How do I convince my mom to let me dye my hair

Maybe she'd be more receptive to an ombre instead of a full color?

 

First, I'd suggest going with something that's easily washed out. Kind of ease the parental into it. And just do a streak or something. Nothing overly drastic.

Personally, I've never dyed my hair. I don't want to kill it since I'm indecisive.

 

Just do it.

 

Make up a situation that involves glue or some shit in your hair.

"Mom you should have seen what this looked like before I dyed it"

Pull an Anne of Green Gables and dye it the neon color on 'accident' because you were going for something natural-looking and bought your dye from a shifty street peddler.

Serious advice: start with temporary dye, like someone said. Hot Topic sells temporary dye that washes out after a few days, or at least they used to. I stopped dying my hair years ago and now just buy wigs to wear when I feel like having pink hair. XD but yeah, show her what it looks like, and prove you're being responsible by 'testing it out before you make any permanent decision.' if your mom is anything like my mom, she'll love it and encourage you to dye it permanantly and have fun. If your mom is anything like my dad, she'll say that she likes your hair the way it is, and she hopes you decide to leave it natural, but that she respects how mature you're being about it, and that it 'looks cute' and you can decide for yourself. XD

I recognize comic book fans have made a decision, however, given that it's a stupid ass close minded decision, I've chosen to ignore it and like her.

"Accidentally" fall into a bucket of bleach for two hours, then say something about how hipster hair colors are more likely to get you a scholarship to a good coffee shop than mainstream hair colors.

 

Say how cool anime characters are with their non-traditional hair colors and how they get all the exciting lives and you wish the have the same kind of life.
