    What's the last book you read that wasn't assigned for school?

    Bonus question: What's the last book you read that was assigned for school?

    For me, I believe it was one of my dad's Star Trek books about four or five years ago and Jane Eyre back in May.

    Upon realizing this, I've now decided to stop spending my insomia-filled nights playing Plants vs. Zombies and instead start spending them reading Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

    Last book (Play) I've read for fun was Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

    Last book I read for school was Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley.

    And side note, this was about a year or so ago... I don't recall reading any books, all the way through, within the last 12 months.

    I love Douglas Adams, and this is my favorite Hitchhiker's book. It's the second one on the series, and if you haven't read it, I recommend you do(the series, not just this title).

    The last book I've read, and what I'm currently reading because dinny is a lazy bum who reads only when she remembers (at least lately), is a little book called Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon and I am really enjoying it. It makes you look at things differently and it's very inspiring.
    The last book I've read for school is (and also currently reading lol) Macbeth by playwright Shakespeare ~

    The last book that I read was Battle Royale, finishing it about twenty minutes ago. It was a monster to get through, but it was an amazing read. It didn't hold back, and it managed to surprise me at the end. I picked it up, mostly to see why people compare it to the Hunger Games (which I find as average teen lit, nothing really that special about it). While the idea is the same, the two books couldn't be anymore different.

    And I haven't had to read for school for ages. I think the last book I read for school was in late 2009, which was Brave New World, which was also an interesting read.

    Just finished Mockinjay last weekend. Good God, what a bleak, depressing book, the ending had me sobbing uncontrollably ;.;
