don't worry none of your questions will be answered but season 3 is way better (on the Iroh thing, I always took it that humans went to the spirit world on death)
Book 3 is indeed much better. On the kid thing: Alone in the Spirit World, Korra felt alone and scared and helpless. As such, her appearance changed to herself as a child because she felt like a child. Because the Avatar has Fisher King power in the Spirit World.
