This is for a science project -__-.....anyway this is for the research part and I want to see what you think.

I know the poll says yes or no........That part is just to see how many people say yes it does or no it doesn't........

    Yes the jar is closed

There is no poll, but I presume there will be one lol

Before anyone can answer, they need to know if the jar is closed or not. If it is then it most certainly will. Fire requires all sides of the "triangle" i.e. heat, fuel and air (oxygen specifically). Therefore, as the fire burns it uses up the oxygen supply. This means that the larger the jar, the larger the air supply therefore the longer the fire will burn.

Couldn't have worded it better myself.
So yes it does affect it.

Well... I'd have to say yes it does. Candles need oxygen to burn, and if the jar is bigger, it has more oxygen left in it before you close it and the flame burns it than the smaller one.

    Put yes. 8D

The greater the volume of the air inside the jar the longer the candle will burn :3

This. Oxygen is needed for fire to be made, so the bigger the jar the longer it burns.

yeah it all has to do with the oxygen, as im sure many ppl have said. i feel so smart saying that!

I tihnk so...with The amount of Oxygen around the candle.
The more surface area around the candle the more Oxygen that can gather up. Course i dont know for sure.

Umm yes it will matter. IF the pressure is the same in both the small jar and the large jar. If the pressure is the same, the candle will take longer to absorb all the oxygen in the large jar than in the small one.

If you change the pressure so the large one has the same amount of oxygen as the small one (you are actually dropping pressure to if it was filled normally), it will take the same amount of time.

You can change it by temperature.

    Yay, go science.
