that finale was... disappointing. started out great but went downhill. has the best scene of the series, though. the scene with Barry and his dad in the jail was outstanding.

but yeah i'm done with Arrow and Flash
I don't feel the need to keep making excuses for them anymore
Arrow became complete garbage this season, and while Flash never became wholly bad, it has the same writing style and cw-ism tropes that ruined Arrow. The writers on this show are dealing with pretty complex and delicate themes and ideas, but they don't seem like they realize it and don't seem equipped to develop those ideas as intellectually as is required. It all devolves into love triangles and secrets and all kind of contrived bs drama. Season 1 and the first half of season 2 Arrow did't have that. It boldly defied so much of what it's become now. I've seen people call it parody and I can't disagree. Flash never had that. It's always had the caveat of, "it's good, but."
Basically all these shows are really good for is the nods to continuity and comicbook fan service and cliffhangers. There's much better stuff out there I could be reading/watching that's actually good instead of trying to trick me into thinking its good. Like there's this early issue of Ultimate Spider-Man where Peter and Mary Jane spend the whole issue just talking through him opening up about his being spider-man. Yet these shows and so much else use that same issue but instead of approaching it thoughtfully, use it as the source for most of their drama.
I get that these shows have their charm in places and can be fun to watch, but I'm just kind of over it. seeing comicbook stuff realized on screen is cool and all, but when that's all your show is good for... well i'll just go read the source material instead.

No, I haven't. I've actually not read the entire thing through but I started doing that just yesterday. I had a lot of the comics as a kid but they were never more than a few in sequence so even though I love it and know a good bit about it, I've not experienced it fully. It's one of those personal favorite standout runs that I want to have all of eventually. The problem is that they're so scarce and so expensive, at least around here.
the show is just.. it's just painful. I can't get through an episode. at least Spectacular was great.

funny how all these game companies are telling people that the singular future is mobile gaming, and then the people who buy their stuff keep screaming back at them that no, it's not, but they continue to keep pushing it as if they're going to change their minds or something. i get that these companies follow the money, but do they not realize that even if the mobile gaming market has yet to be completely cornered that they're still leaving this other market open if they totally shift their focus to mobile? surely they do. i just dont understand why they cant divide their efforts and attend to both instead of purely mobile, if mobile is something they see a profit in. i'm not a "gamer" so in the end i don't care, but everything i hear on khv and other places is all so frustrating even if i'm not invested

I think Vaan would be a nice character to see play off of Sora. From what I remember about XII, he had a similar demeanor as Sora. I've been meaning to start XII again for a while bc I see a lot of negativity towards Vaan and I suspect that may be undeserved, and want to see for myself if there's actually something potentially interesting there and if naysayers are overlooking him altogether.

It's a perfect mixture of what made First Class and the good X1/2 work. I don't like X-Men, but DOFP is pretty wonderful.
