Tales of Darkness

Aiden sensed a ripple in the fabric of the universe and suddenly it was Mist who had left him holding Kessha: Not the other way around. "Weird." He muttered. Then Mist took her dragged her over to Presea. "... Alright then." He shrugged. "If Rachelle and Elisa will find the blue clover, I'll look for the sacred tree bark: I have a certain fondness of high places, so it shouldn't take to long." He turned to walk out the door. "Will you be staying with Kessha Mist?"

After a bit more of trekking around and poking around the area, she eventually met up with the rest of the group and their archaeologist. First thing to hit her was that she wouldn't shut up about the ruins. She met some ruin experts and fanatics before, but Raine took the cake. She droned on and on...oh god was it possible to get so bored from such talk?​

​

Eventually, she started to block off her talking and examined the walls around her. Tee tunnel was eerily quiet. Too quiet for her suspicions. If there really was a large monster down here, they would've heard it and felt it by now. Was it sleeping then? No. Large monsters couldn't snore that quietly. There were three options then: Either the monster died, was no longer here anymore, or it was waiting for them...she hoped it wasn't the third choice. She ran her hand along her bow, ready to fire at anything.​

 

After what fel like weeks without doing anything, Elisa looked at Rachelle and asked her; "Find it yet?" this was getting rather irritating because how could anyone find a blue clover? Most of them were green. Suddenly her stomach growled. "I feel like I haven't moved for weeks yet why am I so hungry? I mean holy crud..."

 

As Aiden stood observing A piece of bark. He looked down from the thin tree branch he was standing on to see a small, round, and red object roll up to the base of the tree. He panicked and jumped three trees over. When nothing happened, He took another look. "Oh." He laughed to himself, relieved. "It's just some kind of berry... Thank goodness it's not a jawbreaker..." He shivered, then went back to observing the piece of bark in his hand. "Not this one..." He carefully put it down next to what happened to be what he was looking for. "...Well Thank you horrible memories of the twisted Leo... I guess...." He picked up the bark, and returned to the shack.

 

As the others returned with the ingredients, Kessha's condition was gradually getting worse. Presea looked at them all and grabbed the ingredients requested.

Party Acquired Magic Lens - Magic Lens are items that allow the party to see a monsters HP and TP as well as a weakness. A title may be rewarded if a team does not use it. Any member in the part may use it.

"Now Cheagle Fur. Cheagle coming." She said pointing to an opening in the forest. The creature that came out however was not of a Cheagle, instead it was of something much much worse.

Raine began to escort the group through the tunnels. "Careful everyone. We wouldn't wish to awake the beast ahead. Just remain quiet." She said lightly. It wasn't really necessary though, the beast was wide awake and ready to attack, hiding in the shadows. With a loud bark, and a yelp of pain, Fredric was caught on the ground with both legs bitten into. A wolf like creature appeared in front of the party, ready to finish its prey, it attacked.

Party received Magic Lens.

"Fredric!" Called Rowan. Stealth was a moot point now. The beast already knew they were there and proceeded to attack. He was unlikely to stand any chance in a head-on fight, despite his combat skills. So he leaped backward to put some distance between him and the Cerbantine. The thought of using the magic lense crossed his mind, but he decided against it. Knowing how close it was to death wasn't something that appealed to him. Although he knew killing it was the only way, he certainly wasn't happy about it. Fredrick and his companions were more important. With a heavy heart, an orb of flames was conjured in his hands. "Fireball!" He called as the burning spell went flying.

 

"What idiocy is this?" Aiden practically shouted. The creature, in all honesty looked Imbecilic. He knocked an arrow and aimed for the creatures heart, or at least where the heart should have been, intending to do as much damage as possible. He briefly considered using a magic lens, but decided to wait and see if anyone else did. He Released his arrow, then launched another before doing much else.

 

Skadi snapped out of her trance-like state. She had been thinking only of the party's stamina the entire time, thinking each of them would be exhausted. Thankfully, she had been wrong thus far. She looked at the creature that stood before them. Skadi wasn't the most intelligent person, but even she could tell that she could tell that the creature wasn't exactly an ally. She waved her staff in a small circle as she envisioned a small fireball, and from that casting procedure spat a searing fireball that flew at the enemy.

Sasha jumped back, startled by the large wolf that suddenly jumped out and attacked Fredric. She cursed and pulled out her bow and arrows. She was right. That thing was waiting for them. "Get into position everyone! Try not to get caught off guard by it!" She puled back an arrow and held it in for a few seconds before firing off a charged shot at the giant wolf.​

 

Mist was freaked out about this beast. What in the world would... it almost looked like a tall human with a diaper and some mask. "Okay, fine, just gonna use my arte. Rising Slash!" She yelled, attacking at the beast. We need to do this to protect Kessha. This is the only way.

 

Sieg was surprised by the sudden appearance of the wolf, but still there was no time for them to be hesitate; so drawing his lance, he attacked the beast before them.

 

Sol was stoked for this beast to come out of nowhere. Bit of a bummer that Fredman got bitten into by the giant wolf demon thing before them and kind of a bummer that the turn order dictated that he went last before the boss monster and the NPC, but beggars can't be choosers. Furthermore he was awarded a magic lens...out of nowhere. Like seriously where did these things come from? While normally he would've all about using that magic lens (or at least someone else using it) he was really interested in that title for not using it. Titles were always cool. Just a shame their monster book would never be fully completed but that's just how these things worked sometimes. Pulling out his rather standard ass sword he lunged at the monster and decided to go and use an arte. More damage meant more pain, and he wanted to hear some pain from this monster. As such he used the Hyper Slash arte...because it was really the only arte he had. With it he cleaved into the beasty.

 

Elisa ran forward and hit the GentleMieu with her staff. She was too hungry to properly focus, and she didn't want to be baggage. But she had to try, the mission depended on defeating this thing.

The beast's strike had been isolated to a single combatant. If he had known any healing magic, he would've tended to Sieg's wound. However, this magic was still a mystery to him. His thoughts were filled with questions of whether or not he could simply incapacitate the beast. He didn't want to kill this creature, but an instinct deep inside him told him that there was no other way. The Cerbantine had to die. Rowan despised this fact. Was he really so powerless that he couldn't save even an animal defending its home? Either way, another fireball roared to life in his palm and flew forward at the beast.

 

Aiden still couldn't believe how stupid this boss looked. But he ignored it and began to charge energy into his freshly knocked arrow. "This will be an interesting story to tell the king later." He thought as he let the arrow fly. He again wondered about using the magic lens. It would be useful to know this... things stats, but no one seemed to care. Maybe he shouldn't either.

Sasha took a few steps aside before letting go of another Charged Shot at the wolf. She felt bad about attacking the large wolf. Largely because it acted as if it was trying to defend its home territory. Then again...there was no sign that it had marked its territory. Whatever the case, it had to be put down before someone else gets seriously hurt.
