Dale considered her words carefully. A white hand pale as snow knocking on the window? Well then... That was new. There was always something new in this line of work. Kept it interesting he supposed, although it could be a right pain in the ass when you had to waste time trying to figure out how to deal with it. At times like that he wished for a simple giant spider. They were so much easier. You just had to hit them until they died.
"I see... Interesting. Thank you, I'll keep an eye out for that." Dale said carefully. Calxiyn at least was performing well. Enthusiastic, receptive to orders so far and well, got the right information. That at least, was a start. She might wind up being a good member one day. The rest remained to be seen for the moment. Before he could answer anything else, Kiyomi appeared. He remembered her coming in to tell them about this job. He mentally steeled himself. She could be work sometimes. Nevertheless, Dale put on his best smile and attempted to work with her.
"Yes Kiyomi I remember. Now, tell me, what's going on exactly? And where?" He asked.

 

"If that's all sir I believe we should start to take our leave." Mikasa started to turn the knob on the door... Suddenly, she felt a bash against her head as the door swung open.



Leon pushed her out of the way into the corner of the room. "You're hurt. Don't move!" He yelled.

Charlotte had been rather unamused by the antics of both Gaius and Thomas thus far. She understood their want to gather information, however, the way the two had been conducting themselves while doing so was something entirely inappropriate. She simply continued to look onward, a look of contempt on her face at the two, until Mizuki and Mikasa had started to ask all sorts of different questions towards the butler. However, it wasn't too long before Mikasa herself was hit by a door slamming open and then ghosts were before each and every member of the guild. While this was, by no means a normal happenstance and this was also completely random, Charlotte hadn't said anything on that matter. No. Instead she said, "vile spirits that haunt this land. In the name of justice, I shall expunge your existence from this land. Begone!" With that, Charlotte jumped at her ghost using Quick Blitz.

 

Labyrinth Time

For the most part Veilen was too bust laughing at what Gaius and Thomas were doing. What ti the best thing to do at a time like this, probably not. But it was still funny to him and thus he continued to laugh. Eventually his laughter started to die down just in time to see Mikasa get smacked by a door. It didn't look like it had hit her in the nape of the neck so it shouldn't have knocked her out, but it did so there was that to deal with just not by any of them for they were separated by what appeared to be spirits. "Thanks for making our job easier, now time to exorcise you." However since he didn't know any exorcism techniques, he would have to settle for purging the soul with flames or fire if you couldn't figure that out.

Highschool Fun

Before Zwei could answer the question directed at him, Dale had gone ahead and answered it. "What do you mean, 'allowed us to speak' your not our keeper." Despite his remark they continued on as Mikami sat down around a table and proceeded to explain some more about what they would be doing. Before she could continue on, someone else had entered the room, apparently the friend of the fox posses victim who also knew Dale.

Well, this wasn't going as planned. Ghosts were pouring into the room, Mikasa was dazed in the corner, and it just had to be Leon who had helped her. Perhaps he wasn't as bad as he made himself out to be, Mizuki grudgingly admitted. She wouldn't tell Leon that though.
First things first, it was time to dispose of these ghosts. They didn't look all that tough, really. She reckoned even Thomas wouldn't have much trouble with them. Mizuki paced calmly towards the closest enemy, drawing her sword deliberately, making no unnecessary movements and gauging the distance between the ghost and herself. She waited until she was just two steps away, before suddenly whipping her sword up, taking a lower and wider stance, before driving the sword upwards towards the ghost. She was trying to end this in one strike, any more would be a waste on such a weak enemy.

Mizuki used Quick Blitz.

 

Ra had been more or less silent throughout the course of the questioning. Gaius and Thomas were...well, they were idiots. Ra made a mental folder to contain all the notes he was making on things to do to improve their behavior. If they were going to become the strongest team, then they'd need to shape up. The only thing thus far that could make up for it would be their combat abilities. No sooner than that thought had crossed his mind, several specters emerged from seemingly nowhere, splitting off the ground from the others. Worse, Mikasa had been put out of commission...by a door. Not the most heroic injury there's ever been. Nevertheless, Ra turned his attention to the spirit before him. "Foul ghost. You've experienced death once. Are you so eager to do so again? Very well. I shall indulge you!" Ra performed a fast sweep of his staff, attacking with Quick Blitz (Because **** magic).

Well, Beucette had hardly been paying attention to anything that was happening until a schoolgirl walked in. Now that's the way to get someone's attention! She said she'd been possessed by a fox spirit, which gave the white haired girl a pondering expression. "So...Did she by any chance throw out this little heart at you? And when you were hit by it you couldn't do nothin' but walk toward her? And you took more damage from magic?" The question was to be totally nonsensical, but she asked it with a completely straight face. To her, it seemed to be a completely logical question to ask. Odd.​

One moment they were interrogating the butler, the next some guy ran through and shoved Mikasa out of the way. Some S class wizard right. Right after, spirit things came into the room, and some unknown force separated Gaius from the rest of them somehow. Apparently Mikasa couldn't do fight either, her secret weakness was doors like wow who could have seen that coming. The door knocked Mikasa out, so Gaius decided to knock the spirit out. He leaped at it and swung both his fists violently, using Quick Blitz.​

 

Satoya High School



She gave Beucette a confused glance, cocking her head.
"You're weird lady." She said blunty, flipping her hair and facing Dale as he spoke.

"Well." She began, casually shaking her hair out of her face as she spoke. "She got possessed by a Fox spirit, and now she's at home."



It occured to Dale that really, she had no idea of the gravity of the situation. She was handling this as if it was just a normal everyday thing. People didn't usually get possessed by spirits, so maybe she didn't quite get it, or she was just a very nonchalant person and took everything with the same casual apparent lack of care. Sometimes he really couldn't understand people. Had it been someone in the guild he would have handled this far more seriously. But no, not Kiyomi. Strange girl.
"You also said your friend was doing strange things like jumping on the table and eating sand. Did she doing anything else... Odd?" He inquired.



She scratched her chin and hummed, frowning. Clearly she was in thought.
"Oh yeah! There was the time she jumped into the swimming pool with her uniform on! That was weird, and it was like, really cold that day too!" She recounted conversationally.



Dale groaned. He wished she took this more seriously and didn't sound like she was just talking to her friends about something everyday. Next thing you knew she'd be talking about boys and inviting the guild members out to hit the market with her and her undoubtedly weird friends. Maybe strange Fox girl would come and then they could solve this.
"Your friend- Has she hurt anyone?" He leaned forwards intently, his gaze trying to force an answer out of her. But of course, it made no difference and she still answered in the same chatty way.



"Hurt anyone? No not really. She just acts weird and creeps people out that's all. Never hurt a soul in her life!" She kicked her legs under the table and smiled, casually tugging a lock of her. She examined Beucette with childlike curiosity, but then turned her gaze back to Dale. "Anything else?" She cocked her head to the side and smiled at Dale closing her eyes happily with another happy hum.



Dale returned the smile the best he could and gave her the closing eyes gesture back. Then, he looked to the group and waved his arm at them vaguely.
"Does anyone else have a question for Miss Kiyomi here?" Dale asked, suppressing the irritated growl lurking at the back of his throat. She was so... Annoyingly casual about all this. Wasn't her friend being possessed a serious thing? You'd think she wouldn't do her silly hum and smile at this time! Or fidget!

Child's Play



"This is Minnie!" She declared excitedly, holding the doll up towards them in both hands with all the happiness in the world. The doll wore a red Victoria dress with a matching bow around her long blond curls that fell on to the pale face of the doll. She smiled widely at them, making her the very essence of cuteness, her eyes sparkling and wide open.



"Elayne, are you enjoying your new book?" Zarine asked, leaning down and smiling like a mother.



Elayne froze in place. A wave of fear came over her joyful face and her smile fell, her mouth shutting tight and quivering as she clutched the doll close to her, hugging it to her chest with eyes wide open. She turned a deathly pale and her knees began to quiver.
"Um..." She stuttered.



Caliborn frowned. Something's wrong. The very mention of that book... He wiped the expression of his face and put on his smile again and got down on to one knee, placing one hand on the ground to keep himself steady.
"Elayne, why don't you eat some of the food Zarine's brought you?" He asked softly, taking care to tread most carefully in this situation. He hadn't seen Elayne like this before. Nervous yes, but never the visage of abject terror that he could see before him now.



"I- I- I'mnothungry." She stammered, looking at her feet and evidently trying to clutch the doll harder. Her eyes clamped shut and she fell silent, staring with closed eyes at the floor most intently.



"Let's go downstairs for a while." Caliborn decided loudly, so that Siuan could hear. They needed to get together and try and understand what was happening. Whatever it is. What is it that's terrifying her? Is it that book? At the mention of it... Something wasn't right, that was evident. They needed to talk. Maybe someone here had some ideas on it. He wasn't entirely sure himself what was happening, but as a group with Zarine and maybe Siuan they could figure something out. For the moment however, it was time to retreat from the room. He led them down the curving wooden stairs into the spacious living room. The room was very familiar to him. They had three couches in here and then a couple of single seats there as well. Caliborn took his usual seat that faced the couches. Zarine promptly took another single seat to his right, while Siuan and Elayne took a couch together, although Elayne clutched the doll and drew her knees up to her arms.

Once everyone had filed in and seated themselves, he drew his hand into a pocket inside his coat and withdrew a glowing, luminescent white ball. He held it in one hand and glanced at everyone in the room. Thanks Cassandra. You always had an eye for what would be useful.
"At the guild. Cassandra made this especially for the mission." Caliborn began. "We are going to use this to test for ghosts, or something that might give us a clue. Now, I think we'll start with taking a look at you, Siuan, Zarine and Elayne. As this is your first job, the first chance you've got to actually do something, do any of you want to try using this device?"

The spirit was putting up more of a fight than he had thought. He had managed to land a solid hit, and the thing was still standing! ...or floating, yeah floating seemed to be more fitting. Directly after the impact though, the spirit had outright screamed at him. It had opened its mouth and tiny blue laser things began assaulting Gaius' body, and immediately he felt a little cold, but it was nothing too bad. If the scream had seemed loud from the spirit he was facing, he had certainly not been expecting such a loud, high pitched scream from the one Mizuki's let out as it was practically cut in half. Poor spirit.

Deciding to take the offensive once more, Gaius dashed forward. As he neared his spirit again, he tapped into his magic energy, and a fireball appeared around his fist, engulfing it in flame. Leaping up into the air, he hurled the fireball at the lost soul, engulfing it in a blazing inferno and causing the lost soul to fade away, unable to hold keep its spirit in the mortal realm any longer. Landing on his feet, Gaius let out a sigh of relief, before turning and hurrying to help the others.

Something seemed...off about the way that the child reacted to her mother mentioning the book. Only moments earlier, she had thought of the kid as really happy, not seeming to be bothered by a curse or even show any signs of being cursed, but at the mere mention of a book that changed. It made Skadi wonder what the book was about. Walking over to Elayne, Skadi bent down until she was at eye level with the girl, before giving her a warm smile. "Hi Elayne, my name's Skadi. Skadi Wynter, like the snow. Could I please have a look at your book? I promise I'll be extra careful" she said, trying to sound as gentle and friendly as possible as she spoke. However, that was when Caliborn went downstairs, presumably to tell them of some kind of plan. "Just think about it. I'll be back in just a minute, okay?" she asked, once again being very gentle with how she spoke.

Walking downstairs, she saw that Caliborn had pulled out a device and was asking if anyone wanted to use it. As she got down, she made her way over to Caliborn and reached out and took the device. "If it'll help, I'll use it. What do I have to do?" the girl asked, eager to help but not quite sure how to use the device.​

Alright, she had had enough of this little girl by now. They were getting nowhere with this. Scarlett stepped forward towards the girl, with a hard look on her face. "Yeah I have a question. Do you realize what's even happening here? People getting possessed isn't normal, so if you don't mind taking this a little more seriously that would be great." She realized that she was still clutching her bow in hand, so she hooked it around her back silently. "Now that that's out of the way.. What other abnormal things have been happening here?"

 

Ra glared at the spirit from beneath his suit. Evidently, hitting it directly with a staff affected it like the staff wasn't even there, yet still did damage. Go figure. He hand his opponent had both attacked, yet barely scratched the other one. At least he wasn't injured, maybe slightly cold. It was time to go on the offensive once more, this time hopefully with more effectiveness, although in his recent battles it was almost as though some cosmic force that decided randomized odds was plotting against him, but that was a silly thought. Raising his staff into the air, he let loose magic. Electricity crackled up the staff and gathered at the top, sparks arcing out. Eventually, the bolts shot upward, and rained down onto the spirit before him, hopefully ending it's existence for good.


The girl seemed oddly nonchalant about her friend being possessed. She was checking her out and that was a good thing, but Beucette was thinking about how this would play out. Scarlett was being kind of a ***** to the girl, but what else was new? "So Scarlett hon, how'd ya fit a stick so big up your rear? It's gotta be at least the size o' west texas." The white haired girl teased, then turned back to Kiyomi, having thought of a question for her. "Yeah i got somethin' to ask. Are you the fox spirit?" She said, asking quite possibly the strangest question she could have. However, Beucette simply thought about how the plot would turn out, and guessed at the ending. It would make a decent twist if she were, and if that were the case then she could say that she called it and look intelligent. Show that she wasn't just a pretty face. A very, very pretty face...'Damn i'm attractive...' She thought to herself. ​

Ander's pov:
After asking if they had a picture of Leon and not getting a answer he wondered if the pastor just died.
He been waiting for an answer for some time now and the pastor was just giving a blank stair.
"lets go." He then walked over to the pastor. "Nap time is over time to save some children."
It was time to go they been waiting long enough.
After all he was not getting any younger.
He thought he saw some gray hair on his head in a refection but it was nothing.
"What do you think we will find out there?"
What would they do once they got there? Only one way to find out and that was going.
He took a look at Leon/ the girl.
"I hope you can still be happy after this Leon."
He wondered if there was a way to help Leon and the children here after all.
All Leon wanted was to play and he was not hurting anyone so maybe there was something more at foot here.
"We are here to help you Leon"
He was unsure if the boy was still there or if the girl was back but any kindness Leon could get might help him.
He hoped this mission would not come down to helping Leon or the children, because he wanted to help both if that was possible.
If not he would help Leon after all he left early so he deserved to have some fun. He died so young.
This reminded him of his friend Eric what happened to him. He was only trying to...

Sara's pov:
She was not going to go any were near that glowing, luminescent white ball Caliborn was holding.
It might spill her past to everyone there and she did not need that.
Get the mission done get the money she told her self.
What did the glowing, luminescent white ball do she wondered.
Anything can help or be a weapon just like her. Her life was so confusing.
she had very few people that meant her always treated her as just that a weapon.
This is why she keep to herself.
There way only ever one person that treated her like a person and he was dead because of her...

Despite Veilen hoping that his fire attack would do enough damage to purge the spirit just as he claimed, it did seemed to do enough damage that it was weaken. Waken to the point where it decided to warp away for the time being. At first he thought that he had fled away and that he would be free to go, but the chilling feeling that he could still feeling said otherwise. "Let's see, I can't use fire again and I don't have any other attacks that can start a fi-AHA!" Before he finished thinking about what his next move should be, he had a realization that he did in fact have another attack that could start a dire, thunder. Though it wasn't all that often that thunder started fire, even less in video game standards, but it was good enough for this spirit. So he held his hand up in the air and called forth some thunder to strike down the spirit.

"Have there been any other incidents similar to this that we haven't been informed of?" Zwei questioned. The only thing that they were informed about was the fox spirit possessing incident, but that didn't mean that there wasn't any other ones that haven't been shared. Who knows just what this spirit is capable of and just how many people it can possess at one time. Unfortunately there was no true way to guarantee this specious of his by this answer of this one girl, but he answer would be better that nothing at all.​

 

//Saytona High School//

Scarlett turned to face this Beucette chick who had the nerve to comment what she did. After giving the girl a quick look down, Scarlett let small smirk cross her face. She took a step towards her, sort of regretting putting her bow on her back. It would definitely have helped her image. "Oh, you know. The same way you managed to stuff your bra so full. Tell me, what's you secret? Tissues? Cotton? I'm just dyiiiiing to know." Scarlett rolled her eyes on the emphasized sarcastic word, radiating off annoyance. Hey, if this girl wanted to get totally annihilated, that was her problem.

 

"It's simple Skadi. All you need to do to use the orb as Cassandra said was to simply touch it. It'll do the work for you." Caliborn answered. it was simple enough thankfully. It could have been inconvenient if they had anything more complicated to do. Frankly, he had no idea how or why the thing worked and only a rough idea of what it did exactly, because he didn't feel the need to question the work of his guild mates. It would do its job, or they would find another way easily enough. He didn't think much about the idea of the orb actually not working. Otherwise there might be trouble. He was still curious about Elayne's book and what was freaking her out so badly about it. What could it be... Surely Zarine wouldn't have bought anything actually dangerous would she? How could she buy a magical book in the non magical district, let alone how she would have known where to get it?

 

The group went to look in the aqueduct only to find nothing.




"We have to hurry and figure out a plan, this could escalate very badly. Though Leon isn't violent now, he could turn into a violent spirit over time. From what we've learned so far, it seems to be a fairly innocent haunting, he doesn't want to hurt the people he cares about. Even still, every time we've tried to get rid of him, he keeps coming back. From what Father has told us, Leon is appearing more then in the past. The possessions are changing him. You hear people say that the spirit of their family is haunting them right? But do you think a spirit would be horrific to their own family? Sometimes that is the cast, my point is though, that dead people who wander start to change, just like us. We absorb the thoughts around us, just like they do. They're altered in the process. Just because Leon was nice when he was alive, doesn't mean he'll be now." Johanna explained. "Now let's get down to business, who wants to be the one to exorcise him?"
