Spoiler: Dramatics I've been staring at this page for a while unsure of how to start. I'm feeling a very strange combination of relief, guilt and nostalgia, and I'm not sure how I feel about the pink name ... I'd been considering resigning / leaving KHV for a while now. It's not because I wanted to, because I truly didn't, but because I don't feel like I'm doing my job as an administrator well enough. I don't feel like I was doing my best anymore. I had a lot of ideas and projects I wanted to launch / continue in an attempt to make things a bit more lively around the site - but I could never gather up the motivation to do them. I began logging in out of habit and obligation instead of because I wanted to. I'm declaring a sort of bankruptcy. I have so much stuff pending and in-progress I'm admitting now that I can't do them. I can't run RP Idol, I can't finish the KHV Chorus stuff, I can't put together the musical, I can't start any new projects, I can't finish the videos I was working on, I can't make the Christmas presents I was planning on making for those of you on my lists, I can't review the Hall of Fame threads I was working on, I can't afford the Minecraft server, and I can't be a good staff member anymore. None of this is because I don't want to be, I just feel like I can't. I feel guilty and like I've let so many of you guys down, and I hate it, but I can't. Things have been going up and down for me. I started a new job, and then I lost it for reasons not entirely clear to me. It was the first job I really liked, and being fired felt more personal than anything, so losing it was a huge blow to my self-esteem and I sort of retreated into angst for a while. I was put on anti-depressants for anxiety and depression, but it doesn't really help with the depression and made it worse for a while. Then a cousin I live with went to jail and got involved in a bunch of awful stuff that put my whole family in danger. SynK and I broke up. Then my aunt came into town and brought her kids with a one-way ticket bringing the 7 residents of my house up to 12. My mom and her boyfriend were taking care of all of the bills by themselves, and the water, internet, electricity, and heat have all been off at some point over the last few months. I got a new job, but I haven't started it yet and it's been weeks and I'm wondering if I was fired before I even started. I'm currently pet-sitting for someone but I'm not even making enough money from this to pay my phone bill. My priority now is getting out on my own. My living situation is suffocating. I've involuntarily lost nearly 20 lbs because though SynK tries his best to take care of the both of us ( even still ), eventually he runs out of money and we're just kind of left scrounging for food, or I'm so down and out about everything I don't have an appetite. I really need to be able to support myself and I'm trying to find ways to do that. Until then, I really can't put as much into this site as I want to. I may pop in from time to time, and I'll still finish my gift for SS. For those of you who enjoy my music, I'm trying to find a way to make a bit of income off of my covers ( or I'll have to drop that hobby too which may kill me ). If you would like to help me, you can become my patron, donate or purchase any songs you really like from Loudr or iTunes ( links will be in the description of my videos on Youtube ). This is not a money grabbing scheme, I hate asking for help, but I really need it and I don't know what else to do. I genuinely love you guys and this site so, so, so, so much. I haven't stopped caring about it, and I haven't stopped wanting to do things for you and with you but I can't juggle all of this right now and I need a break. I hope that one day I can return and put my heart into the site again, and at the moment I intend to, but for now I have to go. I'm still on Skype, and there are other ways to reach me. { This is more of a notice that I don't want to post anywhere else, but my activity is going to be decreased for an indefinite amount of time. It's already been happening, but I have a lot to take care of irl and until it all settles down and I get used to the changes, I'll be really tired and kind of slow with things. I recently got a job doing data entry in an office and for those of you who know me you'll understand that meeting new people and leaving my house consistently is exhausting and kind of terrifying. Everyone is really nice and welcoming there, though, and I'm starting to fit in and get used to the environment already so it shouldn't take long to get into a ~ groove ~. This week in particular is difficult because I'm still training so I have to go in every day and absorb a lot of new information, so when I get home I'll just want to watch Netflix and sleep. Another very important thing happening is SynK-kun is currently driving cross-country to move to my city and he'll be here around Wednesday or Thursday. I'm going to be helping him move into his place and we'll probably be out exploring the city and spending time together pretty frequently within the first few weeks that he's here.ヾ(@°▽°@)ノ So anyway, please forgive me if I disappear at any point over the next few days. Staff can reach me by phone so if any of y'all need me and I'm just ... gone for whatever reason, you can get someone to call / send a text. xxxxx You appear on a misty cobblestone path near a beautiful gazebo, the night sky alit with twinkling stars. There is no breeze to push the fog away and so it stays, slightly obscuring the view of an imposing, glowing ivory structure. As you move closer, footsteps crunching over a plain slightly curved gravel strewn path, the building comes into complete view. It's rather impressive. White, twinkling fairy lights are strung around the seven pillars that support the roof of the gazebo and also wind and stretch their way over the pinewood posts and railings. Excluding the short steps of the stairs that lead into the inner circle of the gazebo, nearly everything is illuminated by the large bulbs. About fifteen people can fit the inside, and there's a smooth pinewood bench built in a circular shape for sitting. This is the inner-circle. One must step over the bench it to enter and exit the ring it makes. Something about this particular building makes it different, and it's not the beauty of it - or the eerie fog hugging the field like a ghostly blanket. It's the strange, varnished Oaken door that towers above your sitting forms. The one that is dead in the center of the inner ring, with a glowing sign above it that reads "Lobby" in black stencil. You are not the first to arrive here, and as you struggle to find a place to sit, you find yourself tuning into the passionate speech of the amethyst-eyed host standing by the oaken door you noticed earlier. Her long silvery violet hair is barely tamed in a bun with several randomly placed hairpins, but the rest of her seems pretty put together; the white feathery dress she wears contrasting nicely with her chestnut stained skin. Her voice carries through the gazebo and probably far into the thick cover of fog as she explains why it is you're here and what it is you'll be doing. None of this is news to you. You came here to compete for the crown and are intent on winning the title of RP Idol. And so, as she introduces the judges, explains the function of the door, and other such boring things, you're eyes glide around the room to take in your competition. Before you know it, it's time for the vote and you scribble down your pick for the first World you'll enter on a simple note card. As one of the judges, a girl with brown hair and sparkling ruby eyes who goes by the name of Naridd Lein Ame, tallies the votes, the host Jayn explains how the door has the ability to alter memories. She emphasizes that reality will not be restored until they return to the lobby, and that each challenge will be very real to the lot of you. Though it's a bit of a scary concept, you're ultimately fine with it. You have your reasons as to why you need to win this competition and you're willing to do what it takes. You wake up in an abandoned carriage with your competitors ( in this scenario, none of you know each other personally - you just know that you've come from Earth because it's obvious ), right in the heart of the bustling city of Etilassi. This city is known for it's rambunctious residents, and a plethora of rare ingredients for spells and potions. Once you stumble out of the carriage, you'll take a quick look around and see that you're in the marketplace. It becomes apparent that you're not dreaming, so what the heck is this?!?! You have to wrap your head around the fact that this is a real world with magic and that you're stuck in it. You don't know how you got here and you don't know how you'll get out. You'll have 7 days to post, and your goal is moving through the marketplace and meeting up with NPC Jayn who will be wearing 'earthly attire' outside of a costume shop. You think you may get some answers from her. Move as a group, and when you spot her, approach and make conversation with her. The challenge / round will end soon after the majority of you decide whether or not you're going to believe her or if you think this is some kind of sick joke even after her explanation. There is no right answer here, react as your character would. TAKE YOUR TIME interacting with each other and finding the NPC. The point of the challenge is to describe the magical world you've fallen into and most of your points will be gathered during this time. Once you find the NPC, you will not have very much time to describe the world you see or to talk to one another. For those who have never participated in the User Awards, or need a bit of a reminder, there are two phases: nominations and polls. Nominations will be sent to a number of different staff members, who will then tally the results and deliver them to the admins. Categories, as you can see above, are organized into major groups; each staff member is given a group to handle. You will start a personal conversation with the applicable staff member, listing your nominations. Please take time in considering your nominations, because once they’re in, there’s no going back! Please try to utilize only the user’s current username. We will not hunt someone down if you put their past username or a nickname, and we reserve the right to ignore the nomination all together if you neglect to follow this rule. You are allowed to nominate two users per category. For group categories, such as Cutest Couple, you can nominate up to two couples. The same goes for threads. This gives you more of a chance to bond with your character and develop as we go along instead of having to stop abruptly and focus on switching back and forth from in character to not. In other words, join this season as if you're just joining another role play! This section is now a post counting section. Every post you post here from now on will count towards your total posts. Posts made from before will be added manually to your account after I've tallied them all up, please don't hound me about it. I'll announce when I've done it. There will be no disqualifications, or voting. Each round you will have the chance to earn more points. The person with the highest amount of points at the end will be crowned RP Idol and receive the pin. Points will be given by the judges { judges, I will explain your roles and the points system to you when you sign up } with their critiques and there will only be two judges { three in total including the host } to give us less people to wait for. This number may be raised or lowered depending on how this season goes. There will be five days to reply before we move on. It should not take that entire time, but there will be absolutely NO extensions after that point. Remember, you won't be disqualified, you'll just miss out on points. We just want to keep things fluid and functional. As soon as everyone has posted, judging will begin. I will allow a maximum of 48 hours for judges to reply. Considering I don't know how much interest this will generate or how many people will want to play, there will be 4 rounds unless a tie breaker is needed which means of the list below, you'll only be doing four of them. The scenes will be extremely vague, you'll only have a title to go off of so choose wisely, but each theme will emphasize a mechanic of role playing; for example, something like long posts, five metaphors, or extensive dialogue may be a requirement in your post. [ SEASON 4 LOBBY AND STARTING POSITION ] You appear on a misty cobblestone path near a beautiful gazebo, the night sky alit with twinkling stars. There is no breeze to push the fog away and so it stays, slightly obscuring the view of an imposing, glowing ivory structure. As you move closer, footsteps crunching over a plain slightly curved gravel strewn path, the building comes into complete view. It's rather impressive. White, twinkling fairy lights are strung around the seven pillars that support the roof of the gazebo and also wind and stretch their way over the pinewood posts and railings. Excluding the short steps of the stairs that lead into the inner circle of the gazebo, nearly everything is illuminated by the large bulbs. About fifteen people can fit the inside, and there's a smooth pinewood bench built in a circular shape for sitting. This is the inner-circle. One must step over the bench it to enter and exit the ring it makes. Something about this particular building makes it different, and it's not the beauty of it - or the eerie fog hugging the field like a ghostly blanket. It's the strange, varnished Oaken door that towers above your sitting forms. The one that is dead in the center of the inner ring, with a glowing sign above it that reads "Lobby" in black stencil ... [ SEASON 4 SCENE OPTIONS ] For anyone who knows me, every one of these is going to seem like a trap, but this isn't a horror competition so rest assured if it sounds innocent, it probably is. ... Your character cannot be from another anime, game, etc, unless the challenge asks for them to be. ♣ Your entry OC must be as simplified as possible. That means no powers or anything weird like that. Why? Because some of the challenges might conflict with that. Don't worry, the competition isn't that straight edge. You'll get to play with some powers. ♣ No god-modding. Yes, this still applies. No power playing. ♣ Try not to ignore the other contestants. Interact with everyone fairly. ♣ Try to stay in character. ♣ A judge cannot be a contestant. ♣ You will have two characters. A girl, and a boy. They can be the same person, just gender flipped with different names if you want. But you will have the ability to switch between them freely or when needed. It's more of an advantage to have them be two separate characters with different personalities so you're not stuck with one. ♣ Don't bring drama into this. If you're paired up with someone you dislike during a challenge, and/or you get voted out, don't rage. Just deal with it, or try again next time. ♣ Please be respectful of one another. ♣ You can be any age you want, but ages may be altered based on scenario. ♣ I reserve the right to add more rules before the competition starts, so check back here often if you decide to sign up! If you You can play an original character who is judging or play as yourself { like my judging example from above }. We're basically the NPCs. We help guide the competition, and play important roles in certain scenes. Your job as a judge is to read the posts, and follow the competition. When we return to the lobby after a scene, all of the judges will critique every contestant on their performance, and award each contestant points. You guys aren't actually apart of the competition unless the scenario calls for it, but you help with crowning the winner. Anyone can be a judge, even if you don't role play { though this season will require you to role play a bit }. Just be fair and send me a private message. Your character cannot be from another anime, game, etc, unless the challenge asks for them to be. ♣ Your entry OC must be as simplified as possible. That means no powers or anything weird like that. Why? Because some of the challenges might conflict with that. Don't worry, the competition isn't that straight edge. You'll get to play with some powers. ♣ No god-modding. Yes, this still applies. No power playing. ♣ Try not to ignore the other contestants. Interact with everyone fairly. ♣ Try to stay in character. ♣ A judge cannot be a contestant. ♣ You will have two characters. A girl, and a boy. They can be the same person, just gender flipped with different names if you want. But you will have the ability to switch between them freely or when needed. It's more of an advantage to have them be two separate characters with different personalities so you're not stuck with one. ♣ Don't bring drama into this. If you're paired up with someone you dislike during a challenge, and/or you get voted out, don't rage. Just deal with it, or try again next time. ♣ Please be respectful of one another. ♣ You can be any age you want, but ages may be altered based on scenario. ♣ I reserve the right to add more rules before the competition starts, so check back here often if you decide to sign up! I will always alert you if I update the rules. [ JUDGES ] To be a judge, please PM me your sign up sheet. For you, the sign up sheet is entirely optional, but you do need a picture. If you You can play an original character who is judging or play as yourself { like my judging example from above }. We're basically the NPCs. We help guide the competition, and play important roles in certain scenes. Your job as a judge is to read the posts, and follow the competition. When we return to the lobby after a scene, all of the judges will critique every contestant on their performance, and award each contestant points. You guys aren't actually apart of the competition unless the scenario calls for it, but you help with crowning the winner. Anyone can be a judge, even if you don't role play { though this season will require you to role play a bit }. Just be fair and send me a private message. Anyone posting on this thread about wanting to be a judge will be tsk'd and denied. First come, first serve. If you are a judge this time, you CAN judge for the next season. This was originally different, but due to the inactivity of the last judges, I think it would work out better to have those who are really dedicated and wanting to be on the panel able to be on it.
