      • Your powers and your classification are everything. Based on how you chose your character at the beginning depends on what benefits and deficits you must deal with over time.

        • Enhancers have the benefit of gaining an extra 5 STA per post during resting (both in and out of combat).
        • Elementals cannot recharge their ENG naturally unless by interacting with the environment around them every post, and if they do, they cannot attack for the turn if they are in a fight. Trade off is that they gain 30 ENG when they do manually recharge and have an extra 5 ATK points at the start of the game.
        • Artificials’ ENG meter doubles as a “durability” meter. In and out of combat, or if they don’t naturally block, their ENG will absorb any damage taken equal to the current DEF stat. Downside is that they cannot recharge their ENG naturally by any means. They must purchase special items from shops to replenish it.
        • Arcanes gain an extra 5 ENG buff during rest, the opposite of Enhancer.
        • Gaians, meaning those that are classified as such at the start of the game, don’t need to use STA and ENG for most of their abilites, and have an extra 5 Base LV at the start. Their trade-off is that most, if not all of their abilities are cooldown-based, and need to wait out before using them again.
      • Throughout the game, each of you will gain different items that will assist you on your journey. Depending on the current conditions, some of these items can be used in the world around you. Keep in mind that your inventory space, however, is limited to your base level.

        • Two types - active and regular. Anything in the active inventory can usually be used automatically in battle.

        • There can only be up to 6 items in your active inventory.

        • New items can either be found by exploring the world, completing tasks, or buying items from a shop with Credits.

        • Any item picked up that cannot fit in the inventory must be either discarded or exchanged. Only take what you need.

        • Key Items usually cannot be used in combat, but can be held on to and used when certain conditions are met.

        • Weapons come in two types. Melee and Ranged. Some will require ammunition to use. The good news is that ammunition occupies the same inventory slot as the required weapon.
        • Consumables are items that can be used and stacked. They are also the only item that can be used regardless whether it's in an active slot or not.

        • Armor are items that when used modify your stats until they are removed.

      • There will be times where you will need to fight. Fighting improves your ability to deal with greater and harder threats later on. Keep your team alive and safe!

        • Players may make as many movements as they need in one post. However, damage dealt defines the energy cost necessary.

        • Different moves can have an additional move cost.

        • Moves must be properly defined. If they are used multiple times, players need to copy-paste the action multiple times.

        • Blocking and dodging can be defined multiple times. They both have their costs, however.

        • Players can equip up to two weapons at a time (Unless one of them is two-handed).

        • Weapons can have up to 5 moves that don’t need to be unlocked.

      • To get stronger, you will need to gain experience. The stronger you are, the more efficient you’ll be in a fight.

        • Stat Points are awarded when a mission is completed or a battle is one. They are used to improve your stats or even unlock new abilities and skills.

        • HP - Sum total of your overall health. Maxes to 1,000, and players can use Stat Points to improve it. Players regain 40 HP per post if they haven’t attacked.

        • LV - Your current Level of Violence. Maxes to 400. Increase this stat to increase your threshold of other stats. Costs 5 Stat points to LV up by 1.

        • ATK - Total modified damage output. Acts as a percentage. Any damage dealt is modified by this stat.

        • DEF - Total amount of damage that is defendable. Acts as a percentage. Any damage negated is modified by this stat.

        • SPD - Movement speed. Acts as a percentage. Dictates the battle order of combat as well as the initiative.

        • STA and ENG - Energy statistics for combat and actions. You regain 10 STA and 10 ENG per post (Not counting classification conditions).

      • There are various shops in Chrinistar. Each must be discovered to have access to it, and your character must be physically at the location to buy or sell items.

Every shop has something different to offer. Make sure to check them often; they may have something new depending on the situation!

Everyone has a role to play in this convoluted game of chess. The question is, shall you make the first move to win the game? Or is there a deeper meaning in all this?

    • > This roleplay follows the rules of KH-Vids in its entirety. Treat them as an extension of the rules currently listed.

      > This roleplay is rated above PG-13. Thus, swearing is allowed to be slipped here, and any sexual and violent themes that pass PG-13 rules should be put in spoilers. If things get too hardcore, it doesn't belong, and I won't allow it.

      > If you're confused on something, contact me either by a DM here on KH-Vids, or send me a buzz on Discord. There is nothing worse than to make a mistake when it could be clarified so it can be avoided.

      > 1 character per person.

      > Wish to kill off a character? Ask me AND who controls the character first before you start throwing dangerous magicks around.

      > No Godmodding or metagaming allowed in any capacity. I get angrier for every 'missed' attacks or 'movements that don't count'.

      > Mary or Gary Stues are not allowed. Every character has a fatal flaw, and an all-perfect character is a boring one. Give your character some depth.

      > Posts should generally be 1-3 paragraphs at minimum, but I won't penalize you for putting in the extra effort. Just make sure to put breaks in between paragraphs.

      > Each player is given a week per post. I understand that some of you have obligations, but if you're going to be too busy to participate at some point, let me know, and I'll move on.

      > Give respect to earn respect. We're all fellow RPers here, and the best stories are made when people work well together.

      > I, or any administration I see fit to appoint, reserve the right to change or modify rules as needed.

Chrinistar City sits close to the edge of the Florida peninsula, just off near Tampa. Thanks to the Alyx Wave, part of the climate shifts between arid to humid on the dime, with Purgos and Downtown landlocked by a small desert region and Arkadian acting as a coastal shirk. The only viable port in and out of the city by freshwater trade means lies in between the territorial halves of Purgos and Corps Row, Downtown and Kings, and running through Teslar, dividing the latter to east and west.

      • The semi-rural part of Chrinistar, given in honor of the founder of A-7 and the 5 Gaian Physic Laws thanks to his continued contribution to superhuman society as a whole. Makes up 35% of the city’s land, and by Teslar’s wishes, he willed it to be his land as a haven for his last and now defunct project, the Teslar Academy for Superhumans.

Otherwise somewhat green land with a few sparse residences, bus stops, and areas of interest.

        Landmarks
        • Teslar Academy of Superhumans - Ermand Teslar’s last project before an early retirement; a means to allow Superhumans to enter the workforce with their powers as catalysts for coexistence. This place was ground zero for the Chrinistar Timestop, which caused Teslar’s resignation of A-7 and the boarding school becoming desecrated. Built by the headmaster’s own abilities, it’s an academy with crumbling rooms supposedly bigger on the inside, and rumor has it that it can support well over 500 students despite its modest size. Around the back of the academy looks to be similar to an arena of sorts.
        • Rowland Forest - A small plot of forest that surrounds the Academy and leads to the cemetery. Not thick enough to be overtly dangerous, but not small enough to get lost, this forest sticks out like a few sore thumbs in the sparse territory.
        • Teslar Cemetery - Local cemetery near Teslar Academy. Most of the departed were people that the headmaster supposedly knew personally.
      • Residential district of the middle-class and well-off. Not too many sights aside from many houses that dot the coastline that borders outward of the city. Many great (and infamous) families live, or have lived here in the past. The second smallest single district in the city.

Border territory, occasionally rains there more often due to being near the coast.

        Landmarks
        • Valin Residence - Home to the only current resident and ex-vigilante, Theodore Valin. He is the elder brother to Rex Valin, the supposed perpetrator of the Chrinistar Timestop, forcing him to stop being a vigilante. The rest family left because they couldn’t face the “disgrace” left behind by their youngest son, while the eldest remained, hoping his youngest brother could be pardoned. Maybe he has clues to what happened?
        • Evernathy Residence - Home to Valencia Evernathy. Her husband had passed from a cardiac arrest during the Alyx Event and her daughter was killed during the Chrinistar Timestop. Now, she’s a broken woman on the brink of depression, pills, and perpetual grief. Valencia claims that her daughter and Rex Valin were apparently close, and the latter had made a promise to the mother he couldn’t keep.
      • Inner city, twin district to Cardiff. Contains mostly the middle to poor class. Likened to almost be similar to Queens, New York in some respect. The territory being closer to Downtown makes it a partial place of commerce.

Busy territory with bustling streets and crowds.

        Landmarks
        • Maxwell Prosthetics - Home to Arnoldo Maxwell, and key area to improving technology. The story goes that Maxwell not only started the shop with his father, making prosthetic parts for the poor since he was 10 years, but he also went to Teslar Academy before it shut down and he was close friends with Rex Valin. Otherwise, he’s a valuable source of information and technology… For a price of course.
        • Black Oracle Tavern - Somewhat seedy bar with musical entertainment stage. A lot of anti A-7 and anti Church supporters come here to drown their sorrows. Others have stories, some pertaining to more… particular slabs of information.
      • Inner city, twin district to Kings. Contains mostly the middle to poor class. Likened to almost be similar to the Big Apple, New York in some respect. The territory being closer to Arkadian makes it a partial place of entertainment.

Busy territory with bustling streets and crowds.

        Landmarks
        • Cardiff Battledome - Home of the sport of Jetskate Soccer and host to many later legal gladiatorial combat matches. On the surface, a lot checks out, but everyone knows that the owner, Amadeus Karthage, tends to run his own, more illegal gig during “special nights”, as he calls it.
        • Ellsee's Nightclub - Popular night club out of the twin districts, sporting a top-tier dance floor and even karaoke rooms. The Vacuoe Twins, two twins with music control powers and a mad taste for music, frequent there as DJs. Both are graduates from Teslar Academy and each have plenty to say about what happened there.
      • Capital territory and second largest district in the city. All major policing forces and political endeavors reside there. Busiest part of the city overall, dawn, afternoon, and dusk.

District is the busiest of both Kings and Cardiff combined.

        Landmarks
        • Arthur Chrinistar Town Hall - Home and office to the mayor of the city.
        • A-7 Council Sector-1 - HQ and Capital of the council of seven that delegates and polices superhumans. Sits behind the Town hall, and is structurally like a barracks. Able to house at least an entire military force. Depending on how you approach your problems, these guys could be your best friends or worst possible foes.
      • Considered “Port” district of the city, and third-largest territory on the map. Despite its industrial nature, it’s considered the second poorest area on the map. Not a lot seemingly goes on here… if you can overlook the occasional drug smuggling and black market deals.

Port district with the only source of a freshwater trade route in the entire city and one of the dividers between the east and west parts of the city.

        Landmarks
        • Scardino Casino - Home to the superhuman crime boss of the European mafia, Dom Scardino, and his daughter. While a bit more proper in the 21st Century, they aren’t too above making underhanded deals to benefit “the family”.
        • Abydos Hotel - [DATA REDACTED]
        • Edison Docks - Only port in the city. Easy area for smuggling, along with a few nearby warehouses for shady business.
      • The true poverty district and the smallest piece in the city. It comes as no surprise that Purgos is both the most overlooked and uninhabited part of the entire city. This slab of territory is known to be home to the cultists belonging to the Church of Eight Hands, but nothing can be done, because the mayor is worried about causing mass panic simply to siege a near-empty piece of the city.

Composed of poverty, abandoned streets and desecrated areas, and one of the dividers between the east and west parts of the city.

        Landmarks
        • Church of the Seven Sovereigns - One of the few churches still under operation despite the mass poverty surrounding it. Despite too many diverging religions, the building and their pastors remain under the guise of their one true god and Christianity. However, there have been some rumors regarding that it’s a front for the cultists, the actual Church of Eight Hands, and supposedly, it came under new management after the Chrinistar Timestop resolved. Try not to take this area lightly.

    ☉ Chapter 1 - Baggage

    - - -
    Date - March 2nd, 2021, 05:45
Location - Corps Row District, A-7 Council Sector 1, Prison Block A, Cell 103

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Prisoner Processing

A knock was heard at the cell door. Sgt. Terrence Kelly, aged 35 and in service for 3 years at A-7, slid open the small metal peephole into the dark cell, peering for his current assignment
“Prisoner A-721, today’s the hearing. Time to get up and at ‘em.” He grunted through the hole. Prisoner A-721, however, did not move. Instead, he sighed, rubbing his eyes, blinking upward. The guard tried again.
“Come on, man,” He said, formality slightly breaking. “You need to get up or the Head’s gonna be on my ass. Get up, make this easier on both our lives, so that I can open the door, make sure you ain’t got nothing suspicious on ya, and take you down so that the men upstairs can bug you about nonsense ‘till you can come back here, and I can get my fat paycheck.”
The prisoner looked to the guard with incredulous striking deep brown eyed look meeting the guard’s own deep blue.
“Hold up, who said anything about a fat paycheck?” The prisoner responded, sitting up from his cot with a tired smirk. He sounded much younger than the sergeant.
“Just received a promotion not more than a few days.” Terrence responded. “And I’d like to keep it, if you don’t mind.” The man tilted his head through the hole. “So are we gonna get this over with..?”
A-721 simply nodded. He stood up from his cot as the lights activated their white lights in the room, illuminating a chrome colored cell, with a toilet, a small desk with some paper and pencils, and a modest cot that folded into the wall. The prisoner folded his cot inward to the wall, and stood facing the door, raising his figure to a T-pose. Terrence, seeing this, promptly shut the peephole, swiping his keycard on the card reader.
“Opening Cell 103!” Terrence called. The door slid open with a dull mechanical whine, opening to reveal A-721 in the flesh as the sergeant stepped in.

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Safe Room 1

Despite his age, A-721 stood full height at 5’11”. He had pale skin, 2 tones lighter than average, not too tan, but not too light, sitting somewhere in between. His hair was raven-black, curly and messy, with some strands falling over his own face, as if no matter how much he groomed, they remained in their exact manner. He wore a grey jumpsuit with a marking of the A-7 council’s symbol on the right side of his chest, an encircled hand holding a handful of lightning bolts and scripture tattooed on the wrist, and his prisoner name on his left. On his face sat a tired grimace, as if his smile faded with age, and wire-rimmed, beveled square glasses, sitting in front of deep brown, almost abyss-like eyes, with slight marking of bags, as if he had one too many nights of insomnia. A-721 always looked and acted like he lacked sleep.

According to the file that Terrence read when he first gained post in guarding A-721, the prisoner’s Occuli supposedly turned a heavy crimson when his powers were used, but the soldier rarely ever saw his ward angered by anything, even other prisoner’s shenanigans during recess, and a mechanical Ordinance collar around the boy’s neck prevented his LV from ever going higher than 1, rendering power use near useless and impossible. Not to mention, the prisoner had suffered trauma, so he could only manifest only the Occuli in his right eye. Not that he ever attempted.

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Safe Room 2

A-721’s track record in terms of behavior was flawless, and because of it, he was transferred from the rowdy Prison C Block to the much more lenient Prison A Block in less than 6 months. He rarely caused an issue, and complied with all procedures during more stressful events, never even disobeying the guards, including the ones who were so power drunk to start abusing the prisoners in some cases. No, A-721 was extremely docile. Almost to the point where he was lifeless.

Granted, he did have a personality, but it almost seemed like a shade of one. Outside of Terrence’s initial brief, he knew very little about who he was guarding aside from his initial crime; breaking the 2nd Gaian Physic Law of Time, stopping the entire US for 25 minutes and 13 seconds in a bubble that not only was caused on the end of Mavericking that resulted in inconsistencies, but weakened his own power to almost nothing. Terrence spoke a bit about his life as a means to help garner more information, but it yielded close to nothing from the closed vault that was Rex Argus Valin, youngest of a family 4 and runt of the litter.

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Checkpoint

Sgt. Terrence entered, holstering his M4 to his back as he began to pat down his prisoner for any weapons, even though he knew Rex wouldn’t have armed himself. Though the boy never revealed much, he had no motive to escape. Every part of his demeanor said that he wanted nothing more than to live out his sentence in peace. It’s been 4 years since he was sentenced, and with 1 more year to go, it was about time again for Rex’s yearly hearing from the Council of 7. As the sergeant finished patting Rex down, he stepped back, taking his M4 again to low-port carry, and motioned his head to the prisoner to follow. Rex obeyed, following the sergeant out of his cell.

As they entered the hall, lined with rows and rows of mostly empty cells, two other nameless guards came up from the rear as Terrence took out a pair of chrome-like ring handcuffs, turning around to Rex. Rex, who knew what came next presented his wrists, to which the soldier secured each ring on Rex’s wrists. A light on one of them went from red to green, followed by a metal hum as the two rings forced Rex’s arms together. As long as the prisoner’s LV was below 5, they would be unable to force the magnetized cuffs off. And so, Terrence, Rex, and the two guards bringing up the rear navigated the halls, toward the North Gate. They passed the South Gate without any problems, past security screening as the heavy metal doors of the gate closed behind them.

“How are the kids?” Rex suddenly asks listlessly to Terrence. He was referring to the sergeant’s children, whom the latter told Rex a few months back.
“Billy’s beginning to speak rather well.” Terrence replied. “Felicity and I are planning on getting him to start school early because he’s learning so fast and we’re running out of things to give him as input. As for Molly...” The man grimaced a bit. “I’m a bit worried how she’s developing. She just turned 5 not more than a few days ago.”
“Ah.” Rex stated, eyes fluttering. “Congratulations.”
Terrence scoffed half-heartedly. “Yeah well, growth is all well and good. We’re just worried she’ll...”
“Develop as a superhuman?” Rex asked, finishing Terrence’s sentence, causing him to look sidealong at his ward, nodding.
“She hasn’t developed powers yet, and Felicity and I don’t have the superhuman gene in either of our family lines,” Terrence said. “But with the chance that regs can still produce a superhuman child in this day and age, and since it’s impossible to know, I’m worried that we’ll be unable to handle it.”
“You still love your daughter, no?”
Terrence’s face contorted into one of incredulity. “Of course I love my daughter!” He exclaimed. “I’d never trade her for the world! And I can deal with her being a superhuman just fine, thanks. You’re literal training wheels for that.”
“I feel honored.” Rex’s tone held salted amusement.
“It’s just that I’m worried that Felicity won’t.” Terrence continued, his tone more leveled. “She’s had a bad experience with superhumans in the past and she’s just wanting to be a good mother. As for Molly, it’s a matter of whether her abilities would be a challenge should we need to register her and if it’ll change her for the worse.”
“Terrence.” Rex said. He had stopped, causing the sergeant to stop and turn back. This little stop, however, didn’t sit well with one of the guards bringing up the rear.

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - The Cantina

“Hey, keep moving, scum.” The soldier to the left replied, his voice only made harsher by his radio synthesizer. He tapped Rex’s back with the side of his rifle barrel. Rex’s eyes lowered to half-lids, looking back to the instigator. Normally, he’d punch people like them. But now wouldn’t be the time nor place.
“No, it’s fine.” The sergeant reassured waving his hand to try to allow Rex to speak his piece. But the soldier wouldn’t budge.
“With respect, sergeant,” The left soldier replied, “This one has an appointment with the A-7’s themselves. And last I checked, they have a tight schedule. So they can’t afford to make time for a criminal to do whatever. Especially superhuman scum like him who stopped the world to a crawl.”
“And last I checked, you have a lot to learn on your first day here, Private Micheals.” Terrence growled, stepping past Rex. “Do you know why this scum that you refer to isn’t sitting in C Block? Because he doesn’t act like an entitled little **** like you, newbie.”
The private took a step back, surprised.
“Yeah that’s right. I know you and your buddy are new.” Terrence said, arrogantly, and with every reason to be. “I’ve been taking care of this one for at least 2 years now, going on 3. So I know every single soldier tasked to this post in rotation. You both also keep your battle goggles on, which also gave it away that you're new to this. Let me both give you a pro tip; you only get to walk my shoes when you learn how to give respect. Obviously, Basic training hasn’t taught you any of it. So you know what?” The sergeant glowered at the two. “You can both take a hike back to Block C for the rest of your shift. I’ll take A-721 to the North Gate on my own. Now get the hell out of my sight.” He motioned with his trigger hand, making a sweeping motion. “Shoo.”

Rex knew that Terrence was a Drill Sergeant when he served the US Army 4 years back before entering under A-7 contract, but rarely had he seen a guard defend a prisoner out of sheer respect. Still, he said nothing, watching almost boredly as the scene unfolded. The left soldier, dumbfounded at the response, said nothing. His right counterpart on the other hand, only sighed tiredly, replying, “Yes sergeant. Right away.” He grabbed his partner, saying. “C’mon, bub. This is what happens when you can’t keep your damn mouth shut.”
Terrence only tsk’d as the two privates walked off in the opposite direction, leaving him and Rex alone.
“You were saying?” He inquired, facing back to the prisoner after the soldiers were out of earshot.

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Safe Room 3

“...There is nothing worse than treating a child differently because they’re not considered normal.” Rex continued, as he began to walk forward, eyeing the sergeant, moving in front.
Terrence followed, bringing up Rex’s rear as he listened. “There is nothing in this life that defines ‘normal’. Nothing in my life nor yours classified as normal.” Rex looked to his jailer. “How you raise your child is how she’s going to define herself in this world. If you treat her like some sort of freak, she will never see her as enough for those around her. Or, she may even consider herself too much to the point where others will fear her.”

Current Track - Underhell Chapter 1 OST - Safe Room 4

They reached the end of that hall that opened into a room leading to the North Gate, wide and spacious like that of the South Gate. 4 guards stood firm in each corner of the room, observing the newcomers.
“You and your wife are her parents. Her guides.” Rex stated, not in the voice of someone with exhaustion, but in a voice of someone who held wisdom beyond his age. “Love her and teach her to cultivate her gifts and rise above her flaws. Guide her, and she will make your proud, superhuman or not.” He looked sidealong to Terrence, a thin smile forming across his face. “Believe me. I know. My folks never learned to teach me, instead opting to snub who I was. Now, they get to pay the price for it as their embarrassment. Hmph.” He grunted at the thought as he approached the North Gate entrance.

The sergeant could only stare at Rex, surprised at his words. Despite the boy only being 21 years old, Rex’s words gave away more depth to his personality than any of what the 3 years of guarding him had garnered. It also gave the soldier some comfort, knowing his fears were not unfounded, and granted him some extra confidence to what his family had ahead. He followed Rex, standing beside him, waving to the gate operator on the upper rail to open up the North Gate.
“Thank you, Rex.” Terrence said earnestly. To his surprise, Rex gave him a patient, yet sincere smile.
    “You’re welcome, sergeant.” He replied.

The North Gate, which led to the front of the A-7 Barracks and led into the Town Hall, opened slowly with a dull grinding of gears, pulleys and levers. Soon, the Gate sat wide open, an open maw leading to the Room of 7.
    “North Gate, Open!”
Terrence patted Rex’s shoulder. “Well.” He said. “Show must go on. Let’s get going.”
Rex, however, did not move, his face becoming downcast and out of vision of the sergeant’s sight, causing the sergeant to look back in concern at his prisoner.
    “Rex?” Terrence asked.

The boy looked up a bit, and a twinge of pity was felt in the soldier’s stomach. There was a small light now in Rex’s eyes, but they seemed to be almost dying, as if that whatever compelled Rex was slowly dying out, the boy seemingly only relighting his spark for this moment. He spoke.
“Y’know sergeant, you’ve been very good to me for these past few years I’ve been locked up here.” Rex said, his usual insincere tone replaced with one of almost longing. “You’re a respectful man, and from what you’ve told me you have a loving wife and family. My advice to you is to spend as much time with them as possible.” He looked down to his hands. His right one had begun to tremble, as if he’d remembered something, using his left to grapple it and calm down. “...Any moment you don’t have time to cherish, you’ll regret not having spent it, even ones that you don’t put much stock into.” He looked back up to the sergeant giving a sad, almost forced smile. “Maybe in another life, we could’ve been friends. I would’ve liked that.”
Terrence blinked, unsure what to make of what Rex was saying. He instead played it off with a playful scoff.
“Well thanks, man I really appreciate it!” He replied. “Maybe we still could after you finish your sentence. Hell, maybe the Council may consider letting you off the hook early for making my job easier!” He laughed.
Rex didn’t laugh with his jailer. Instead, his face became further downcast. When he looked back up again, his face was cold, almost emotionless.
“I hope for your family’s sake and for mine, that you’ll choose a safer occupation than this.” He said quietly. “I don’t think Gaia will allow me to stay put any longer. Not after today.”
Terrence’s good vibes faltered a bit. “W-what do you mean-?” He asked carefully.

Just as Terrence had finished his sentence, the emergency klaxons began to sound.
“Attention! Massive power surge detected! Tier 4 anomalous power surge affecting facility systems! Main and reserve power systems compromised...-“
The loudspeaker’s female voice pitched awkwardly downward as the lights began to go out one by one. Soon, the North Gate entrance sat open and in the dark.

    Darkness.
Soldiers shouting, running to and from their posts, trying to find the cause.
A metallic hum of struggling cuffs, and the breaking of a metal Ordinance collar.
An impact is heard in the sound of a heavy punch.
The sound of heavy beeping of various LV detectors on soldiers raising above LV 50.
One crimson Occuli glows in the dark, like a monster’s eye.
    More shouting.
Clicking of safeties off on various M4s.
Shooting, accompanied by the smell of belched rounds and smoking barrels.
More punching is heard, some accompanied by the sound of broken wrists and legs and soldier’s cries of pain.
    Silence falls.
    The smell of gunpowder remains.
A retreat of footsteps, hurrying at an even pace, leaving their one chance of redemption behind in the smoke of combat.
A late outcry of one who’d never accept the cards he’d been dealt.

“To live without hope is to cease to live.” - Fyodor Dostoyevsky

    Date - April 12th, 2021, 15:32
Location - Corps Row District, A-7 Council Sector 1, North Gate, Office 31

Nicholas Jafreet sat in a office chair in one of A-7’s many office rooms, flipping a coin listlessly, metallic clinking the only break in the silence of the room as the skin of his finger met metal. He was sitting in front of a television screen showing footage of nearly 1 month ago, the current frame right as the power outage occurred; 0600 hours precisely. He’d seen the footage about 12 times at this point, knowing what happens from to back. Right at the moment that Rex Valin, his so-called model prisoner, had waltzed out from the North Gate scott-free amidst the confusion that was the attack on the Sector that morning, a Tier 4 power surge that knocked out both the main and reserve power system, also hitting 1/3 of the city’s power grid as collateral.

And because of the entire situation, never in Nicholas’ career as Speaker of the Council of 7 had he been more stressed. And no one, not even the Council’s best electricians and brightest scientists could figure out how such an event happened or why, and currently it doesn’t help that the top brass is breathing down his neck and the current hired help of vigilantes isn’t enough to search for one man. Rex, for all intents and purposes, had vanished.

Gaia must have been smiling upon Nicholas to some degree, as no one had gotten hurt. Apparently the target of the attack was A-7, as most of the bulk of the anomalous surge was directed toward the barracks, and during Rex’s escape, he was gracious to allow the soldiers who pelted him with hundreds of 5.56 NATO rounds in the dark to live another day to see their families, including a certain Terrence Kelly, currently now Staff Sergeant.

Nicholas grew tired of flicking the coin, catching in a fist, his blue eyes temporarily flickering to a royal purple as he felt the coin crushing into itself. Nothing added up about that day. Rex was supposed to serve a 4 year sentence with the chance of 1 year early parole, for his crimes and 3 years into it, being docile as can be, suddenly a coincidental event comes along, opportune for a superhuman like him to waltz out and he takes it? He couldn’t have planned this.

Which is why action needed to be taken. Because of what he did and what he was capable of he was public enemy number 5, right behind the top 4 people of interest in the Church of Eight Hands, Rex needed to be detained and questioned. Nicholas himself couldn’t do anything about it, what with the growing concern of the instability of Temporal and Dimensional Fractures. Supposedly, after the Chrinistar Timestop and Rex’s subsequent arrest, the Fractures, rifts in time and space that usually went in an outward direction, had somehow become more frequent in occurrence. They were also becoming larger and more difficult to resolve.
The Church of Eight Hands were also another problem; Sarkic cultists who worshiped the goddess Yaladabaoth and wanted to bring her back along with the dark ages with blood rituals and sacrifices of the flesh. This made them the most dangerous individuals in the city, and they were growing in numbers significantly by the day.
Thirdly and lastly, the city was falling into further turmoil with regs protesting to eliminate the ‘superhuman’ threat. 21 years later and there was still no ease in tension between supers and regs, and seemingly had only gotten worse.

No, Nicholas’ hands were too full. Rex definitely took priority, but he needed to be dealt with by an outside party. A-7 simply had no manpower to spare at the moment. He looked back at the manila folder on the table, eyes once again skimming over the four profiles in front of him. He fished through his pocket, taking out his phone, dialing on it, then putting it to his ear.

“Lily?” He said. “Yes. Right. I need you to make a call to a certain officer at the Chrinistar PD.” He looked over to the top-most profile on the folder. “Jay Rompaye? Yes. Yes. Tell him that the Council requests his presence as soon as possible. Thanks.”

The year is 2021. 21 years ago, a massive wavelength known only as the Alyx Wave turned 8% of the world's population into superhumans, forcing the world to adapt, creating the 5 Gaian Physic Laws of Reality, the classifications that defined the superhumans, and the A-7 Council of Superhuman Affairs that policed them.

Welcome to Chrinistar City, Florida. You were not at ground zero during the event, but you’re still technically at its center.

4 years earlier, after the events of what became known as the Chrinistar Timestop, a boy is arrested for the event, for the crime of killing one of his loved ones, pursuing vigilantism without being of age, breaching the laws of his power, and destroying the reputation of the founder of the A-7 Council, forcing the individual to retire.
All seemed well. Or so most think.

The murderous cult, known as The Church of Eight Hands, has risen further to higher power, and most of the vigilantes hired by the government are spread too thin to stop them. Occasional rifts originally caused by the original Alyx Event have become more common and unstable, dangerous even. The perpetrator of the Chrinistar Timestop has escaped.

Everyone has a role to play in this convoluted game of chess. The question is, shall you make the first move to win the game? Or is there a deeper meaning in all this?

    • You are in Chrinistar City for your own reasons, whether you like it or not. You know what those problems are. How they affect you and those you speak with whom know of your situation is up to you to decide how you will settle them.

However, the Speaker of the A-7 Council has called you or brought you in against your will simply because of one thing: His worst possible prisoner is missing, and at the worst opportune time. One-way dimensional and temporal tears that were once as regular as accident avoidance have become more frequent to the populace to the point where collateral damage is stacking up. A murderous cult of superhumans trying to bring back their Eldritch goddess back has a new leader, and proving to be impossible to handle. Overall, it doesn’t help that there may be a civil war because superhumans and regs just can’t get along.

One thing is for sure. The Speaker of A-7 seems to know what may be going on. And if you do this task for him, maybe, just maybe, you might have a chance to settle whatever business you have later before whatever hits the fan. Hopefully.

      • You are one of the lucky 8% of the entire world to have superpowers. On the plus side, you are 5x stronger than regular humans in every respect, even without your powers. On the minus side, you’re classified based on the powers you have and people are allowed to detain you if you decided to do something unsanctioned. There are 5 Classifications in the world of Impetus. Whatever classification you choose, your power must reflect that.

Enhancer - Your own body is your self-enhancement. You can either modify or transform your body like it’s a tool, or otherwise empower or depress people of their vitality.

Elemental - You’re a conduit, a living battery, capable of controlling the physical element you are locked to, be they calm waters, unrefined flames, the deepness of shadows or all spectrums of light, you output what you possess.

Artificial - You’re born to be one with artificiality. You are either capable of understanding of technology or any kind or era to an alarming degree or you can produce technology from your very body. As a by-product, you have more iron in your body and blood.

Arcane - You are a contract or an agreement. You, through the power of the unexplained and using glyphs, can become monsters of myth or even harness the power of demigods. Naturally, under normal circumstances, these abilities aren’t normally yours and the capabilities tend to fall in a grey area. Doesn’t stop you from making it your own, though.

Gaian - You are gifted and burdened. You are either naturally gifted beyond your years to be capable of destroying the planet with raw, unrefined power. Or, the powers that be has granted you a power that breaks the 5 Gaian Physic Laws, rules that govern the world we live in. Whatever the case, you are a force to be reckoned with, both by those naturally beneath you and those you call kin. (I will only allow one of you, maybe two, to take this classification. You can probably guess why.)
      • Your chosen path acts like a sort of “filler” to help get your story going. It’s your past, but it doesn’t have to be your future. You will, sooner or later, have to confront your past while dealing with the main events of what’s going on. Entries here will be added or removed, and each one is first come, first served. Choose wisely.
        • Test Subject - You are a lab rat, either as an ex-convict on death row or kidnapped against your will. If your captors say jump, asking how high will potentially terminate your contract. You were to never ask questions. As of now though, you’ve been given a new lease on your “life” due to recent events.
        • Undercover Agent - You’re one of the few people that like to play cards close to your chest. Unlike most liars, you’re the best at telling half or parts of a truth to get the information you need and write the story as you see fit. As a result, you receive a special message from an interested 3rd party for your rather unique skill set.
        • Turncoat - For one reason or another, your last team did something that made you decide to call it quits. They weren’t happy, and you either vanished quietly, or barely escaped with your life. Either way, you’ve been shunned and branded as a traitor. It just so happened that another faction decided to take the opportunity to take you in when they did.
        • Former Mercenary - You’re not fazed by killing. Ever since you’ve been handed your first paycheck, you’ve always been the go-to individual to clean up others’ messes. However, after finally putting that life down after a decent career, Gaia decides to throw you for a loop and an excuse to drag you back in. At least the pay’s good.
        • Charlatan - Let’s face it; you’ve had to lie, cheat and steal for at least most of your life to get by. It’s not an honest living, but it beats starving. However, as a result of your sticky fingers, you may or may not have ended up with a crowd that could prematurely end your streak.
        • Martyr - You are supposed to be the “chosen one”. You’ve been groomed all your life by those who coddled you as a cherished pawn to be promoted, a prized piece of the puzzle. And now, you decide it’s the best time to prove your worth.
        • Normie - You are really nothing special. At least, not by adverse standards. You make an honest living, and it tends to be mundane. Just the way you like it. But your life is missing that little bit of spice that makes it fascinating. Gaia decides to give you that opportunity and dial it up to 11.

☉ Power: By touching a computer of any kind, he can use the energy in his own body in order to hack into it and gain access. However to do it remotely he needs to get at least to the firewall on his own device
      ☉ Classification: Artificial
☉ Personality: Jaycob likes to think that he is perfect in every sort of the word. He is attractive, he is smart, he has an awesome skill with computers, and lets face it, who
☉ Short Backstory: At first when Jaycob manifested his abilities, he was labeled a freak. At the time he was top of his class, doing great, popular and everything a boy could want. However when he started realizing his powers and trying to show the other kids, instead of being impressed, they feared him. He tried desperately to gain their approval, but throughout the years failed. Amidst such failures, he did find one group of friends that would take him in. A gang really, but at the time Jaycob had not realized this. They had been nice to him, took him in when no one else would and encouraged his powers. It started as tests on his friends computers, hacking into them, seeing what he could do with this knowledge. Then it turned into pranks, hacking computers of people that pissed him off and doing harmless things. That turned into blackmail, which eventually turned into extortion. Without realizing it, his friends, and his fun and games turned into something much more. Jay found himself in the middle of a criminal organization, a tool of theirs, and he wasn't the first. Apparently it was common for them to send younger members out to find the talented in order to bring them to their side. Still they helped him, they were fun, they made him feel worth something and made him feel powerful.

Jay stayed with the group until he was 27, but that was the point that he had had enough. The crimes were getting bigger and he was seeing less of the profit going to him, despite him doing most of the work to get them in there. It was when they wanted to extort a business that employed thousands, and drain them of all their money that he decided that he wanted out. Jay's father worked for the company as one of its executives. Though he didn't talk to his father much at that point, he knew that a hit like that might cause him his job, and Jay never wished that on his family. He tried to convince them to do something else, hit somewhere else, stop the operation, but they refused. He tried to blackmail them, threatening to take all their information to the police, but they believed he didn't have the guts for it. After all, he was as much of a criminal as they were, he would get in just as much trouble. Jay took this as a challenge, walking out with his laptop full of information to turn into the police.

In the end, of course, they were right. He was arrested for his deeds with the organization, but with the help of a good lawyer, Jaycob was able to strike a deal. With his knowledge and skills on hacking he could do a lot of good for the police force. In exchange for his freedom, he was to work directly for the police as one of their own, helping in any case that might specifically have to do with cyber crime. Jaycob was good at it, and what was even more surprising was that he enjoyed it. Being an officer helped protect him to some extent from those who wished to harm him after he turncoated, and the job gave him the challenge he needed. It didn't hurt that he could more easily pick up girls, and guys, in a uniform either.

      ☉ Classification: Enhancer
☉ Personality: Guarded and constantly alert, but otherwise very friendly. She's quick on her feet, but still pretty naive when it comes to basic knowledge. Her voice is soft but she is by no means shy.
☉ Short Backstory: Despite her birth name being Lily, most people don't know that. In fact if someone called her Lily on the streets she'd be unlikely to respond. She's gone by the name Spectre since she was thrown out on the streets alone at age 10, when her powers blossomed and freaked her parents out so hard they got rid of her. She quickly became resourceful, stealing to survive and getting herself some places to stay the night no problem. Like a lot of homeless in the city she goes by an alias so no one can snitch, but her powers are identifiable enough where she can't keep out of trouble too easily. Spectre has two rules about her thefts: no stealing from other poors, and no stealing from those who've shown her kindness (the second she adopted later after an incident that made her feel guilty).

Spectre is usually kind enough and out of the way no one messes with her. Even in the Purgos district, though she avoids there as much as she can so she can remain ignorant of what exactly is going on there and not get roped in. She jumps in to help anyone who's gotten themselves into unexpected trouble and loves giving tourists directions when they find themselves lost. Normally her antics keep the police looking away cause of the lack of harm she causes herself. Doesn't mean she isn't good at getting herself caught in enough situations where she may have bit off more than she can chew.

☉ Short Backstory: Life had never been anything that Zeke had any control of. His birth parents had dumped him in an orphanage once they realized that they couldn't bear the burden of having a kid to raise. He lived out those days in relative peace until he reached the ripe age of 16, where an accidental discovery of his powers had forced him to flee the orphanage that had been his home for years and seek out a home elsewhere.

It was a short-lived ventured as word of his "incident" had reached some certain ears and Zeke soon found himself "adopted" and taken to his new home. The next three years for him can be easily equated to hell as what awaited him was a series of experiments and tests to fully draw out his powers. Out of the initial ten people, he was one of the few that managed to survive, changing the color of his eye as a permanent mark of this. His test typically consisted of grueling trials in hopes of drawing out more of his powers, power he struggled at first to properly control. They gave him a means of channeling it to prevent needless destruction fo the facility, but it only resulted in harsher treatment.

Still, he endured and was rewarded one day when another freak accident caused by one of the other patients short-circuited the whole facility and amidst the ensuing chaos, Zeke was to find a way out and back to the outside. Since then he's always kept a watchful eye out, in case someone from the facility might've been watching him once again.

☉ Character Name: Danni (Daniela) Hensley
      ☉ Gender: Female
      ☉ Sexuality: Demisexual, Lesbian-Curious
      ☉ Age: 21
      ☉ Appearance: zip
☉ Eye Color/Occuli Color: Eye Color- Sky Blue Occuli Color: Cyan
      ☉ Chosen Path: Normie
      ☉ Starting LV:
      ☉ Power: Electricity
      ☉ Classification: Elemental
☉ Personality: Artistic with her guitar, seems stand-offish at first but warms up to those she gets to know. When she feels adventurous, she likes to get out of her shell and really express herself, but that side only really comes out around close friends and in shows. Other than that, she seems socially awkward and stand-offish, refusing to shake hands with strangers unless she's wearing special gloves, or touching them physically. People who know her make jokes that she's a germaphobe which is not the case at all.
☉ Short Backstory: Danni seemed to grow up in a household that was normal enough; she had a mom, a dad, and an sister ten years older than her with a "firey" personality. Her sister was a fire elemental, and proud about it. Danni remembers not seeing her around often at the house, and waking up in the middle of the night to arguments that would erupt in yelling matches. Sometimes she would hear the walls and floors banging like someone would get in a physical fight, but it would end with her dad breaking it up. Danni tried to get close to her sister, drawing her pictures or offering small "gifts" like flowers or a pretty rock she found, but they wouldn't spend much time together otherwise. Her sister didn't like to be home. One night, the fighting got so bad, Danni crawled out of bed to see what was happening, only to be met with a wall of fire. Her sister was unhinged, screaming at her parents she was going to kill them. When she looked like she was going to send a fiery blast at her parents, Danni remembered stepping in the way and putting her arms out, which made her sister stop a little too late. Danni's left arm was singed, but the look of horror in her sister's eyes will be forever engrained in her head. Danni's sister was arrested, and she was out of their lives forever.

A year after this incident, when Danni was around seven or eight years old, strange things began to happen to this rather normal girl. The lights would turn off or on before she would touch the light switch, she started accidentally shocking people all the time on contact, her hair would get frizzy and crazy on days of thunderstorms, her clothes always seemed to be staticky, and she could sometimes make the cat's hair stand up on end all over in a poof ball with a single poke of the finger. Her parents worst fears were confirmed, and Danni had to be registered. Remembering the incident that happened with her sister and bearing the scar of the incident on her arm, Danni swore she would never be like her and kept everything under wraps. She learned if she wore rubber boots, the shocks wouldn't happen as much. Gloves were next. Hugs became a thing of the past, and handshakes and any other physical contact was off-limits in her head.

She tried to be a good daughter; help with chores, continue to go to school for good attendance and grades, tried to be an active member in the community, but it never felt enough. Her mom was going to therapy constantly due to what happened and was on heavy medication and would be asleep most of the time. Her father chose to work longer hours and was never home anymore. Danni felt like she was alone and isolated in her teen years and often struggled with her own thoughts and confidence in herself.

When she was old enough, Danni moved out with her electric guitar, and her cat black cat Suduko. She got a part time job at a coffee/tea shop, and does mini concerts and shows with a band that goes by the name of Fate's Showdown. The shows is the only time her gloves and boots come off in public, which helps with interesting effects if she gets into her shows.

I’ve been debating for a while now to start a new roleplay since I have gotten back. Paradigm Shift was gone then, and responsibility once again had taken over and I locked out. But you’re not here for explanations. You’re probably here to know what this thread is about.

As it turns out, Paradigm Shift was actually a successor to something greater; a story that I have been writing and revising for nearly 6 years in the background and it’s still not quite done. But in its state, I still need to test the interactions in the story. In Paradigm Shift, my goal was to test interactions between players and how they reacted to the world around them, including NPCs, societal rules and how players would follow or break them, or even sudden changes in situations.

It was supposed to be a long game. But that never happened. Now, you have a chance to roleplay something somewhat shorter and more linear, but still similar to the old thread in some ways. Keep in mind though, these features are subject to change. I still need to make preparations

    • How will things be different in this new roleplay?
    - For those of you who played, you’ll still have superpowers to utilize, but the medieval aesthetic and SAO inspired feel to the game is no longer here.
    - You WILL have a chance to become at least pretty strong with a character, either at the very start, or gradually as the roleplay continues, if you feel it should continue.
    - There will still be some combat, but it won’t be turn based anymore and won’t be limited to a few attacks per turn. I intend to allow players to make as decent amount of attacks in a fight as possible (Hopefully. I’m still working on a system so bear with me).
    - Plot is to be a bit more linear, the game world is to be smaller, and it should be a bit more visual this time. Since this is technically a story I’ve been writing and I need to test if it works, there will be places that are a bit more fleshed out and easier to navigate. No more needless walking filler.

So overall, my questions to you all are if any of you who read this would be interested in participating, be you returning from Paradigm Shift or if you’re a new player looking to play something different?
Do you have any questions or concerns regarding the roleplay or how this will be more different than Paradigm Shift?

Please. Take the time and /discuss. Thanks.

I’ve been making music for up to 5 years. First on my phone with FL Studio mobile, and eventually with FL Studio Desktop, doing mostly remixed or revised tracks to original works. I’ve come a long way. And finally at long last, I wish to show the world the fruits of my labor. This thread is simply a showcase of tracks that are worth the mention. If you’d like to check out the rest of my portfolio, simply check the profiles from whatever links you click, be they SoundCloud, YouTube, or Bandcamp.

Mind the dots by each of the tracks. They tell what kind of track they are.

    • = Ambient Tracks
    = Melodic/Downtempo
    = Aggressive/Uptempo

= Bronze Standard. Not quite bad, but likely to get a revise in the future.
= Silver Standard. These songs are good as-is, and may recreate them if people like them enough.
= Gold Standard. These tracks are polished off and made to impress.

Some of these entries are condensed because KH-Vids apparently can’t accept more than 5 embedded items in a single post, so the main topic will remain as hyperlink central while I update the thread with any new release I have in store.

    .: Paradigm Shift :.

Welcome to Paragon, a new VR experience that initiates players in a full-body experience into the world of Paragon, a land of magic users and practitioners. However, a dark force plagues the land, who is the new king, or Paragon of the land, by the name of Malfore. In this world, you can live a life of honing your magic, or joining in the fight against Malfore.

At least, that's how initially was going to play out. But then again, nothing in life goes according to plan.

    ---
In here, you will mantain your spellbooks and abilities and sets. Be sure to check here before a battle or moving on, as changes happen frequently if not annually.

    • .: PART 1 :.
      • Between the 4 Territories is a grassy stretch of land known as neutral ground. Surrounding the area are the towns of Vashti, Asia, and Moira. Some ways beyond Moira, there is a natural patch of ground configured like that of a miniature battlefield, dubbed the Paragon's Ring, where casters from all around have went there to prove their worth.

People of all diversities live in the Great Expanse, and societal life is a melting pot of culture and magic learning. People speak as one voice in the middle region.
        • To the North: The Lux Territorry.
        • To the South: The Gaian Territory.
        • To the East: Malfore's Peak.
        • To the West: Tempus Graveyard.
      • Dominating the Northern part of the land lies the desert region of the Lux Territory. Only one major town, Sobek, sits at the foot of a large pyramid, known as the Tomb of Enlightenment.

People whom live in the Lux Territory are known Earthen or Light magic users, but racial hate for the more darker aspects of magic has been flaring up ever since Malfore had become Paragon. Beware of those whom despise dark arts when traversing the unforgiving sands.

        • To the North: The Ocean.
        • To the South: The Great Expanse.
        • To the East: The Pyrus Territory.
        • To the West: The Darklands.
      • Covering the Southern part of the land is the lush forests of the Gaian Territory. The Gaia Tree, nearly half the size of a certain Mt. Everest, stands tall in the middle of the forest, with a bustling town of Avas running up and down the trunks.

People in the Gaian Territory are known to be naturally friendly to the more creative aspects of magic, and shun the more destructive types, fire magic included. But they otherwise have a deep-seated bond with the tree that provides for their every need, and invites those to share that bond.

        • To the North: The Great Expanse.
        • To the South: The Ocean.
        • To the East: Malfore's Peak.
        • To the West: The Aquos Territory.
      • The trading capital of Paragon, the Pyrus Territory is well-known for it's passionate people, it's stone-and-beach sights, and the hard bargains of trades. The two towns of Ignis and Cauz make up the trade routes around the other territories, leaving the Pyrus Territory wealthy.

People in the Pyrus Territory are more known for fighting first, and asking questions later, and write off being a genius as being a detriment. They've been in a sort of cold war with the Aquos Territory opposite to them, due to politics. However, there is some conspiracy lurking around the territory, especially considering that the land borders Malfore's Peak.

        • To the North: The Ocean.
        • To the South: Malfore's Peak.
        • To the East: The Ocean.
        • To the West: The Lux Territorry.
      • The wellspring territory of knowledge, the Aquos Territory is a land of learning and experimentation. While the area is always raining due to the climate, the area is known for procurring the greatest minds to exist in Paragon, and is the centerpiece of politics and records alike.

People in the Aquos Territory are more pragmatics than fighters, and snub those that lack intelligence. They've been in a sort of cold war with the Pyrus Territory opposite to them, due to politics. However, there is some conspiracy lurking around the territory, especially since the population keeps vanishing. Reports of the disappearances near the Tempus Graveyard.
        • To the North: Tempus Graveyard.
        • To the South: The Ocean.
        • To the East: The Gaian Territory.
        • To the West: The Ocean.
      • The Outer Slabs, or outer territories, are uncharted spots of land that have more of a negative reputation, depending on whom you talk to.

To the West of the Great Expanse and the North of the Aquos Territory is the Tempus Graveyard. This patch of territory is a land of ruins, with broken clocks and hourglasses of varying sizes to buildings to children's toys. The land is uninhabitable, as a curse prevents the soil from growing and sort of sustenance. While many believe that the first Time caster created the respective element here, many are too afraid to get lost in this dreary spot of Paragon.

North of the Tempus Graveyard is the Darklands. It is uncharted territory, and not much else is known about it other than those whom practice the darker aspects seek asylum from the racism of the Lux Territory.

To the South of the Pyrus Territory is Malfore's Peak, where the current Paragon of the land resides. Said to have been shaped by the man himself, his castle can be seen even from the Great Expanse, a looming symbol of dread, as those whom challenge Malfore are never seen again.

        • Interaction: Some parts of the world of Paragon are interactable, be they people, places, or objects. They will typically be highlighted in a specific color to signify their use. Otherwise, objects highlighted in light yellow or light grey signify objects that can be interacted, and objects that need one or more conditions to be met, respectively. If they are in a different color, they may require you to learn a certain magic to get past certain areas.

        • Grist: The currency of the world of Paragon and the means of creativity, Grist can be gained by doing missions or fighting in battle after battle. They have much more value than gold or any valuable metal, as they can be used in the Occuli Space to learn new spells for your aspects, or even fuse ones you've already learned for stronger magics. While there are the more common Shard Grist that remains a staple of the economy, there are Fire Grist, Water Grist, and the like. Their are 7 Grist types in total.

        • Karma: There will be times in the story where you will be faced with a choice, one that can either make or break your reputation with NPCs and even your teammates. While making good choices will earn you Positive Karma, making a risky or poor decision will gain you Negative Karma. Having a lot of Negative Karma will affect your interactions with other NPCs, and they will be less likely to help you in more dire situations, and not making a choice at all may slash your Karma Meter. It is also much harder to gain Positive Karma, as 10 Positive Karma = 1 Negative Karma on the scale. A rule of thumb is to always try to make the right decision. You'll never know when you might be seeing that person again.
        • Spellbook: Your spellbook is your main source of inventory gathering, be they choosing what spells you have, how much Grist you possess, or your current objective. You Spellbook will automatically update here when you learn a new magic or a gain a new task. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE IT.

        Health: 50% | Magic: 50% | Stamina: 50% | Accuracy: 50%
        • General: There will be times when you will be forced to fight. In the event that will occur, your battle statistics will show as follows. The combat functions on a Turn-Basis, meaning you will have time to attack or dodge or defend yourself.
          • You are allowed to A.) Perform 1 Attack and 1 Ability, or B.) 2 Attacks of different Types.
          • The Speed stat typically dictates who attacks first regardless of post. However, there are some limitations to this rule
            • If everyone is of equal speed, the quickest Attack or Ability Type goes first, then it relies on whom posted what first.
            • The order of Attack Type is as follows: Transport > Body > Ultimate > Grab / Shield > Blast / Multi > Healing.
            • The order of Ability Type also has a following order: Dodging > Striking > Blocking.
        • Magic/Attacks: The lifeblood of Paragon and they main means of combat, Magic is separated into 9 Types, each with a different function, and dictates battle order. They are dictated by the Mana stat, and use varying amounts accordingly.
          • Contact - Type that deal damage at a close range.
          • Multi-Projectile - Type that fire multiple projectiles at once. Can be devastating if each one hit.
          • Blast - Type that usually fires one large attack.
          • Body - Type that serves to enhance you physical form by providing a buff to yourself or a debuff towards enemies.
          • Area of Effect (AOE) - Type that can usually effect 2 or more targets at once, and useful against groups. It is also unaffected by the turn order, and is dictated soley by the Speed stat alone.
          • Shield - Type that serves to protect you or allies.
          • Transport - Type that assists to get from point A to B. Can also serve as a means of attack or defense.
          • Healing - Type that replenishes your strength.
          • Ultimate - A special type used typically as last resorts. They usually deal a lot of damage at once and are exhausting to use. They also take the longest to cool down.
        • Traits: Traits are more passive abilities that can be used to help you or your party, conditions depending. While you may only carry up to 3 Traits at a time in a battle, they can be exchanged like Attacks when you're out of a fight, and help with prioritization in going into the next fight. Personal Traits, which only affect the equipped user, while the all more uncommon Party Traits, which affect you and your allies, are much harder to come by.
        • Abilities: Abilities are alternate methods of combat in the event where magic use isn't an option. You may either Strike, Dodge, or Defend.
          • Striking is dictated by both the Attack stat and the Stamina stat. Use this to get an extra hit in if need be to either finish an opponent off or to buy time.
          • Dodging is used with the Stamina stat to prevent getting hit by fatal blows. However, needless dodging will eat away at your energy, and will be left defenseless. Only dodge if you need to!
          • Defending is used only by the Defense stat. By guarding, it mitigates an attack by a set percentage. Raising your Defense stat will increase the defense necessary to prevent blows from becoming fatal.
        • HP: The HP stat tells how much strength you have left, and you lose the battle if the counter hits 0. HP can be raised by leveling up the Health stat so you may start a fight with more health, and to give you an edge. You automatically regain 100 HP per post if you do not get hurt during a turn, but will not gain any HP if your counter hit 0.
        • Mana: The Mana stat tells you how much reserve power you have for magic and is dictated by the Magic stat. It is used exclusively for Magic Attacks. If the counter reaches 0, you will not be able to use any magic until some is replenished. You automatically regain 100 Mana per post if you do not use magic during a turn.
        • Stamina: The Stamina stat is ruled by both it's own leveling stat and the Speed stat. It is used for Dodging and Striking. Without any, you cannot Strike or Dodge until you rest. You automatically regain 10 Stamina per post by doing so.
        • Accuracy: The Accuracy stat helps with attacking and hitting targets. the more accuracy you have, the easier it is to land hits or dish out criticals. While it normally doesn't raise or lower by regular means, there are certain attacks that could lower one's accuracy. You automatically regain 10 Accuracy per post over time.

    • You have just purchased a copy of Paragon. You, and along with a few others begin playing on the launch date, excited to play the newest VR game for the Occuli System.
      Something goes wrong.
You wake up with no memory of who you are and in a cell along with others whom are just as clueless as you are. You as you search your pockets, you find a slip with what seems to be your name, and what looks to be a book with a blue crystal on the cover. The cell is locked, and there seems to be no one else but you.

You need to find a way out.

      » Age:24
      » Appearance: Bloop
» Personality: Outgoing, a bit of a trouble maker, Raelyn likes to just get out there and draw attention to herself in whatever way might work. Whether that is flirting, or causing trouble. Over all though Raelyn isn't a bad girl and if she decides she likes you, isn't hard to be friends with.
      » Starting Element: Water
» Short Backstory: Jumping from foster family, to foster family, Raelyn never really had a family to call her own. The first few foster families didn't pay much attention to her, so Raelyn found herself getting in trouble to draw attention to herself, which ultimately got her kicked out and sent to the next home. As she grew older though she discovered that causing trouble wasn't the only way to get people to pay attention to her. She was a rather attractive young woman, and that also turned out in her favour for drawing attention. It could keep her out of trouble if she was with the right person, or just get her into more trouble. It wasn't until she was 16 that she found a good family that she lived with until she was 20 when she found her own place. In this time growing up however, Raelyn found herself drawn to video games whenever she was locked in the house for the trouble she caused. It gave her an escape, a new life where she was the hero of her own story, important to everyone, so when a new game came out that allowed her to actually be in the game, and not just act on behalf of some ripped guy or the chosen, gifted girl, Raelyn was too drawn to it to pass it up. She found herself in line for the midnight release, waiting to get her copy of the game.

Evie was the daughter of an upcoming politician. She had to go to several dinners with her father for business. She wanted to please her father and help him succeed in the world of Politics. From the way she dresses, to the schools she went to, down to what she ate, Evie obeyed her father's every wish. Sometimes whenever she had some free time and her father was out on business, she would spend most of that time either drawing or playing video games. One day, she was walking by her father's study when she had overheard her father and what appeared to be another politician, discussing various topics. One of the topics, however, was to have an arranged marriage between the politician's son and Evie. Her father had immediately agreed and she was shocked. After a few days, Evie was still a little shocked but she tried to keep her mind off it with the fact a new game would be coming out. She was so eager to play that she counted down the time until the game launched.

      » Appearance: Oro
» Personality: Straightforward and honest. Gale has no problems when it comes down to talking to people, but can get a little self conscious about his tendency to pick up on a game easier than others and withdraw himself from a conversation. Otherwise that same tendency is a source of confidence when he's gaming.
      » Starting Element: Fire
» Short Backstory: Whether it be an escape or a way to cope, video games have always been there for Gale which in turn allowed him to be quite skilled at them. The flip side of this however is that it brought about a stigma with him that haunted him throughout his middle school years. During that period Gale had avoided picking up any new games in an effort to lessen the scornful glares that he had gotten from some of his peers. It served to be a decent temporary solution, but the lingering flame remained a lit and could only be quelled by games. Now in his highschool years, the game that everyone was talking about was Paragon, which greatly held his interest. Although he was hesitant at first, he decided to pick it up once he'd saved up the money for it.

But underneath it, he means really well, as his pragmatism acts as a coping mechanism. Underneath that sharp exterior is a heart of gold. He's also very observant of others and things, which has helped him in more times when it came to technology issues.
      » Starting Element: Fire
» Short Backstory: Born into a middle-class family, Rex was a problem child from the start. While he was more than capable of receiving top marks in his studies, he found little reason to do so, and ended up only scraping through his years of grade school. Now, with his parents in his hair about finding a job, and the need for a college education, Rex wanted more than anything to escape his own reality, as he felt it had no other meaning to continue. He was depressed, antisocial, and found no joy in his life other than his videogame exploits and his personal projects. When Paragon came around however, Rex had ways to get around. He had a friend who had an extra copy from the game and managed to convince him out of the copy. Rex is about to get more than what he had originally bargained...

Though whil her family was more drawn in by shooter-type games and strategy types, Jaz found herself more drawn in by RPG's and joined a lot of roleplay guilds in other MMOs. She loved getting lost in the characters and putting on new personas for each new character. This didn't really result in problems for her in school since she still did Theatre, so she never felt like a social outcast for gaming, though she never really talked about it. When she was in college, she distanced herself from gaming for a bit of a "time off" to get her act together and focus on schoolwork. He didn't discriminate, he just felt attracted to them for their looks, brain, personality, or skills. To him, it didn't matter what they called themselves. He himself was not truly a man, but he was not truly a woman either. More of an inbetween, dressing in either's garb and keeping his hair long. Of course, he could never reveal this true side to his parents. They were devout Christians and would never allow this. So, for the first 18 years of his life, Inna did as he was told around them, but he secretly used his crummy desktop to post messages online and reached out to several people whom he could call best friends. After he was sent off to college, Inna was able to flourish and is now into his sixth year studying medicine. He hadn't had much time to play games ever since the school year started, but he sure wasn't going to pass up this opportunity. All he was going to do was play a couple of hours anyway.

    WELP.

It's been a while, KHVids. I haven't seen most of you guys ever since I left the Discord.
I honestly don't remember why I left in the first place. Maybe because I've run out of roleplaying ideas? Because my hype for Kingdom Hearts had died down? Hell if I know.

But, I have returned. I have walked through every one of my past endeavors, both failed and successful I've seen familiar faces here and there, and I have decided to make a proper return this time around.

On a lighter note, another reason I made a comeback because the other forum I frequent is based around a children's building game and has a very unsavory community. So I'n making a secondary excuse to return. |=]

SO! How goes it, guys? Any more singing competitions? New and exciting stories or roleplays to be had?

Since the end 2015, I've been posting consecutive remixes of various video game tracks or movie soundtracks. Some are of trending tracks, other tracks off the top of my head.

    Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Remix of the main theme from in the movie 28 Days Later, and the first track I released in consecutive order. It's long, techy, and has a slow buildup to it. Not one of my best, but it was a start nonetheless.
Remix of Toby Fox's 'Megalo Strike Back'. It was also one of the tracks where I learned the expression "Less is more."
Probably one of my best tracks to date. I decided to retackle my original remix of Heartbeat, and this was the end result. This particular track was made in conjunction with a "mock trailer" I made within two weeks. Tall, dark, and electrically violent, if i must say.
A remix of Homestuck's 'Even In Death'. Has a rather nice build-up to it, and settles back down just as nicely.
One of my more recent tracks, I decided to tackle Homestuck's Beatdown (Strider Style) and Beatdown Round 2. Techy, simple and sweet one the ears. I've already forgotten how many times I've hit the playback button on this one.

Overview: Blockland is a non-linear, sandbox style multiplayer game, stylized with LEGO-esque minifigures, created in February 2007 by Eric Hartman, AKA Badspot. The game itself gives the user the ability to create their own environments and games to their own discretion, boasting a larger user base and a variety of systems.
It was Greenlit on Steam for about a year before it was officially released to the Steam store, further expanding it's user base.

Features: Essentially a physics game, Blockland depicts the ability to utilize laws of physics, such as a character's avatar dying from a high enough fall, and replicating bricks collapsing from explosions.
It also uses an interesting Event System, where users can create interactive bricks through a simple cause-and-effect interface.
Finally, Blockland is heavily Add-On based, thus allowing users to create their own content from the game's engine itself, and gives infinitely more possibilities for server hosts to make intricate games.

    -----

Now, before I let you discuss, a little word to the wise; the community is very cutthroat. The game itself is decent by my standards and I could play for hours, but a lot of the players don't act really mature. If any of you are considering buying this game, play it at your own risk.

I've been wondering about if anyone has interest in a simple RP that is completely discussion-based and no RPG antics of any kind. It will be centered around the Tron universe, and if any of you have been following after the series, this RP will take after the events of Tron: Uprising, but before Tron: Legacy.
Basic plot is Abraxas, (Who was infected with Clu's sinister subroutine) has long passed, but his virus still spreads like a plague around the grid. However, a sudden mass infection hits Argon City right out of the blue. Tesler, who is still in charge of the district, tries to solve the problem and derezzing any of the infectees, while Tron and Beck try to figure out the problem on their side.

Characters including Tron, Beck, Zed and Mara will also be participating, but controlled by yours truly to move the story along, and there will be story arcs separated as episodes.

Players will be able to create their own characters and their own relationships, whilst surviving in a plagued city.

    Simple, Right?

    -Ze Operator's Tower of Power-
    OCC Page | Stasis Room

    Introduction
Welcome to the Tower of Power. You have been selected to partake in a prestigious challenge, along with other fellow warriors, mages and freaks alike to have your skills gauged to the max. On each level, you will fight an adversary and test your strength, and after each battle, you will have an opportunity to rest, recuperate, and reload. You will be able to gain new weapons, skills, tools, and abilities along the way.
But beware, challenger. Once you enter this place, you can never leave until you've defeated the final adversary.
So how are you going to go down?
A winner, with all the spoils of war?
Or shall you lose you life?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ze Operator woke up with a start. He had been laying against the wall of the Tower of Power for.....how long? He couldn't remember. He had felt so groggy that his systems might have been affecting his memory. Oh well.
He stood up, and stretched his limbs, bone by bone. The Tower of Power stood in the middle of a grassy plain, standing out like a thumb. Though it could've been seen by random passerby, there was a thick fog that surrounded the tower. Only those should be able to find it.

Speaking of which, Operator looked at his internal clock. The digits were changing randomly every second. Righhhttt..The Tower scrambled any form of upper technology like phones or anything that gave contact to the world, like compasses or phones. Looking for something to do, Ze Operator checked his weaponry. Both of his Magnums seemed to work as well as his Binary Rifle, but his Cloaking Device was somehow glitching. Must be interference with the area around the tower. He shrugged, thinking the Device would get better once he enter the Tower. Finally, he checked his trusty Binary Sword and his Arm Cannon. Both in working order.

He then stood firm, with his arms crossed. The others should be arriving soon.

Yup, to say the least, I can't say that I'm to surprised about this announcement. The game itself was successful the week it was released, and with four games already out within the year of it's debut, Warner Bros. announced to have gained rights to show Freddy Fazbear on the silver screen, just around the same time Scott revealed the 4th and final game, which got released early.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film is to be produced by Roy Lee, whom had produced the Poltergeist remake, and Scott Cawthon will also be helping with co-writing(?). Nobody has set a release date, rating or even a trailer yet, but director Gil Kenan has announced that the film will be 'crazy practical'; with the use of actual animatronics rather than CGI, saying that it would make the film more authentic and scarier. Yibada also states the Kenan will try to make the film appeal to most audiences, to be both scary and weirdly adorable.

Frankly, I'm not exactly what you would call jumping for joy at this point, because the same joke is being played over again. I would watch the movie, because I love FNAF as much as the next guy, but I'm very skeptical as to how this will play out.

    Opinions? Concerns?

-Ze Operator's Tower of Power- (OOC Thread)
    Main Thread | Stasis Room

    Thread Rules
    • This thread follows the RP Section rules as well as the main rules of KH-Vids.net.
    • Be literate and follow the 20 words per post rule.
    • 1 character max per player. This may be subject to change if I think people are able to handle more than 1 character.
    • Do not take over the story without my say-so. If you do take over, I will remove you. No excuses.
    • Unlike most threads, this game has no plot progression for any other thread on KH-Vids, so you have the opportunity to use any character you've used in the past or just stick with making a new one.
    • I reserve the basic right to change and add rules. If you have any questions about the thread, PM me.
    Game Rules
    • Don't GodMod or Metagame in any way. Everyone should have a particular weakness.
    • This thread is PG-17. Romance is allowed, and so is swearing, flipping off, and other mild themes. Sexual innuendos also fall under this category.
    • You shouldn't turn on your teammates. BUT....Who am I to stop a little realistic betrayal?
    • After each fight, you will enter a room called the Stasis Room. This is a central hub where you will be able to access the shop, and rest and replenish. You may also test your battle skills by fighting Dummy Bots or sparring with another opponent.
    • Try to progress through the story and not halt a battle. If you so happen to or plan to go inactive, notify me first, and I will place you character in the Stasis Room.

    • Username: Glen
      Character Name: Shane Ware
      Age: 18
      Level: 7
      Appearance: Here
      Weapons/Items/Abilities: (Max 5)

      Mind Reading
      Telepathic Speaking
      Pushing
      Psionic Inundation
      Telepathic Combat

Special Ability: Darkside View - This ability has multiple uses, but the way it works is the same. When used on someone, the person's innermost, darkest emotions are brought out, often causing them to become violent and ruthless, yet almost desperate in their attacks. The target's attacks are drastically increased in power, but due to the style of combat they usually resort to they leave themselves open to damage, taking increased damage for the duration of the ability.
      Short History:
Shane Ware was raised in a life of poverty. Never knowing true happiness or any sort of privilege, his childhood was a sad one until the age of seven, where he discovered his powers. At first he came to see them as a gift, practicing them where he can and thoroughly enjoying his newfound gift. Eventually, he began using them to his advantage, playing guessing games with people for a small fee and putting the idea in their mind that was the wrong one. It wasn't much money, but it was enough to improve his family's standard of living enough that they began to be able to relax just a little.
This was not to last, however. At the age of 14, his mother was struck down with an incurable illness,
Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease to be exact. Knowing no cure for it, his family could only wait and watch his mother's health deteriorate. For all Shane's powers, he could do nothing but watch and attempt to restore any memories his mother lost.

A few months after his 17th birthday, Shane went to a party to celebrate his father getting a promotion, but at the party people began bullying him, jealous of the money he was making from a simple trick. They tried several times to best him, but by pure dumb luck they didn't guess correctly a single time. The bullies began to abuse him both physically and shouting horrible things at him. This continued for several minutes until his father came over to see if he was okay, but upon seeing the bullies he backed off and returned to the party, pretending he hadn't seen anything.

More upset then he had ever been, Shane felt truly alone. He found himself wishing they would kill themselves, wishing they would just leave him alone and take their own lives. Completely unintentionally, he used his powers and the bullies did just that, as well as everyone else there with the exception of Shane's father.

After seeing what had happened and knowing of Shane's powers, his father turned on him. Pulling out a handgun, he pointed it at his son and began screaming at him and cursing him, saying he wished he had never been born and saying specifically he was nothing but a burden, a mistake, a monster. Shane yelled out to his father and pleaded for him to listen, but the man would not.

Amidst his pleading, Shane used his most powerful ability on himself, knowing if he was to survive there was no other way. He used his powers to bring out the darkest side of his personality, and then he used his Psionic Inundation to bombard his father with such powerful psychic waves the man's brain completely shut down, dying immediately.

Shane left that area the only survivor, the police labelling it as a mass suicide pact and moving on, but the boy knew better. He began looking into things to help him with his power, which he now thought of as a curse, and he stumbled upon a single name after reluctantly reading the minds of several government agents. Lyle Strain. He had experience with people with powers, perhaps he could help him. Shane decided to go to mr Strain, needing help and wanting answers to four questions:

Why did he have the powers when so many others could have been chosen, was there any way for him to ever become "normal" again, how deep down was his darker side, and most importantly...why had every part of him found enjoyment when he saw the people killing themselves?

He found Strain rather quickly, and met a boy with telekinetic powers captive there. Strain turned on Shane, treating him as a prisoner and science experiment, but in doing so he gave Shane something the boy hadn't expected to find; confidence. Shane was forced into situations he had never predicted, was forced to tap into his powers and unleash the true potential within himself. He did just this, and together with his friend Colton they escaped. However, Shane knew the danger he was, and while part of him wanted to simply kill Colton there and then, he left his friend and parted ways. He would find a way to train his body and his mind to become the perfect telepath, and ensure that the only people that were ever hurt around him were the ones that he wanted to hurt.

Fast forward a few months later, and Shane had found the tower of power. Such a place would surely be a good place to test his abilities and push him to his limit, and maybe...just maybe, he could atone for the wrongs he had committed.

He brought her to somewhere she assumed that would be her new home, but that was rather short lived when she got sold out to a home but not as a normal servant. She was forced into a different type of trade, by a human trafficking company. However being so young at this time she adjusted to her life pretty quick becoming adapted to it and as time went on even wanting it, playing to part and convincing people to get closer to her.

This however was when her powers bloomed, beautiful and perfect for Alexis, however as her owners began to realize what she could do, that it wasn't always their own will at work they would throw her out, sell her once again. Alexis got thrown from one place to the next occasionally picking up different things on the way, for example how to use her sword and dagger that she now carries. However the story was ever the same with the owner discovering her powers and kicking her back to the street, taking back anything they ever gave her, except her last owner. He threw her out on the streets but took pity on her. He did not sell her again and left her with nothing but he was unwilling to watch the beautiful young seventeen year old get used, abused and ultimately killed while on the streets, so he provided her with two weapons, a sword and a dagger before throwing her out.

Alexis then lasted the next two years on her own on the streets, using her weapons to keep herself safe, and using men to keep well fed and warm thanks to her powers and lack of clothing that she wore. She eventually heard from one of them about this tower of power. She could only imagine what would be awaiting at the end, what sort of prizes and luxuries would await her. Finally a chance to get out of the life she lived. Only if she could reach the tower heights and win.

Special Ability: Fanged Cyclone: By putting the summoned spirits of Kamaitachi and Byakko into his katana, Zephyr is able to unleash a devastating cyclone that destroys all in its path.
      Short History:

Zephyr did not have the most fortunate of childhoods. At the age of two, his father left on some journey that only his mother and sister know about. Next his mother had passed away when he was three years old, leaving him alone with his sister. They managed to survive with the help of some of their neighbors.

Seven years had passed and Zephyr started to spend most of his time in the local library reading about legends, myths and anything else that fell in that category. At this age he had learned that he wasn’t the best at magic and while that did get him bullied, his lack of ability for magic didn’t stop him from physically beating them. That of course got him in trouble with his sister, who was teaching how to both how to fight and the magic that their father had taught them.

Having one living relative that you know of and being bullied doesn’t seem like the best of things to happen to a kid. In fact, some most people would probably hate every second of it. This wasn’t the case for Zephyr. Learning his father’s magic was good enough for him for the time being. Zephyr still had plans to go looking for his father when he’d gotten older.

This cycle or rather daily routine for Zephyr went on for four years, before the incident that greatly affected Zephyr the most had occurred. On the outskirts of the village that he lived was a shrine. Various rumors surrounded that shrine, from a place where the souls of monsters were sealed to where hero's go to be chosen. The monster rumors made no difference to Zephyr, but the hero one was what really caught his attention.

When he'd suggested his plans to his friends, they were quick to warn him against doing it. Going as far as to remind him that they weren't allowed to go there without proper supervision. Zephyr ignored their warning and went by himself. The shrine was a pretty empty with a lone pedestal in the middle of it. Zephyr moved closer to the pedestal, practically drawn to it, and placed his hand on top of it. At first nothing had happened, but then suddenly the ground violently shook. The fierce shaking had caused part of the ceiling to collapse and fall down onto Zephyr. Everything after that was a blank for him.

The next thing that Zephyr knew, he was in one of the medical facilities that they ha, being treated for his injuries. A couple of cuts and bruises here and there and a broken arm. Quite fortunate for someone who had a bunch of rubble fall onto him. However there was a reason behind his good fortune and it damn near broke Zephyr.

It was revealed to him that the reason why he wasn't in worse condition was that his sister had shielded him from the falling rubble and was the more injured out of the two. Zephyr didn't believe this until he witness his sister's condition himself. Seeing her hanging on to life by a thread caused it all to sink in right then and there. This was all his fault.

His torment didn't stop there. For the next to years he was treated like an outcast. Either being shunned or hated by the people who lived in the village. Touching the pedestal had caused an earthquake that had taken many lives and naturally when people found out the cause, they weren't happy. Zephyr on the other hand was still in shock from how he'd almost gotten his sister killed and had locked himself to his room with some books.

Zephyr, now sixteen, had decided to leave his home to both find his father and to attempt to be a hero or at no longer a failure who only hurts what he holes precious to him. His sister had been released from the medical facility and was alive, but confined to a wheelchair while her legs, which suffered the most, healed. On the day he left, he left a note for his sister telling her where he was going and that he'd come back with their father if he runs into him.

Not too long after his journey, he ran into some woman who not only offered to teach him about some hidden ability that he had, but also knew his father. Hoping that by following her he'd learn more about his father, he agreed to her offer. Thus the next two years were spent both traveling and training.
Other: Using two spirits at once puts a great strain on Zephyr's body, thus he limits himself to one at a time unless he had to use two at once.

    • Username: jackdaniel0
      Character Name: Poke
      Age: 10 (Physically 15)
      Level: 8
Appearance: He has black hair, red irises and green sclera. He wears a red coat, blue jeans, black-white sneakers.
      Weapons/Items/Abilities:

        • Normal Orb - Grants him access to all Normal-type moves
        • Flame Orb - Grants him access to all Fire-type moves
        • Zap Orb - Grants him access to all Electricity-type moves
        • Earth Orb - Grants him access to all Ground-type moves
There ARE sets of rules regarding the usage of these orbs.
The orbs are all stored within Poke's body. He is able to separate an orb from him and give it to someone else, which will amplify any move they have where it's element corresponds with the Orb's by 20%, and/or give them control over that specific type. For example, giving Tessa his Earth orb would power up her Geokinetic abilities, and giving Ze Operator an Ice Orb would give him cryokinesis.

Special Ability: Wrath of the Elements - Poke has complete control over 5 random orbs as long as he has energy in his TAC bar. His attack increases, but his defense zeroes completely, and the turn the effect wears off, he is stunned.
Short History: Arceus wanted to save the Earth, but creating a portal to leave his realm was always an incredibly risky move. So he decided to create a being that would live out their life on Earth, dedicating themself to helping Mankind and Pokemon. The being that came to was Poke. Born in the form of a physically 15-year old boy, Arceus instilled into him as much knowledge on the humans as he could, including how to speak their language and act as them. This wasn't the only thing he gave him. Arceus had the ability to change his Type using special plates, which also allowed him to use any Attack that had that plate's type. He gave the same ability to Poke, but instead of using the shape of plates, he used orbs.
For most of his life, Poke had been doing a pretty good job. But then a group of extremists decided to go after Arceus. Forced down to the mountain Spear Pillar, he was captured, but only temporarily; he escaped, though injured. The group had gotten what they needed; a drop of his blood.
A tense few years of silence, and then Belzades was unleashed. Created through a combination of different genes of Pokemon, including Arceus, it was made to be the perfect weapon. Wreaking havoc across the Earth, Poke confronted it in a duel to the death. Knowing he would have to go all-out, he called out to Arceus' realm, to borrow the ethereal energy that resided in them. With it, he was now able to use every single Pokemon move in existence, and was finally able to match Belzades in power. Unfortunately, he had a new problem to deal with.
The risk of travelling between dimensions was the creation of a black hole. Even something small, such as the energy Poke had absorbed, would be enough to rip a hole in space-time. And a tear would grow bigger as more objects passed through it. Their battle had taken them across the landscape, so the black hole had plenty of things to absorb as it rose into the sky. It swallowed up Belzades, but Poke was able to escape. Though it didn't matter; If he didn't stop it, it'd destroy the entire Earth. Poke flew into the black hole, and darkness was the last thing he remembered before finding himself at the Tower of Power, with only four of his seventeen Type-orbs.
Other: While being created, Arceus didn't really 'code' anything into Poke about love, so he's aromantic asexual. I wonder if that affects a certain ability of a certain character? *coughwinknudge*

ARE YOU READY FOR THE TOWER OF POWER?

Is anyone interested in a simplistic RPG with boss fights on every floor, a rather intriguing storyline and tons of ways to fight?

This thread is supposed to a fun battle-heavy based thread with occasional lulls, an intricate system of perks/power-ups, and decent diversity to the character.

This particular thread is supposed to be experimental, featuring some characters from various games/media, with all their weapons, skills and willpower trained on YOU.

Can you handle a Tower of Power?

For those of you who know me on this forum, I understand that I have a large history of disappearing during RP Threads/Events, and mostly just hovering around from place to place. At which to one point, when there was a lull in the RP section, I vanished almost completely, due to the fact that KHVids' RP Section makes up 75% of my RP life, even if I vanish now and then.

For those of you who don't know me, Hi. I had joined KHVids around 2012-ish, and have been floating around from the RP Section, Writer's Nook, and Playground Section.

To sum this entire thread up, I just wanted to say to those who are reading this that I am back from a long leave of absence, and shall be returning to my residing threads as often as I can, and will do my best to stay active.

    It's nice to be back.
