why dose sora have big shoes?

i never got why his shoes r so big any 1 want to fill me in

 

You know what they say about guys with big shoes...

His appearance is loosely based on Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse has big shoes, so Sora has big shoes.

 

Well, my guess is that this was to Sora looks a little as Mickey. I always wondered that and my best friend also said that it was because of Mickey Mouse.

 

He is a Hobbit.

Seriously though, the shoes (and his whole outfit) are based on Mickey Mouse's original design.

I'm more interested in how huge his HANDS are. In the KH2 scene where he hugs Kairi, his hands literally cover her entire back. ONE OF HIS HANDS IS HALF THE SIZE OF KAIRI.

 

It isn't because a bit of his design was based off of Mickey Mouse, Sora's shoes are big because Tetsuya Nomura drew that out as a tribute to the Disney character.​

 

Gotta go with this. The main character of a Final Fantasy and Disney crossover should have aspects of both styles. Sora is the result of that fusion, Riku as well and even Kairi in KH1.

 

The first game Kingdom Hearts was originally meant to be about Micky it was kinda last minuet that Sora came into exsistance, and thus Sora retained many of Mickeys attributes such as the red clothing which links to Mickeys traidmark red outfit and the large yellow shoes with are Mickeys as well

 

Sora wasn't a last minute thing.

Originally, Squeenix wanted Mickey to be the main protagonist, and then Disney wanted Donald Duck to be the main protagonist, but the role was eventually set to Sora because Nomura wanted a human protagonist.

Also, one thing I should have added: the merging of Sora's design with elements from Square's proposal is referenced by his original costume, which shares many elements with Mickey's.​

 

I agree here. He was loosely based on a combination of Mickey Mouse and Sion from The Bouncer, another PS2 game that Nomura had recently finished by the time he was working on Kingdom Hearts. For reference:

His clothing design was meant to echo Mickey's. Mickey has red shorts, Sora has red shorts. Mickey has big yellow shoes, Sora has big yellow shoes.

Nah I'm just kidding. I think his design is supposed to based of Mickey Mouse, little odd IMO.

I remember back in the pre kh2 days I randomly came across a youtube video called the first Sora or something like that. It showed gameplay from that game Apple mentioned. I had never seen or heard of the game before. Needless to say, my mind was blown.

 

He is basically a mix of Japanese anime and Disney classic design. Or he just has really large feet from his father's side, Big Foot was hiding somewhere. Destiny Islands seems about right.
