One Punch Man (to me anyway)

Himouto! Umaru-Chan!
Phantom Wold (although I'm only three episodes in)

 

i said no hentai

"michiko to hatchin"

Mostly about the relationship between a criminal named Michiko and her daughter Hannah (Hatchin') as they explore Brazil on the run. by the same guy that made cowboy bebop & space dandy (idk how you feel about those, but I think that gives a good sense of its structure)

"Rolling Girls" is 12 episodes iirc, haven't seen it all but its slice of life with some bombastic action sliced in.

"Ping Pong the Animation", its a sports anime but its ****ing brilliant.

Those are the only ones I've watched outside of KLK since like 2013, so mileage may vary.

every time someone asks for anime recs i am obligated to say infinite ryvius, but iunno if i'd call it trashy. just under-appreciated

anyway i barely watch anime anymore and i'm having a really hard time coming up with series i can recommend without some sort of inappropriate content disclaimer which makes me nervous to post my recs and also disappointed in myself. but please watch s-cry-ed if you have not already

If you meant to say better than SAO, no. SAO at least had a good premise and intro episodes.

I dropped DanMachi in the first episode, and wanted to before that episode ended.

 

But SAO is show that really navel gazes too much. Sure, those first few episodes were good, but they aren't really what the show really is.

DanMachi embraces the insanity of what it is. It understands it's absurdity and plays it up. It's basically if Klien was the main character is rad of Kirito. And hell, I wasn't too hot about the first episode either, but it's something that grows on you.

 

I'm not exactly filled with anticipation...
