Suddenly, nostalgia

Cheesy as it is, the instrumentals for the first three seasons are solid.

 

Frontier is my favorite open, and while data squad is annoying the first bit, it gets a little better a few seconds in. I'm still unsure about Fusion. Parts of me likes it, while other parts hate it.

 

Man, I always disliked these versions, and not because of their cheesyness, but because they pale compared to other language versions.

It´s a crime.



Seems like U.S. opening versions are always choked, but not all of em. There are a few good ones, like the rad English Yu-Gi-Oh opening.

 

U.S. openings are what got me to start enjoying anime openings for the most part. Yugioh's opening, Winx Club, Mew Mew Power, Dragon Ball Z, Shaman King, and all those other shows shown on saturday mornings. Looking back, my childhood was filled with a lot of magical girl anime. Ah Foxbox and Kids WB! how I miss you....sort of

And I don't care what you say, even if the dub itself was bad, this opening is still one of my top favorite openings, even if it's just from the nostaliga factor

Like I said, some US openings were ok, but Im just saying the most of the shows put off the original cool openings to the side, isntead of translating them into English.

Look at this for instance, the American version pales in comparison imo.

 

This is one of those examples of "Neither wins". I'm not a fan of the original Digimon opening, but a lot of the japanese openings I wasn't a fan of either.

 

Yeah, this is what Im talking about.

I would much more prefer if the studios would dub the original openings, instead of pulling out something in lower leagues.
Sort of like with Dragon Ball Z Kai, and how the ending theme is dubbed.

I just remembered how dark Tamers got near the end.
I wasn't ready for that.

 

Yeah, it was p dark and 2drama for my young self, but I loved the show.

 

I think both versions are generally good (except that I kind of hate the Xros Wars/Fusion English opening,) especially the "Butter-Fly" opening; I prefer it to the English opening for the first Adventure season. Though I have to admit, I prefer the English opening for Tamers over the Japanese.

But I love the signature riff-synth-whatever that is that's present in the first three English openings. Not a fan of the lyrics or singing, which is why I love this game's opening (along with having like, four of my favorite Digimon).

And just so everyone has a reference, here are all of the Japanese openings.

That second Savers opening is strong.

 

I like these better than the us version.

 

I guess thats one of the big differences...

I love the songs purely because of the singing, but then there are others that prefer the music.
