Riku for me because his gameplay felt more similar to the BBS gameplay than Sora.

it's hard for me. Riku's style seemed far cooler but Sora's links with Spirits are far more useful in most cases. but i think it's Riku for me.

Riku was the preferred. I enjoy much more in-close-and-personal action which I can really only get with him and do severe damage. Sora is more of a balanced character more than anything. I can only have brute force, or mushy mage.

I liked Riku's game play as well... Since BBS is my favorite out of all of them it felt much more similar.

I gotta go with Riku's style.

It might be because Sora's style felt klunky to me for some reason. And I've enjoyed playing as Riku since Chain of Memories.

If I were to compare DDD to BBS, I would say that Sora (to me) feels like a haphazard mix of Terra and Aqua, but substitute Ventus's light attacks for Terra's dark ones. Meanwhile, Riku felt like an even blend of all three characters.

While I do agree that Riku's attacks are cooler and are similar to the Command Styles of BBS, one my favorite things about that game. I'm gonna have to go with Sora for me. I'm not the best KH player but I do like a good challenge and so far I've been playing proud mode and critical mode now. The thing is when I use Riku's Links most of the time the animations for his attacks are too long and I somehow end up suffering for it or dying altogether. Sora's links in the other hand grant him invincibility and do a significant amount of damage in the process, not to mention there's a lot more diversity with things like shooting or rolling around on top of a ball to the gameplay overall compared to Riku's which just give him new attacks.

For me it's Riku for two things: His Awesome moves and him being my second choice as playable characters go. Also, Sora felt to me too much like his KH1 style (obviously adding commands and Flowmotion) whereas Riku felt...newer to me. He had a different way of fighting than Re: COM and since he wasn't really playable (except in Mission Mode in day's, not counting that) in any other game, I think that's what made him stand out for me. Also, he has all of the best moves :D

tell me about it. i found that playing in even Proud Mode and using the Command Styles hurt me much more than helped. though, i do really like the Water one where Riku surfs on his keyblade :)

O_O Which Dream Eaters! I NEED THIS.

Anyways, I prefer Sora. He's just more easier to use, in my opinion.

this is precisely why I didn't like it.
I'm not a fan of command styles. Though I will say that the version in DDD is vastly superior to the way it is in BBS, and eliminated most of the problems I had with the command styles in BBS.

I wont say that I like the way that Sora teams up with the Dream Eaters, because often times he just looks silly, but I can't tell you how many times I was saved because of them.

I'd go with Riku. His moves were pretty great smooth to play with. Sora's gameplay was good as well but I feel Riku's was better.

I chose Riku mainly due to his Dream Links. Some were similar to the drives in BBS and other were cool looking.

It actually didn't matter much to me. At this point I am, I am mostly just using Thunderga, along with 3 sprites with Thunder boosts for either one. Concerning their actual styles, when I used them, they were both alright, but I liked Sora's links a bit more.

I didn't feel an appreciable difference. That probably had a lot to do with the fact that I didn't use the link system that much (I had to force myself to use them more for the sake of the link board), and the move differences are simply light/dark mirrors most of the time. I tended to like Sora's links a bit more because while I'm constantly swapping dream eaters to max them all out he gives more variety from one link to the next. That and as mentioned before, the later difficulties are harsh so to end up alone and thus the only target was not really worth the marginally better attacks (especially when that upgrade might be cut short by damage capping)

Well that's not really gameplay, is it?

    :O
I'm so glad I finally found another person who picked up on these things! So many people I talk to think Riku is the same in DDD and Re:Coded, and that KH2 and KH1 Sora play the same.
I feel less alone now :3

There ISN'T an appreciable difference. Riku was toned down significantly to make him play a lot more like Sora, adn I think that was a big missed opportunity.

Well, for one thing, Sora was WAY smoother to me towards the end oh KH2. Sora was in the air for the final fight in KH1, which was good because he fought smoother. But Sora KH2 was better, he would win a fight between the two. DDD Sora is still blocky. COM Riku and DDD Riku are different because of the cards and Dream Eater and STUFF. He was still blocky though. The two differences they have in DDD are their links with Dream Eaters and their commands.
