Rapidshare is garbage, especially for free users. Definitely at the bottom of the file host chain in my book.

 

I'm still trying to figure out why people use rapidshare over mediafire, even megaupload is better.

 

I agree. :/ Rapidshare always make you wait 40 seconds or however long it is, then gives you some **** about their servers being full. It's so annoying.

Mediafire is definitely top of the heap.

 

Yeah, or it's something about you needing a premium membership. Such a hassle whenever you find something you've been lookin' for for ages...and it's on rapidshare.

 

It might be because of /rs/ on 4chan but even so, I agree. In fact I can't think of any file host that is worse then rapidshare.

 

Yet so many people still use it. It baffles me.

 

Well there's always the ones that make it, like, impossible to find the download button, or the ones that *always* delete the files you want.

I got rid of the .gif since it's one of the many things that contributes to this site being slow.

 

You'd be surprised what I've ran through in my time searching the internet. Some are just horrible. Some make you download a few things such as toolbars and whatnot, only to find out that the file can't be downloaded because you need to pay.

Even they call it Rapidshit, and in the same proverbial breath they link to something they've just uploaded there.

I usually use Megaupload; works better, with almost as much traffic. I always praise the lord when someone's had the forethought to use Mediafire, though.

 

First time I went to megaupload, the ads made me think it was a porn site. Thats their other site.

 

Then my guess is because it's one of the older file sharing sites. The premium membership on RS must be pretty damn good for people to keep uploading there.
