No matter what I try to search, it returns "No results found". I have to go to Google to find any old content from this site.

Can you please update the search index? I know it will take days. I know I'm not the only one with memories.

    Rules
    1. You may talk outside of the thread. You should do so. Use PMs, Discord, Skype, or any other method, and add me to any conversations you start, if possible. (You do not have to add me if it is too much trouble.) Makaze#9709 for Discord and makaze64 for Skype.
    2. DO NOT copy/paste your role PM or send screenshots of in-game logs. You may send text logs of chats with other players and you may paraphrase your role, but copying and pasting interactions with me may result in punitive action.
    3. Everyone has a single shot each Night and two Bulletproof Vests (protects from one shot and disappears after use) at the start of the game unless otherwise mentioned in your role PM. Any special abilities are on top of that.
    4. Target Aliases, NOT Usernames. Actions targetting Usernames will be ignored and counted as idle. Submit your actions by replying to your Role PM Conversation with me using the appropriate format. Please bold your actions so that I can see them easily and do not forget to use ##.
    5. Late actions will not be accepted. Pay attention to the deadline and get your actions in early if you cannot be around for end of Night.
    6. Stay alive.

KHV Royale Mafia is not your typical Mafia. It is a free-for-all Battle Royale where the object is to be one of the last three players alive. It is fast paced, requires less effort, and allows every person a choice in how they play.

KHV Royale Mafia uses several new game types.

Check out the first game and second game to talk to the people who played it for more info.

    Everyone Is Mafia

Everyone Is Mafia means Everyone Is Mafia. There is no Day phase in this game mode. Every night is immediately followed by another Night.

Each player gets a factional kill each Night and two Bulletproof Vests (BPVs) at the start of the game. You can shoot anyone or be shot by anyone. You win if you are one of the last three players alive.

Because there is no Day phase and no lynch vote, there is no need for tedious case building and convincing arguments. Do as much or as little as you fancy, so long as you don't die.

    Outside Contact

Users may talk to each other outside of the game thread. You can use PMs, Skype, or any medium you like. Outside Contact is encouraged in Everyone Is Mafia due to the free-for-all nature of the game.

    Anonymafia

Players are anonymous at the start of the game via Aliases.

All players send in an Alias when they sign up. Your Alias is your name in the game. All actions targeted at a player must target an Alias.

The list of Aliases is posted below the Playerlist at the start of the game with no indicator of who is who. You may tell others your Alias. Aliases are revealed upon death.

    Choose Your Own Role

You must send in a character of your choice when signing up to the game. The mod will give you a role that corresponds to the character in your role PM. Characters are not the same as Aliases.

An Alias is a an in-game name that takes the place of your Username when people target you. Your Role is your set of abilities. They may be completely unrelated. Your full player info might look something like this:
It is possible for multiple people to have the same Role &/ Character, but Aliases must be unique to the player.

    Important Terms

    BPV = Bulletproof Vest
Factional Kill = A Shot That You Submit in PM Every Night

    Who wants to play?

If you want to play, post here saying you are /in, and send me a PM with your Alias and Character (with the series name so that I can do research if necessary).

    Lovers Mafia

This will be a 13-player game with an open setup. Days are 72 hours long. Nights do not exist in this game.

SOME RULES ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST GAMES. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE RULES, ROLES, AND GUIDELINES BEFORE CONFIRMING YOUR INTENT TO PLAY. Let's have a good, clean game.

Credit goes to Nova for the bulk of these rules.

    Basics
A basic game consists of two factions, Town and Mafia, each trying to wipe out the other. The Town outnumber the Mafia significantly (usually 3-1 or 4-1), but they don't know who's who; only the Mafia know who their teammates are. The game is over when one or the other side is wiped out. For the Town, this means eliminating every last Mafiosi; for the Mafia, it just means the Town is equal in number to them, at which point they automatically overrun the survivors.

By Day, all the players from both sides bicker and argue and point fingers for a set time; the Town tries to find Mafia in its ranks, and the Mafia tries to misdirect them and stay hidden. At the end of the Day, the group votes to lynch someone they find suspicious; the player dies, their alignment is revealed, and another Day begins.

Night is not available in this game.

    The Lynch
You may vote for a player by saying ##Vote: [Player name]. (Those ##s are important! It helps me find your vote.) You may also retract your vote using ##Unvote (No player name needed for that one). Remember to bold these commands, or they won't count!

As the lynch votes pile on, a lynchee will eventually reach a hard lynch. Hard lynch (1/2 the number of living players + 1, rounded down), also known as majority, is the final nail in the coffin: The Day will end immediately, and the unlucky lynchee will be axed on the spot.

You can vote and unvote all you like before someone hits hard lynch, but the second the deciding vote (also known as hammer) is cast, all votes are locked in.

This is a must lynch game. If a hard lynch is not reached, then the player with the most votes will be lynched at the scheduled end of phase.

If a Day ends and two or more players are tied for votes, then the lynchee will be chosen randomly from the tied players. If no player has any votes, then the lynch will be made randomly from all of the living players. In other words, someone will die no matter what you do, so make sure you know who it is.

    Roles and Powers
Every player is given the role of a character within the game. Some roles come with powers that will impact the game's progress. These powers can be passive, such as protecting you from an attempt on your life, or active, such as the ability to investigate a player's alignment each Night. Power roles affect you even if you don't have one, so make sure you know which ones are which and how they work before you sign up!

    Other Notes
Conditions may change as the game goes on. For one, when the number required to soft lynch is equal to the number of remaining Mafiosi, the soft lynch is done away with. Also, the Town will be notified at Day start if lynching Town that Day will cause them to lose (Mislynch and Lose, or MyLo) or if they must lynch Mafia in order to avoid losing (Lynch or Lose, or LyLo). The difference between these is that No Lynch is a safe move at MyLo (not applicable in this game); at LyLo the Town must either lynch Mafiosi or admit defeat.

And that's about all there is to it. I know it's a lot to take in, but it'll become much clearer when the game actually starts. In the meantime, feel free to ask me any questions you have, either in-thread or via PM.

Tools of the trade (YOU WANT THESE):
And the rest of you should know by now that these are mandatory reads. (IT'S NOT A ToS DON'T JUST SKIM IT, THINGS CHANGE AND THOSE CHANGES IMPACT YOU)
    1. Keep it civil. Our primary goal here is to enjoy ourselves; if the game is stressing you out, I'd rather you ask to replace out than grin and bear it. By the same token, don't go out of your way to stress someone else.
    2. Don't throw the game. Mafia is most enjoyable when everyone plays their best. Frustrated or no, don't just give up and shoot yourself (or your team) in the foot.
    3. Don't talk about Fight Club. THERE WILL BE NO MORE SLAPS ON THE WRIST OVER THIS. BOTH OF THE PREVIOUS GAMES WERE POTENTIALLY SABOTAGED BY PEOPLE TALKING OUTSIDE THE THREAD/QTS. IF YOU'RE CAUGHT, YOU'RE OUT.
    4. No name changes once the game starts. This was requested by a number of players; it just makes things easier on people trying to keep track of others' activity and post history. If you have a name change pending, either get it done before you sign up or hold it off until the end (Probably the first, since games can last half a month or more).
    5. When casting a vote, preface it with double pounds (##). This is new, and it's meant to help me with votals. Examples: ##Vote: Makaze, ##Unvote
    6. No post editing. Not even typo fixes. I know it's a pain in the ass, but it's important to keep players honest and make them own what they say, and this tends to work better than the honor system.
    7. Observe calls for silence. When somebody hits hard lynch, you shush. When it's nighttime, you shush. If I need to pause the game for any reason, I will tell you to shush; you better do it. (Side note: When you die, you get one closing post where you may not say anything about the game or reveal relevant information—So "Good luck Town" or "WHO THREW THAT" would be ok, but "I think this guy is my murderer" or "I'm the Cop and here are my results" would not—After that, it's time to move on and be dead.)
    8. Minimum 5 posts per game Day. And no, I won't count posts where you basically say nothing (by virtue of word count or actual content). This is not a game where you can just pop in and vote somebody on the weekend, it requires focus and attention. On that note...
    9. Pay attention to the thread and your Quicktopics. I'm not going to warn you if you're about to miss posting in a day or sending in a Night action. It's your job to stay on top of these things. Some people have had troubles with their thread notifications, so don't rely on those either! Put the thread on your toolbar if you have to!
    10. Do not copy-paste from confidential sources. This includes PMs and Quicktopics. Not only is this a terrible way to figure out who's what, it's also an unsavory form of metagaming that somewhat takes the fun and strategy out of the game. If you really must reveal info, put it in your own words.
    11. Do not role play. Mafia is much less a story than a game; the flavor is just that, a little extra something for taste. Not to say you can't play up a quirk I've given you (within reason), just make sure you're in your own mind when you make statements or cast votes.
    12. The mod's word is final. I reserve the right to change rules or roles as needed (though of course you will be notified) to preserve the enjoyment value of the game. Contest it if you want, but I can't pretend this isn't a dictatorship; in the end I will make the choice I feel is right, and that's that.
Barring special cases your first offense will prompt a friendly warning, the second a somewhat sterner one, and on the third I will begin searching for your replacement. Please don't let it come to that.
This game will feature the following roles:
    • x8 Town Lover - A Town-aligned role that is bound by Love to another player. A Lover is a player who is linked to you and whom you can have private, out-of-thread discussions with, but whose alignment you do not know. They could be Mafia or they could be Town. What you do know is that if you or your Lover is lynched, then both of you will die, Romeo & Juliet style. Only people directly Lovered to the lynch target will die with them.
    • x5 Mafia Lover - A Mafia-aligned role that is bound by Love to another player. A Lover is a player who is linked to you and whom you can have private, out-of-thread discussions with. If you or your Lover is lynched, then both of you will die, Romeo & Juliet style. Only people directly Lovered to the lynch target will die with them.

Wikileaks recently released over 20,000 emails from within the Democratic National Convention. The contents of these emails prove widespread corruption, including that manipulation of the press we like to theorize about. Among proof of bending over for large sum campaign donors and lobbyists, the usual corruption, they proved that the election itself is rigged. Yes, you read that right. The emails contain clear and undeniable evidence that senator Bernie Sanders was intentionally pushed out of the race by organized resistance within the committee.

The leaks were quickly followed by one of the largest offenders, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, resigning her post as DNC chair.

Who then immediately gets hired by Hillary Clinton's campaign.

What does this mean? It means that we finally have indisputable proof of something that everyone already knew: Your opinions, your votes, your beliefs in the system, do not matter. The opinions, donations, and beliefs of those at the top of it, do. The system is rigged.

Several sites and news sources have been compiling explanations in readable forms. Snopes has the best I've seen, shown here. If you have trouble swallowing this news, please read it. Read the emails themselves if you think it's misinterpreted. Do whatever you have to do to accept that this is a real thing that happened and it's not going to go away when you wake up in the morning.

This one is a little different, but I think you'll love it. Pun intended.

    LOVERS
In Lovers Mafia, every player has at least one Lover.

Each player will have at least one person they are in love with and most will have someone who is in love with them, depending on numbers. That means three people die on your average lynch, but as number dwindle we will see independents whose lovers have died indirectly.

There are a few different scenarios based on these mechanics. Take players A, B, and C.

    A loves B and C loves A, but B does not love C.

    A <3 B
    C <3 A
    C </3 B

If A is lynched: All three die.
If B is lynched: A and B will die.
If C is lynched: A and C will die.

    Back to the basics.

Mafia games consist of two opposing factions: One good team (the Town) and one evil team (the Mafia). The objective of the Town is to eliminate all the members of the Mafia, thereby securing the safety of the town, whereas the objective of Mafia is achieving equal numbers with the Town, at which point they can't lose a lynch vote.

All members of the Town are informed only of their own identity; they have no idea what roles other players in the game may have. The Mafia, on the other hand, has the advantage that they all know each other’s identities. However, the town starts the game with more members than the mafia. For example, in a 9-player game, you might expect there to be 2 mafia and 7 townies. The game is often referred to as a battle between the uninformed majority (the Town) and the informed minority (the Mafia).

The game comes down to whether the Town can sniff out the members of the Mafia before it is too late!

I am going to run it as either a 13-player game with 5 mafia and 8 town, or a 16-player game with 6 mafia and 10 town.

    Who's game?

The embedded fonts on the site (Title bar text, usergroup bar font, etc) are failing to load, so all of those are now defaulting to either system sans-serif (Arial) or serif (Times New Roman).

There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. However, you notice that there is one person tied up on the side track. You have two options:
    1. Do nothing, and the trolley kills the five people on the main track.
    2. Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person.
    Which is the correct choice?

I've tried to find ways around this, like ask another user to spam for me to space out the posts, but it has become too tedious so I think a review of the post merging system might be long overdue.

As a host of a time-sensitive game in the Playground, I need users to get new notifications when I update the thread. I made sure to wait a whole day before posting but it didn't matter; no one realized I posted because merging counts as an edit. Asking other users to intentionally spam post to bump my thread seems like the final sign that the system isn't doing what it was intended, at least not in these sections.

It seems silly to force post merging in these sections because:
    • Posts do not count
    • Some threads require the host to post consecutively within the same 24 hour period and notify everyone who has watched the thread or views "New Posts" of the update
    • Having another user post spam just to bump the thread without merging increases clutter
    • In cases like the above, the feature incentivizes spam rather than the other way around
My request: Please disable Post Merging in the Spam Zone and Playground.

Alternatively, we could decrease the window for post merging to less than 12 hours instead of 24 hours. That should eliminate any problems this might cause in every section including the ones I listed.
