Seriously though my mom and dad didn't like talking on the phone and they sent each other letters and when they were just friends my dad sent subtle flirts in letters. My mom thought he was just goofing up his wording.

 

YEAH same with my parents! They wrote letters.. but that was because he was in Hong Kong and my mom was in Canada. He sent really really cheesy love letters and cards. when I found them I started laughing LOL I felt bad but whatever

How the hell do people even flirt with texting? My text message conversations are always purely functional. For example:

Friend: Hey.
Me: Hi, what's up?
Friend: Not much, I'm just [yadayadayada] and that's why there's a live chicken in my refrigerator. How about you?
Me: Same. I've been meaning to get in touch but [yadayadayada] anyway, I finally got around to starting One Piece from the beginning.
Friend: Oh, awesome. Hey, do you want to get together sometime soon?
Me: Sure, where and when?

Me: Great! Text me when you're on your way.
Friend: I will.

I had a flirtationship that took place ENTIRELY over the phone and BOY IT WAS AWKWARD. Maybe because I suck at flirting vs expressing, but it just felt like I was talking to the room and was trapped in the conversation no matter how much I screwed it up.

 

This is how I feel talking on the phone in general, like I honestly cannot imagine flirting over the phone. How did things pan out for you (if you don't mind my asking)?

The only people I talk to on the phone are like... my mom and the other managers at work.

 

I can't speak for him, but honestly after you break the ice its not some awkward thing anymore. It just becomes the norm.

 

We dated, before we could meet up a friend set us up to fail. I had a lot of experience with distance due to my first relationship being out of here, but it didn't pan out well. Sucks, I'm 100% certain they were my soulmate to the point I didn't mind the phone stuff because we were so naturally built for each other, but maybe not. I've been semi-with someone ever since (three years), but they know I'm still looking and so are they. Recently, the phone girl re-popped up in my life so it could wind up being a happy ending or at least one with proper closure.
