as wonderful as daredevil is, the one thing i'm consistently not feeling so far is Foggy. something about the way the actor portrays him feels kinda scumbagy, which is not what i associate the character with, and i don't buy his lawyer jargon like i do Charlie Cox's. hopefully he gets better. its okay universe hates me too i never get burn on Scald
wat
drive three hours for a ten minute meeting? ok sounds cool
oh my god i havent thought about this masterpiece in ages thanks for reminding me
>disliking dofp quicksilver it looks like it's made to look like a generic sports jacket. so you could probably buy any old adidas windbreaker and get away with it. i doubt you'll find it exactly bc it looks custom but maybe theres someone out there with legit clothes-making skills who's made one just like it. but im just some guy talking about something he knows nothing about. best to go out and research it for yourself. quicksilver didn't really have a costume in either movie. just slap on some exercise gear, dye your hair silver/blonde and your gtg.
good thing i dont have anyone to talk to
those two work well together. im not a big fan of crossovers but at least those feel natural
But the whole point of Spider-Man stories is to examine Peter Parker and the relationships he has, mostly out of the costume, and to see how he grows and learns from his mistakes and stuff. He's one of the most personal and relatable characters I can think of, and putting him in the avengers takes away from that because his character's not the focus and he's pretty much only there bc he's the face of marvel. that's why I don't like Avengers and most team books other than Wolfman's and Johns' Teen Titans. I'm not saying that you can't tell good stories with spider-man in the avengers, but it's not the stuff i like and it feels so very counter to what Spider-Man is in my head. basically everything i just said also applies to daredevil. i will be ****ing livid if DD finds his way into an avengers movie (probably unlikely but still) and i realize the only reason Spider-Man getting movies is bc he sells. but it still stinks.
but dragons arent cool either not unless they're on ygo cards or are pokemon that dont look like dragons
3 episodes in and Daredevil is far and away the best thing Marvel's put on screen it makes me borderline dislike the films. this is what i've been looking for. this is what interests me in Marvel. this is why i'm mad that Spider-Man's getting the Avengers movie treatment and not the street-level, serialized story, season-binging experience that i want from the character and that is appropriate for him. funny story. before watching this episode I had just finished reading an early issue in Bendis' run where Urich gives a speech to his boss very similar to the one he gave in this episode. i wonder if there were thinking about that issue when they wrote it.
but all green is beautiful. except olive.
you read a book
i really, really hope the show does not devolve into sex/gender quips i cringed at the few bits in the trailer like that. like the lesbian thing. as soon as she started wording it like she did i immediately thought that they would go where they did. What was the point of that? funny? it wasn't. to show how progressive they are? being progressive is great, but gratuitously drawing attention to what you're doing is not how you make any kind of thought-provoking, intellectual statement, or get people who may be against your show (or whatever) on board. The way you do that stuff is just be awesome while you're telling a good story.
Certainly. Before N52 I would have said that's the obvious decision, but given N52's Supergirl (which was one of the best things they had going early on), something closer to Arrow and Flash feels just as appropriate. However, I don't think we need more of that, so the lighter tone is appreciated. There's not much I'm seeing here that immediately turns me off to it, but I do have some reservations I can't quite identify that make me not as on board with a Supergirl show as I would like to be. We'll see.
"My name is..." oh god not another one
wow thats a lot of mad
dinosaurs are not cool
ask yourself: "does this movie have apes on horseback dual-wielding machine guns?" if the answer is no, move along.
final grades for the semester were just posted. everything's fine and i'll be able to transfer no problem. so dang excited. this is like the biggest weight off of my shoulders. but this always happens. i always freak myself out thinking all hope is gone but i do better than i thought and things turn out okay. just finished Daredevil Yellow and Man Without Fear. next is first trade of Bendis' run. then maybe i'll start the netflix show.
