big guns or big swords
build fighters try is a stupid piece of trash that shouldn't exist but Lightning G and Star Winning are sweet
good stuff
i finished zexal. ugh. UGH. i see what you meant.
oh man. such intense warm feelings. you break my heart zexal. will be starting arc-v tomorrow for sure.
http://i.imgur.com/3JcPSTz.png this is so gay. i love it.
visions a character i know zero about but i'm hoping the movie will make me want to seek him out bc capes are cool
Yeaa I've seen a few of these. Pretty cool. I don't really understand the pick for Iron Man aside from the MS having gold on it. And I don't...
silly atlas you're confusing ramen with meth
i mean we already knew it was happening from an interview with oda I'm skeptical. I want to see exactly what it is before I get excited. The hiatus is a dirty move. atp I just want Dressrosa over. There was a line of dialogue in the chapter that referenced early-Dressrosa with the toys, and all I could think about was how much fun the arc was early on and how stale it's become now. There was a time when I said this arc had the potential to be my favorite, but everything with the levels and the bird cage has been obscenely long and I'm just bored of it. Maybe Oda's experimenting -- trying his hand at longer arcs and slower pacing; it could be that it reads better collected but weekly it feels sooo sloooow. Disappointment is not something I wanted/expected to be feeling when the mysterious and sinister Doflamingo became the central antagonist.
i always got so close but then he'd do something and i'd lose
1. stop eating ramen if that doesn't work: 2. buy a brand thats not designed to be the cheapest blandest **** 3. buy this instead
congrats. that's a lot of work. i'm not sure i ever actually got 100%. i think i did. i know i didn't in fm. after losing to no heart for the 309234th time i said eeeeffff this
Spoiler: more zexal gushing oh my god it happened again. here i am rolling my eyes thinking they're going to drag this thing out and not do the interesting thing, but they completely catch me off guard and do something even better than I would have liked. Spoiler Durbe revealing he's Barian while he's holding shark. 1. some other show would have dragged that out for episodes or not revealed it at all. 2. not only did they do that, but they did it at the best possible moment. there's some delicious irony in a Barian coming out as he's trying to save Shark. I know details to some spoilery things that could maybe come back and make this less good but at the moment it's nice the show is trying to make me think. as if its actually trying to be good. like real good, not just ygo anime good.
o my b
What was it that you didn't like about Zexal? Because 3/4 of the way in, I feel like I can say it's bad reputation is almost entirely undeserved. I think a lot people saw the younger designs and mistook that for the show being targeted at a younger demographic (and not realizing that it's already a kid's show), so they went in ready to be either appalled or disappointed. Of course when you compare it to it's predecessor it doesn't stand up, but that's because 5D's was awesome. But putting it up against GX and DM, there's no real noticeable quality difference on the whole imo, in fact, I would dare say Zexal is better. I know those are fighting words to some (nostalgia is a powerful thing), but just looking at each show individually, I'd say this is at worst on-par and at best exceptional. You don't have to like it, I'm just curious.
I was trying to steer clear of that topic for fear of saying something wrong or being redundant, but I do hope things work out, Princess. As apparent by this thread still existing, khv's a good place to talk w/ people you at least kind of know and get stuff of your chest. Spoiler i could be doing hw rn but instead i'm being productive @Fearless @Ghost so i'm watching Zexal and trying to remember if the duels in each previous series were as contrived and convenient as they are here. I mean I know that's always been a thing in ygo shows, and that's part of what makes them entertaining, but it seems much more prominent in Zexal. it's like.. oh.. yuma saved himself with half unbreak.. again.. and everyone always has a card to negate effect damage. like they saw that coming five turns ago even though they knew nothing about the person they were playing against and were so shocked when they summoned whatever. i get that the card game in the shows functions very differently than the one irl but it's very glaring how impossible it all is. but I'm really enjoying myself. despite the seemingly lazy duel choreography, the show suddenly started doing some interesting, unexpected things even after being fairly good for 90+ eps. and it's somehow managing to subvert expectations. a yugioh show. there have been one or two times recently where i thought "did i just get faked out by ygo???"
cryin rn so many nice things being said
I've never read the manga. I enjoy the shows immensely. It's horribly contrived anime schlock and it knows that and I love it. My budget for comics has been $0 recently, aside from the couple dollars I'll spend on back issues when i go in to interview the manager for a class I'm taking (only 40 more Cassandra Cain issues to go wat up), but I'm very excited to get back to reading whenever that is. And the covers are gorgeous. I considered picking up singles in the mean time, but I feel like it would read better collected than it would in individual issues.
