The morning sun had risen over the land of Greil, the villagers beginning to work on the fields now that winter is slowly beginning to pass away. The capital city was rushing with early waves of merchants ready to sell their goods to anyone passing by. Just a normal day really. With reconstruction going though, many people were thriving from the need for supplies. The Queen was making matters easier as well, donating to help rebuild the nation.

The castle was also in a boom of excitement. Today was the day Queen Christine was to head out to Veera. It was the hope that Veera and Greil could form an alliance with one another as well as lend aid to the reconstruction. Veera and Greil usually were on good terms with one another through the people. The political communication was minimum at best.

Within the walls, Christine came out to the camp of the newly formed Disciples, a group of warriors to be a personal unit to guard the queen as she traveled from the safe home of the castle to other regions. "Dear Disciples, I come to you in request to aid me in my journey to Veera. It is in my best wishes that we turn the tides of our nation's past of deceit and betrayal to one of trust. I wish not to follow my father's evil rule. Let us set forth to Veera!" The Queen spoke to the men and women in arms with a bright smile. "We will had out at noon. Give yourself some hours to prepare."

Smoch grinned. He was hoping on the way there they might be able to actually find some bandits and attack them. If he wanted to be a Hero, joining the disciples was a quick way to start. The only downside is was his parents might find out, and that would not be good in the slightest. He didn't care for their noble tides and way of life. It was far to comfortable.

"A few hours to ourselves huh. Wonder if anyone would spar with me." Smoch spoke loudly trying to rile some of the others up into accepting his challenge. He looked around at the other units trying to judge whether any of them were strong or weak. They would be working together so it only made sense to actually know each other better, and through placing arms against each other was a spectacular way to learn.

Today was a day that would be like none other in this young farm gal's life. Sure, their hometown still wasn't much of a looker, given all that renovation stuff it had to go under, but hey, reconstruction is a fantastic thing to have happen. Better than complete an utter nothingness. Her own family was doing pretty well off due to everyone's need for food, yes sirree. Aside from her family's fortune, that was not the highlight of the day. Nope, not at all. Today was the queen's grand departure to Veera for all the peace talks, and out of everyone that was being tasked to be a guard, she was one of those going along. Being a disciple felt like quite the honor for this old school gal, but hey, she wasn't one to judge their judgement.

Given that there was time for them all to prep and get themselves ready for the journey abound, Lucia got her stuff together only to here someone who was also a part of their little band of adventurers suggest a sparring. Sparring was fun, seeing as between her and her brothers a good old hoedown was always something to be enjoyed. Hoisting up her good old axe onto her shoulder she calmly walked over to the purple haired boy and said, "well sure I'll take you on for a good spar." She smiled to him and raised her axe in the air with one hand, waiting for the boy's response.

The same routine goes every day for Sasha Seine. Get up, dress up, get her ass out on the roads till dusk, sleep, rinse, then repeat. True the Reine family wasn't well known (not known at all in fact). Being one of the few able to wear a set of armor without collapsing and not complaining (in public) made her a 'worthy' guard. She envied the nobles. Hell, even the workers. At least they had something to do. Not even bandits would come to Greil to steal even a single grain of wheat. Besides shooing away a stray wolf, her job as a guard was very...underwhelming. To the point where she would sometimes take naps every now and then.

Speaking of naps, the black-haired girl laid under a tree a bit of ways from the rest of the people. "Oh man...if only this job didn't suck so much...'Sasha, we must always be prepared for sudden attacks!'" She scoffed and closed her eyes, feeling the wind breeze by, her hair drifting along her face. "At least I get to enjoy this." She stared at the sky, examining the sun's position. "Ugh...great. Only 6 more hours to go before shift."

He rose his sword up and gave a smile. "You know I have the advantage over you, you should know that I'll win." He readied his weapon and began to charge her. His sword was ready to swipe at her feet, without any remorse to whether she would actually be injured or not. His thought was every battle was real and he knew not of what it meant to hold back when it came to a spar. "Hyaaaaaaaaaaa!" He screamed as he charged towards her.

She listened as the boy told her that she was at a disadvantage due to her weapon of choice...which was entirely far too true. Through formulaic magic, swords always, except against really specific kinds, had the upper hand against axes. Sadly, Lucia did not have that extremely specific kind of axe, so she had to deal with the hand she was dealt with. Not to undermine her axe skills or anything.

Seeing the attack coming, she kept her smile on her face as she brought her axe down straight down onto the blade of her opponent yet to be named. Seeing as she was against what she assumed was a myrmidon fighter, he would clearly outspeed her, so retreating would be a rather silly option for her to take. Instead, she decided to just due what fighters do best. Brute force it! Twisting the axe so that the blunt side was facing towards her comrade sparring foe so that she didn't accidentally kill him, she took a hearty cheery swing at him.

His confidence levels were far to high. He thought with such an advantage, he could win this fight with ease. However, with little effort, his opponent managed to block his income sword with perfect accuracy. He was inexperienced yes but this much? It was simply luck, yeah, that's what it was, so he thought.

He was ready to swing again except the blunt end of the ax hit him straight in the forehead, forcing him to fall back. "Ow..." He mumbled, twitching a tad. Young and naive. He had lost.

Smoch rolled onto his back and flipped back up. He held his hand out and gave a smile. "You really got the best of me didn't ya, man I suck hehe." He laughed. "Name is Smoch. Glad to meet ya." His introduction was that of a formal one. He was raised by nobility so some things had to carry over.

The attack had connected and major success had occurred as a result. Huzzah! Lucia was happy with proving her ability to totally supersede the weapons triangle. After the attack had connected, though, she wondered if she had overdone it with that club swing. Sure she was strong, but she wasn't exactly good at regulating her own strength. As she saw the boy tumble back and spring himself back up, all thoughts of accidental manslaughter left.

The boy laughed off his defeat as he outstretched his hand and introduced himself as Smoch. Well that was a pretty weird but judging wasn't in this farm girls vernacular. Normally she'd spit in her hand before shaking it with someone else, but that always made little sense to her and helping enforce stereotypes was a no go. So instead she just shook his hand and said, "well nice to meet you Smoch. Name's Lucia, Lucia Ylis. Farm girl and fighter alike."

    "Quite the interesting girl"

It was all Valentine could really say as he listened to the queen of the land speak about their little task at hand. Arms crossed he stared up at the queen that he considered his employer laid out the day's objective. The mercenary smirked as he placed a hand on his chin and continued to stare at the queen before he closed his eyes and let out a small chuckle.

They were given time to do whatever they desired, which was something Valentine really could care less about. Sure what awaited them would be fighting, but this was something Valentine desired. The sheer excitement of battle, the risk of dying, it was enthralling and something he did not wish to merely waste.

He walked off and and smirked as he gripped the sheathed katana resting upon his back and slowly began to pull the blade out "Ah the romance of the blade, to be gifted with the time to use it is nothing but a waste for this does not benefit the romance of the blade...tis such a shame" Valentine said fully unsheathing the blade before beginning his training session

With the sound of sword clanging, it's not usually a good sign to hear. On the other hand, it's been going on for the last few weeks by random people wanting to spar. Sasha groaned and sat up, looking towards the direction of the sound. "Goddamnit...every time when I try to take a nap. Ugh whatever. I might as well look out." She already had to break up fights in the past due to injuries and stuff. She grabbed her lance and shield and made her way towards the two people fighting.

She watched from the side, examining the two fight. At least it was over sooner than she expected. She too would've liked to spar, but her cumbersome weight made her unworthy for such feat. She would probably just tip over and get stuck. Not to mention putting on the armor was a two person job and she was not going to do that since they have only a few more hours before departure. Instead, she gave them a small applause. "Great fight you two. Think I caught your names, Smooch and Lucia?"

As she grabbed his hand, a smirk came over his face. "Glad to have such a good fighter among the Disciples. Lets do our best okay!" Smoch released his grip and looked at the knight that was close by watching. She was clearly worried. "Hey, don't freak, just a friendly fight, you should loosen up a bit and try some out too. hehe." He walked over to her and tapped her armor before heading to get something to eat.

    ~LE TIME SKIP OF A FEW HOURS~

Her Majesty stood out and nodded towards a Bard. With a loud trumpet, the call was made to depart for Veera at last.Christine swayed her hand and smiled down toward the now notified Disciples. "It is time to move my friends. Let us carry onward to a new peaceful future." The queen moved her hands towards her chest and began to pray in silence. Once done, she boarded her own Royal Pegasus.

The gates had opened allowing all the Disciples to finally leave.

Solider: Ma'am. We have here a few men who will guard you in more depth than the other soldiers.
Christine: Very good Soldier. Mind telling me their names so I may recognize them. If I am going to have new friends, I'd like to know that much.
Soldier: Yes of course, my lady. The young Myrmidon here is Smoch, the Knight is Sasha, the fighter Lucia, the other Myrmidon Valentine, and the Mage Arcus.
Christine: I'm so glad to meet you friends. Please just call me Christine. There will be no need for formalities. Could you all tell me a little about you-
Patrol: Your Highness! Bad news. A group of bandits has invaded a nearby town. We await your orders.
Christine: Head out for the village. We must protect the citizens. I apologize everyone. We'll need to introduce ourselves a little later. First we must protect the people. Let us go!

She smiled. "Just making sure. Sometimes, people get carried away and accidents happen. I'll probably try once our job is done. Oh my manners. I'm Sasha Reine. Nice to meet you~"

    ~

Sasha spent a good few hours chatting and hanging out with the group. Turns out they were all part of the envoy to escort the princess. Hey it was a lot more exciting than watching a town all day. As the princess arrived, she bowed towards her. No formalities eh? It was odd since almost everyone had a better tier than her so she was always handing out honorifics after honorifics. Whatever the case...

She frowned and gripped her lance. "Bandits...of all times..." She looked towards the village and then at the mob. It wasn't very large thank goodness, but looks like a large one was around. "Great..looks like a leader is here. Everyone, focus on the mage and fighters! I'll take care of the swordsman since I can take hits from them! We can then go after the leader last!" It felt awkward to say leads, but she knew which enemy to prioritize.

She made her way towards the single myrmidon away from the others, luckily unnoticed of her presence. She charged at it with a preemptive strike with a stab to his leg and raising her shield for any counterattacks.

Here it was time. Time to get going. After having shaken the hands of her new comrade and speaking a bit to the knight gal, their jobs as escorts had begun. Here it was, the group of Disciples, as they were referred to, had begun moving out, and as such, they were to protect her majesty, Lady Christine at all costs. Even it meant throwing her life as cannon fodder for others...she just really hoped it never came down to that. As the group of body guards made their way through the country they eventually had heard news from a scout patrol that there were brigands abound. Lady Christine, the elegant woman she was, apologized to them and this body guard now had to go to work in protecting the village that was being attacked.

She was none too fond of bandits. Having grown up on a farm, her family was subject to being attacked by brigands often. Thankfully she never needed some lord unit to walk over to it and close it off from being totally burned down, since her Pa basically was able to easily take down these bandits himself. Now it was her turn. Her turn to prove herself as worthy of the Yli family name.

As such, she decided to go out and preform her role as a fighter. Front line physical bruiser. Sure, she wasn't built as tanky as a knight was, but she was still pretty hearty herself. And she knew a thing or two about fighting with her ax. However, she wasn't going to be stupid about which opponent she picked. Her class was built around health and strength, some defense. As such, her resistance to magic wasn't the greatest and so that eliminated the mage from the attack choice. Next up was melee fighters. There two myrmidons and three fighters in total. She decided to steer clear of the myrmidons as they had a clear weapon triangle advantage, and she didn't want to risk getting over taken by their superior speed and overall skill in being able to hit her. That just left the three fighters. However, one of the fighters seemed to be way burlier than the others, and if at all possible she wanted to steer clear from him until they had to absolutely take him down. The knight of the party, Sasha, seemed to understand these things as well.

As such, she started charging one of the fighters who seemed to be enjoying himself, ransacking the town as he wished. "Hey there boyo, don't you think you should stop this." Lucia had decided to see if she could talk this man out of it first.

"Ah, how adorable," the bandit started speaking to her in a mocking tone. "Are you worried for little old me? Now now, there there little girly. Why don't you just take that scary little weapon of yours and skedaddle before I think of hurtin' ya."

Lucia was not amused by this man at all. "I reckon I'm going to have to teach you a little something then." The bandit started to burst out laughing at the little act of toughness that Lucia had displayed before him. Getting annoyed by this Lucia started to smile and said, "alright then. I guess it's time for your lesson on manner then." Lucia jumped at the dude and started to bring her ax down to cleave at him. He was taken aback by her actual ability to use the ax and jumped back to avoid the attack. He then retaliated with his own strike, to which Lucia had blocked with her ax. He then proceeded to continue and try to absolutely steamroll her by simply overpowering her. However, Lucia kept blocking the ax swings and eventually went in for one of her own. The man used his ax to block the strike and went back from this attack a bit. She then leaped forward again to strike at him, to which he simply dodged to the side, and then brought his ax back down. To avoid this, Lucia let go of her ax and hopped back, only to immediately go forward to pick up her ax again. The two then proceeded to engage in a clash again of ax blades, only to realize that they were equal in strength. In order to circumvent this, Lucia dropped her ax to give herself mobility once more. The fighter had pushed through, but with no resistance, he stumbled forward, and Lucia then kicked the man in the shin, causing him to topple backwards. To follow this up, Lucia grabbed her ax and then came in with the blunt end to hit the man in the gut and send the fighter backwards once more. Continuing to smile sinisterly, Lucia said, "now, are you ready for your next lesson?"

They were soon off, heading towards their destination. It was all to begin and quite frankly Valentine was quite excited to get things started. His eyes closed and a small smile remained on his face as he listened to his leader speak to them, having been introduced by another guard. He disliked this as it removed the chance for him to introduce himself, but this was nothing of a real concern to him.

She was a kind woman, he could tell by her mannerism, though kindness could only take a person so far. She was his employer so it was only fair that she would get some form of respect from him, for now. If she wanted anymore than she would have to show him with his own eyes, something she was of course not obligated to do in the slightest.

News of disaster had struck the group and a smirk rose on Valentine's face. The excitement only grew upon hearing of a conflict for him to take part of. He would end it quick, he would not let lives be taken. It was a perfect time to see how well his squad actually worked in this situation. "Very well madame Christine my blade is yours to command" Valentine replied nonchalantly as he rushed forth towards the conflict.

The conflict would only end once the leader was down, but in order to get to said leader they needed to defeat the fodder that were in the way. He was tempted to go for a much more difficult challenge but for now he chose to go for the easiest of prey and work his way up slowly before moving towards the leader.

"Two Fighters, two Myrmidon and a mage...well then quite the interesting warm up"
Valentine said gripping the blade on his back. The fighters were the obvious choice, but he needed to think of it another way. The myrmidons were something best left for the others in this battle, but there was one person on the battlefield that proved to be the true hassle. Magic was a weakness for two of his party members and the range the mages held were a disadvantage for the team. To avoid the annoyance it was obvious who they should take out first.

"greetings, and goodbye, you have chose the path that strays from the romance of the blade and for that I must bid you adieu" Valentine said calmly as he drew forth the mage's attention. The obvious response of a glare and haughty stared had reached Valentine and a smirk grew on Valentine's face as he slightly crouched downwards and tightened his grip on the handle of his sword.

He wouldn't give the chance for the mage to attack, he would end it in one fell swing and with one attack. The two stood at a standstill, staring at each other before at last the mage began to move, readying himself to cast as spell. The clank of metal and whisping of air echoed forth as the blade was unsheathed. Quickly and swiftly Valentine rushed forward towards the mage with great speed and swung downwards towards the man in an attempt to draw blood and cut clean through the mage.

As the troops scurried over to attack each bandit, it was clear that everyone had there own intentions of fighting one on one. A clear act of chivalry to say the least. It would be poor conduct to gang up on one bandit, however they were just bandits, chivalry wasn't something they had digested as a full on moral.

While the others took on their opponents, Smoch himself as well chose to fight the other Fighter. He needed to redeem himself from the battle with Lucia, and since this bandit was an axe wielder, he'd hoped the triangle would benefit him best. He grasped his sword tight and charged off at the bandit, who was clearly ready to taste the blood he'd spill.

The sword struck the bandit doing decent damage. One more hit and he was certain to die, but the code of chivalry forced Smoch to allow the Bandit some chance to fight back, in which he would take full advantage. The question was how accurate the bandit was, though with Smoch wielding a Sword, the chances of being hit were highly reduced. Hopefully the others were fairing as well as he was. Sure they were, they were Disciples after all.

Queen Christine Attacked the Myrmidon that was left and unharmed from the other troops. Her lance managed to defeat him.

The blood pumped through her ears. It's been a good while since she had to raise her arms against another person. As predicted, her attack went smoothly her shield mostly blocking against the myrmidon's rash swings at her. The ones the got through mostly clanged harmlessly against her armor. She wasn't surprised. Bandits had little to no care for such extensive training. Only to plunder what they can. Though it was annoying that she couldn't land some hits due to her bulky movements and attacks, but that was enough for her.

Eventually, the bandit made one mistake by swinging at her face too hard which she blocked effectively, making him stagger backward. She raised her lance at him. "Farewell bandit." She knocked him to the floor and stabbed downward with her lance. "May the goddess have mercy on your soul."

She pulled her lance out and looked around. It seemed everyone else was just about finishing up on their fight. In that case, she turned and started to make her way towards the leader, making sure if the leader made any sudden cowardly movement, she would be there to halt his efforts until the rest were done and came over.

The fighter got himself up muttering something about Lucia being some sort of dastard, Lucia got ready to end it all against this man. This one on one fight was gonna end with one of these people as the victor, and her devilish smirk made her a clear contender for killing this man on the spot. As he stood up, the fighter started to think about how he could fight this girl without getting totally killed. As such, he charged at her, and Lucia simply went in to kill him as easily as she could. Bringing her ax blade out, Lucia began to strike at the ax fighter, only for him to block the strike once more.

The two then started to engage in another exchange of ax blows. Lucia had felt the blow that she had previously received, but it wasn't anything she couldn't deal with at all. The man seemed to be a bit worse for wear as well, and Lucia simply decided to be opportunistic about this. She started hammering down on him once more until his arm gave out and his ax blade was sent hurtling out of his hands. He started to look in a panic, and simply backed away from the ax wielding girl. She came down upon him and continued to go at him with a flurry of ax slashes. The man was basically helpless at this point, and each slash kept cutting him until he finally couldn't run any longer. Falling down, body bleeding all over the place, he looked towards his opponent, face filled with horror. Lucia maintained a smile on her face as she took her ax and completely decapitated the fallen bandit fighter.

With that done, Lucia simply looked around to see that the rest of the party was basically cleaning house as well. Save for that one mage guy who kind of didn't even exist yet. He had somehow magically started being damaged, but other than that, the rest of the party seemed to be doing fine. As such, Lucia looked forward to the boss, thinking that he was going to be their next clear target to totally get rid of. Due to turn limitations, though, she was unable to do anything more than that.

The blade cut clean through his opponent and Valentine was left victorious. The annoyance of a mage was out of the way and they were close to the end of the battle. A flick of the wrist to the side caused some of the blood on his blade to be tossed off, but there was still far more for him to do before they could say they were done with this match. They still had a long way to go and they did not have much time to spare running around slashing about.

They needed to get rid of the boss before the man did far more damage to the village than they could afford. A life was something that just could not be returned and the romance of the blade did not bode well with the death of the innocent. The bandits were being picked off one by one, but one remained still battling against the fellow sword wielder.

Gripping forth a small pebble, the rock was tossed straight towards the head of the fighter facing off against Smoch. The attention was drawn towards him and Valentine merely closed his eyes and gave the fighter a cheeky and annoying smile. The dim witted axe wielder was enraged by such an little attack and things went according to plan.

The fighter made his way towards Valentine and the sword wielder smirked as he opened his eye and prepared his blade. Crouching downwards, Valentine dashed forward towards his prey and immediately rose his blade as the fighter immediately swung downwards at Valentine. The axe and the sword clashed against each other and Valentine's smirk only grew as the metal clashed.

The two separated from each other and Valentine too a step back. The fighter took a step forward and swung downwards once more, but Valentine sidestepped to the left and thrust his blade through his opponents chest. Pulling out the blade in a fluid and graceful manner, the body collapsed and Valentine smile as he glanced over at Smoch "So sorry for stealing your prey, but we have bigger prey to tend to...shall we press on my comrade?" Valentine said with a calm smile. He was one honour, but those without it did not deserve to be fought with it

Smoch turned his attention towards Valantine. A simple nod was given as showing a sign of gratitude. There was no point in pride over one vs one. This was a war after all, the bandit cowards would have done the same if given the chance.

All that remained was the leader of the bandits. It seemed everyone else was recovering from their fights, Smoch was the lucky one to get the first strike into him. Luckily this leader was also an Ax wielder. Another advantage for this Myrmidon. He rose his sword up and gave a devastating swing towards the man. That wasn't to say that no damage would be taken. He was the leader for a reason, an as such, the ax he delivered to Smoch was a mighty powerful one. Thankfully for him, he had an advantage or else the blow might have killed him.

Sasha looked back. Everyone else was done with their fight. Only the leader was left. Smooch was already upon him. If they all coordinate their attacks, they can down him very easily. Which is what she should do.

Right after the leader struck out at Smoch, she got behind him and jabbed at his side, puncturing him. A good hit, but it just pissed him off a bit. He turned and swing violently against Sasha, luckily which she raised her shield or else her head would've come off. She flinched as the ax struck her shield with a mighty clang. She may be tanky, but she wasn't strong enough to absorb such a mighty hit.

Having noticed that the rest of the enemies had been dealt with rather handily, Lucia figured it was high time to end all of the suffering caused be these stupid bandits. Getting herself ready she hoisted her ax up and propped it on her shoulder. Getting ready to go in and help her Disciple comrades, Lucia then began charging full speed towards the final bandit. The boss enemy. Sure, she was getting low on health, she could actually feel a good deal of pain radiating through her body, but seeing as there was no cleric yet, and she had no healing items of her own, Lucia simply did all that she could do in this situation.

Hopping towards the boss she came in with her ax and wanted to get a might cleave in. Seeing as he was already not looking the best from having dealt with both Smoch's sword strike and Sasha's lance strike, she was fairly confident in her own ax strike from bringing down the finishing pain on this boss man. Unfortunately, he ended up blocking the strike with his ax, but it was clear that pain was transferred. The shock generating from the ax collision caused his arm to fall down and himself to stumble back in pain, but he quickly recovered and decided to try and end Lucia's life right where she stood by bringing his own ax down to try and cleave her in two. Lucia was able to block such a strike, but she was starting to feel greatly fatigued herself. Hopefully one of her allies would be able to finish this man off.
