady, but time is little. Carrying you also gives me the chance to be your shield. I do not believe your blindness to be a hindrance, I only wish to make haste. You are younger than I, nor can I imagine you're as quick as I. I shall not take a chance. I will protect you, ma'lady." Eon stated, his expression serious as he continued to run forward.

Once they exited the tunnel, Eon let the goddess down. He bowed politely.
"Apologies for my rudeness. I only acted as I saw best." Next to him, a large lion came walking by. Eon looked at him with a glare. He knew Leon was opposed to the war, but he didn't have to run off.

"Looks like you all were almost purrtrified. You all ran so fast too! No time to paws eh?" He gave a long laugh.

"Leon, we really could have used you back there. The Goddess could have been better protected."

"Nonsense. She is still alive and purring. Don't get out of feline because I disagree with this needless conflict. Besides I was on the hunt."

Eon just glared as the lion continued to pun relentlessly.
"Let's just go to the elves." He sighed, walking forward.
