Only one solo is allowed, as always. Also, this time, do me a favor. If you need to drop out please don't just vanish. Say something.

Wrong quote, but whatever...It's okay Kelly. I don't use Audacity so I can't really show you what to do. Mish sends them the way I'm asking. Maybe she can help you? I'm also about to explain it to PaW again...

Haven't been home all day, my apologies. I mean I want your vocals sent in one file.

Okay, the way I do it is probably different from how some of you do it. I use a multitrack recorder. This means that there's more than one 'track' on the screen at a time. On one track, I put the instrumental. You can download the instrumental via online Youtube to MP3 converters. On another track, I arm for recording and record on it. As I record, I only record my lines. So as the instrumental is playing, I follow the song/lyrics and ONLY sing my/the black lines.

This is what I mean by 'timed to the instrumental'. It means that all of the spaces where you're not singing your lines should be included in the MP3. If I have to redo a line, I just go back to that place, delete my old part and then sing it again.

After I record my lines, I delete (or mute) the instrumental, and render as MP3. The result is one long file, timed to the instrumental, with me singing my lines. It would be the same as singing the whole song and cutting out/deleting the parts where I'm not supposed to be singing.

I honestly have no idea how to explain this properly without physically showing it, and even that may not help because I use a different program. But as I said, Mish is one of the people who record that way and she may be better suited to explain it.

I apologize for disappointing you and whoever else is disappointed by this but there's not much you can do when the HQ/official instrumentals include the speech. I found a fanmade one that doesn't have the main speech, but another reason why it may work out better this way is because it'll give Cloudrunner a chance to experiment with Sony Vegas, since it's his first time using it and he'll only have about 2 days to get it done.

I just use basic Sound Recorder on Windows. Play the track and then record the lines whilst it goes on. Sometimes if it's short, I'll just record it without the track playing.

I understand a bit more about what you want, and it sounds easier as well to do but I don' think I have software for that type of thing. Fantasia mainly does video but it might work for a purely audio based project... I'll see what I can do.

Well, you can do the same thing that you normally do with them, I think? I mean, if you play the track in the background and hit record on the sound recorder and sing your parts and then save that? That should work out. The multitrack thing is just something I do because it's easier for me.

I believe Audacity has a multitrack feature and is free as well. Also, Sony Vegas is different, but it's mainly for Video Editing but can also be used for just audio. I've been using it a lot lately, lol. So hopefully Fantasia will work out, too.

Since I have two slots of lines out of four left I suppose I shall take:

They're out to get you, there's demons closing in on every side.

Now is the time for you and I to cuddle close together, yeah.

I'll take these two, seeing as the ones I requested before are already taken.

I always miss the good lines and solos all the time, damn time zone differences means getting the scrap of the litter when the thread magically appears out of nowhere. A shame, I'd love to do more in each of the songs.

Hey Jayn, if everything goes nice, I will record my lines Monday or Tuesday. Or if I get free I will record and post them tomorrow. But if I get busy tomorrow and Monday, I will just have them Wed or Thu.

    If I don't feel bad, I won't drop out.~

    Okay, checked.

But yeah, I'll be recording my lines, so I should have them sent by the end of today.

It was on propose, since the chorus is now on the Home page, that there are not any black lines but the ending?

This is insanely difficult just timing it right to the instrumental, never mind getting the lines anywhere near decent. I set today out to record but I've just about run out of time and still haven't got a decent recording. If I make a mistake or mistime any of the lines or move when I'm meant to be silent I have to redo the entire thing. This is going to take forever and if I do actually manage to get some lines in, I can guarentee it'll be awful. Those of you who normally record the whole thing in one go, so much credit to you, I have no idea how you do it.

I've always recorded it one go and I've had difficulty in the past. This one I didn't have too much trouble with; I've gotten better at avoiding mistakes as we've progressed with the chorus. I don't think there's any differences between the instrumental and the vocal versions that we need to worry about for this one, so you could sing along with the song. Also, don't worry too much about making little sounds, like movement, during your silent bits. I've sang a song for the chorus while I had the flu and I never heard the sound of my wheezy breathing - which I made when I was meant to be silent - in the final recording. I think Jayn cuts out the silent bits.. but don't quote me on that. P:
