Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it.

storyline;
Kairi remembers the chilling memories of her past, her dark knight coming to save her from storybooks and how her dream turned into a nightmare. a forgotten and misplaced photo of her friends slips into her hand, she gazed at the sunlight. His smile, I remember him now. she looks out onto the bay remembering her past experiences. the time they shared. the promises, the laugths. all shattered by a man in black. confused and dazed she is stolen. locked in a tower like a princess. scared and alone, she gives up all hope and offers to sell herself. when from the darkness a man appears in black, a portal is opened and he falls to the floor, exhausted.
Kairi turns to see the man as her body is englufed in the darkness. strands of blonde hair whip across her eyes and his hood glides down his face. a smile. so familar. "No wait" the darkness closes on the space and the man is gone. a tear is shed in the past, i selled myself to free you. he said to her once, the memory is a distance thing and cannot be changed, he takes her hand as the portal closes one last time.
in the past, their reunion was pleasant and full of compassion, until he stumbled and slipped. a crash off the clock tower, in a panic she jumped after him in an attempt to be there for him. Kairi gazed out onto the sea, remembering the pain she felt. she awoke on the floor confused and dazed. she looked for him. he lay alone in the cold, her friends stood around the body and sighed. she shuddered and closed her eyes. tears rolled down her face, she huddled next to him. No, he cant be gone. Her friends looked at the stupid girl, thinking, its all your fault you ignorant child.
Thoughts flash back to kairi, how they shared eachothers company in love and compassion. I love you, he said. Something was wrong with him, he was stubborn and cold to her. I have something to tell you. He was determined to look after his love, so he sold himself to the darkness and bargained the girl. in order to protect her, he mustnt lose against the darkness or it will steal her away.
Once the boy dissapered from the darkness, kairi found him in a ghoulish form, shut in the dark kairi held out her hand to him in compassion. Stay with me in the light. she said. they touched again and the boy vanished. floating in the dark he opened his eyes. His world turned to light and brightness. Kairi looked over the sun and island and dreamed of a better future, he was with her now forever and always but they couldnt touch. she smiled and gleamed at the light they once saw together, she saw him in the reflection, smiling just as he always did, she smiled back down at the water. Never stop dreaming, thats what he told me. I promise.
