Just a little suggestion, but I thought it could be nice and helpful.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be something like this (I hope you don't mind if I use you for the example, Misty):

    Before:

    After:

Also, even if the user hasn't done anything in a while or is offline, the local time would still stay up-to-date.

There is also a feature like this on Skype; it's nice actually. >:)

Do you know if it's even possible to do this?

No, I don't, actually. I meant to put that in, but I forgot.

    I'll edit it in.

You mean like, showing at time it is/was for the user whose profile is being viewed? I can see how something like that could be a social convenience.

    Yes, exactly.

However, even if the user is offline, the local time will still be up-to-date.

    I really like this!
It could be pretty useful for some people, so they could sort of specify what time they would be able to log on, or times they would be unable to be online.
    And for simple social reasons.

My only thing against it is that some people get really security heavy and won't like people even knowing what timezone they're in. So opting would be preferred for it

Also a mod to say what there timezone they are in, rather than their current local time, might be easier to find and be considered more useful to some members.

If such a feature is implimented, make it optional. *is paranoid about location*

Wouldn't mind it... though as mentioned, it would have to be optional. Though I wouldn't know how to do this... you would have to look around www.vbulletin.org for a mod or code edit.

See my previous post for a possible way to do this.

Your mod was for an older version of VB, I couldn't find one for VB4

    Oh sorry, didn't see that.

-Edit- Doesn't look like it will work on 4.x, this mod is really old. And yeah it also doesn't look like it's something that is optional to enable/disable on the user's end.

-Edit2- mixt beat me to it.

I know this is old, but I found something, and it looks like it's compatible with vBulletin version 4.

Well we've got a vB4 mod now. It doesn't mention a toggle though, which usually means it doesn't have one.

What do you mean by toggle?

Sorry, not the best term. I was using toggle commands in programming and just the first one to come to mind.

I mean the ability to opt in and out of the feature. As you can see earlier in the thread there are people who would wish to not reveal their timezone.

If someone sends me the file I might be able to add a toggle to it
